Welcome to The Nantwich Singers The Nantwich Singers is regarded as one of the finest chamber choirs in the northwest of England. Since its inception as The Tudor Consort in the early 1970s it has broadened its repertoire from the unaccompanied music of the 16th Century and now performs music from all eras and in all styles. The great masterpieces of the Renaissance are not forgotten but the choir is now equally at home in the classical era of Mozart and Schubert, the romantic world of Brahms and Rachmaninov, the rhythmic complexity of Walton and the jazz of Will Todd. Most performances are given in the medieval gem of St Mary’s Church in the centre of Nantwich, often referred to as the Cathedral of South Cheshire. But the choir also ventures further afield and has established a reputation deputising for church choirs around the country; including Bath and Tewkesbury Abbeys, and the cathedrals of Edinburgh, Manchester, Derby, Lichfield, Chester and Coventry among others. The choir comprises a flexible grouping of about 18 singers, some of whom are soloists in their own right. They perform regularly with orchestras and instrumental groups, as well as with organ or piano accompaniment, but at the heart of the choir is the enduring excitement of unaccompanied music, both sacred and secular.

Swing Dancing is a term used for a collection of vintage dances dating from the 1920s/30s/40s which are danced to Swing music. The dances frequently included under this banner are: – The Lindy Hop – Charleston – Jazz – Balboa – Collegiate Shag Each with different origins, these dances found an equal meaning to the music of some of the greatest bands and singers of the early 20th Century including Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Chick Webb, Duke Ellington and many, many more. After a period of obscurity lasting several decades, a resurgence in Swing Dancing began in the 1980s and has continued to grow in popularity ever since. These highly musical and energetic dances continue to bring joy to many people on the dancefloor and never fail to get the feet of spectactors tapping. What do we do? SwingOut Manchester is an organisation which aims to encourage people to join the fun-filled, energetic and friendly world of Swing Dancing. Launched in 2017, SwingOut Manchester is on a mission to bring the Lindy Hop, Charleston and more to the city of Manchester. Born in the East End of London Valerie Masters was passionate about singing and entertaining even from the tiny age of 4 years old when people would ask her grandfather to hold her up to the microphone and sing. Her career started when she left school at 16 to join a well known Jazz Group, the Ray Ellington Quartet. She was auditioned by Dick Katz, the great pianist with the Group and who was awarded the title of Jazz Musician of the year in the 1960s and to whom Valerie later married. Valerie travelled with the quartet until she ventured on a solo career internationally . She had her own radio show on Radio Luxembourg, the Valerie Masters Show. She was voted Top Girl of the North East when she had the series "The One o'Clock Show" and the series "Young At Heart" with Jimmy Saville, starred in countless TV Shows and series and Sunday at Winchester with Jess Yates, and appeared at the London Paladium on several occasions. Valerie has appeared on film and TV and you would have seen and heard her in the series Secret Army, Seaside Special, the Singing Detective, the Wombles, the Faith Brown Show, the Stanley Baxter Show, Russ Abbott, Grace Kennedy and many others during the 1960s and 1970s. During her time as a solo artist and entertainer she sang with Quincy Jones in the Tivoli Gardens, Sweden and Denmark and many other famous names including Shirley Bassey, Petula Clark, Cilla Black, Lulu, to name just a few. She Led the BBC team singing to come first in the Nordring Festival in 1983 with their Winning Show. She has also sung titles in many films including The Helion for John Hayman, who went on to work with Cubby Broccoli on the James Bond Films, Hobs Choice, The Wall with Bob Geldorf, Yentl with Barbara Streisand, Dutch girls with Timothy Spall and has also been heard on the TV singing American and British adverts/jingles such as Scottish Cheddar, Knorr Soups, Bangor Jeans, Tetley Teabags and many more, too numerous to mention! Since the passing of her husband Dick Katz Valerie is now married to the Property Owner and Theatrical Agent Tony Nunn the former great violinist. I’m Julia and was born & raised in Berlin Germany and have moved to Liverpool to give singing lessons and to be part of the wonderful music community here. I am a singer, songwriter and highly qualified singer teacher & vocal coach and have a long teaching experience with teenagers and adults at music schools and in private singing lessons. I've been teaching singing for nearly 15 years, both privately and at music schools, and I'm regularly internationally on stage myself with my own music as a solo singer, or with other artists as a backing vocalist. I also work as a studio singer, composer, and conductor of choirs. I studied music education for vocals pop rock jazz at the University of the Art Bremen ('Hochschule für Künste', Bremen, Germany) and do regular training to apply and teach the latest vocal techniques. My last trainings were Complete Vocal Technique, Circle Singing and Inclusion Oriented Circus and Movement Education. Being an active singer and songwriter enriches my teaching, because I can teach you not only the techniques you need on stage, in the studio or when writing songs, but I can share my enthusiasm and love for the music with you. I have successfully prepared many singing students for auditions and competitions and helped them to win first prizes. Also, I've helped many students to pass the entrance exams at Colleges and University to study music. I have taught singers of all ages and levels - beginners, advanced or even professionals who just need support for a tour, a recording session or a specific concert.

KARINE GAZARIAN, PHD Karine is the founder of Artful Mindscape and workshop facilitator. Originally from Lithuania, Karine studied psychology in Canada and clinical neuroscience in the UK. She spent over a decade in research labs exploring neuroplasticity of the human brain (the ability of the brain to change) and worked in universities in England, Canada and the United States. She gained her PhD in clinical neuroscience from the Institute of Neurology, University College London. Karine's purpose is to use her knowledge to support people on their journeys towards growth, resilience, meaning and fulfilment. She is a certified, ICF accredited coach and brings many of the coaching tools and knowledge in neuroscience to her workshops in order to create a unique and powerful experience. Karine lives in the Cotswolds with her partner and children. She loves grooving to jazz, twirling in contemporary dance routines, soaking up the beauty of the hills, or immersing herself in drawing workshops.
