tpot: the power of touch was founded by Michelle Hammond in 2013 as a result of the UK's first in-depth research in to 'the challenges of treating clients with cancer in UK & Irish spa's and salons. After the initial research Michelle worked with clinicians and specialists in the field of oncology and medicine to understand what we could do and how complementary therapies could be utilised more effectively for those living with dis-ease and life limiting health conditions. Now an active ambassador for integrative health and lifestyle medicine, Michelle works alongside numerous charities and health focused organisations to bring the pillars of wellness front and center. Prior to launching tpot, Michelle was responsible for leading, educating and designing luxury spa, health and wellness teams and brands around the world. Building on her initial and multi-disciplined range of clinical complementary therapy skills. In addition to leading and evolving tpot (something she has always proudly called her passion project), Michelle spent 7 years curating the health and wellness concept and experiences, through design and deliverables, throughout the Pegasus Life community living portfolio - with the aim of revolutionising retirement living in the UK. She has also spent the last few years in her consultancy capacity supporting the future of workplace wellness strategies and meaningful wellness experience curation for large financial and tech led institutions. All whilst still leading her private talking therapy practise clinic one day a week supporting clients with their mental and emotional wellbeing - particularly when faced with life limiting health conditions, trauma and disease. Michelle has recently embarked on a field of study in Traditional Chinese Medicine in the hope of achieving her doctorate in the future and deepening the insights and experiences she can bring to her wellness consultancy, teaching and private practise.

My name is Jess Hindley and I'm a Fitness, Dance Performance and Mindset Coach from Manchester in the UK. I am a Level 3 qualified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Consultant, with experience teaching both online and in-person workshops with clients from all over the world. My passion for fitness and mindset stems from my journey through the world of Irish dance where I competed for 20 years from the age of 6 to 26, then went on to perform professionally with the World-renowned show Riverdance. My dreams as a young dancer were always to become a World Champion and to perform with Riverdance. There were many times when I thought my dreams were not in reach, and it was only with the help of incredible teachers and mindset coaches that I found the confidence to believe in myself as a dancer and a person. After 19 years, I was finally crowned World Champion in 2018 and in the same year performed with Riverdance for Pope Francis at Croke Park in front of 80,000 people. Since then I retained my World title in 2019 and went on to perform with Riverdance in Singapore, Ireland and the UK before our 25th anniversary tour was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Like many people, I found navigating the pandemic very difficult but turned to my passion for fitness for a new goal to strive for. After many cancelled practical sessions and challenges relating to Covid-19, I was so excited to qualify as a Level 3 Personal Trainer and Nutrition Consultant in early 2022. My goal is to pass on everything I've learned both through my qualifications and my many years experience in a competitive and professional dance setting. I hope I can make a difference to my clients' lives just as my teachers and mentors did for me.

Cardiff Storyteller and Singer Cath Little has “rough magic” in her voice, and in her words “the gift of the story comes through.” She has a strong belief in the power of stories to connect us to one another, to the land, and to the people who once lived here. She tells traditional stories from her Irish English heritage and her Welsh homeland. Cath enjoys re-imagining and retelling stories from The Mabinogion. Cath helps run the Cardiff Storytelling Circle and curates their seasonal concerts, Tales for the Turning Year. She tells and listens to stories at Oasis, a Cardiff Charity which offers a warm Welsh welcome to refugees and asylum seekers. Cath keeps busy sharing stories in schools, libraries, museums, castles, cafes and fields. She has performed at festivals across Britain and Ireland and is the author of Glamorgan Folk Tales for Children. My father told me stories and my mother read me them. The family was, and is, full of wonderful storytellers. When I started teaching English in London Secondary Schools it came naturally to me to tell stories: I told stories to help the children into poetry, into Shakespeare, into their own creative imaginations. When I taught English in Italy and in Egypt I found that stories take away the stress of learning another language and give a real reason for listening. When I became a Steiner Waldorf Early Years Teacher I learnt more about the power of stories to nurture and to heal. And then one day I met a professional storyteller! Then I knew that’s what I had to be. Since then I’ve been on the path, following my bliss, and have worked as a professional storyteller since 2006.

James Ewart Racing Ltd was founded in 2004 as a Flat and National Hunt racing yard: initially buying and selling French horses to U.K. owners whilst establishing training facilities. Amongst his early purchases were Dark Ben and My Way de Solzen. James has particularly strong links with France resulting in a high proportion of French horses in the yard but has also had great success with Irish and English horses. He has trained multiple Bumper, Hurdle and Chase winners with some horses winning 12 times and he is always striving to improve the quality of his string. THE TEAM James Ewart James was brought up around horses all his life and as a child enjoyed jumping large hedges on small ponies in the Wynnstay country! Teenage stints followed with work experience at Nicky Henderson, John Leadbetter and Jonjo O’Neill followed by a course at the Royal Agricultural College studying Land Management. Then on to Ferdy Murphy for three years as Amateur Assistant and over to France for four years with Guillaume Macaire as Assistant Trainer - some highlights being Champion Amateur Jockey 2000 and taking Jair du Cochet on his UK raids. Briony Ewart Briony spent her childhood under the tutelage of the legendary East Anglian trainer ‘EAP’ – Miss Pickard. Highlights included winning the Champion East Anglian Native Working Hunter Pony and twice qualifying as an individual for the Pony Club Eventing Championships. At the Royal Agricultural College (now University) she met James and spent a summer in France with Guillaume Macaire before working for two years at the Shadwell Stud and in 2004 helped James set up James Ewart Racing. She has been responsible for breaking in and producing many winners including Wilde Pastures, Open De L’Isle and Capital Venture. Briony still continues with breaking in, is a regular work rider and helps with the horses at the races. As a hobby she enjoys competing on Neil Ewart’s homebred Fells whose bloodlines go back 60 years. David Macleod – Head Lad David has spent a lifetime in racing and has worked at Newmarket and at Middleham with Mark Johnston. He has a wealth of experience in all aspects of horse management and their wellbeing and is a vital member of the team. Charles Marini - Assistant Trainer Charles has returned to the yard as Assistant Trainer and is plays an important part in the running of the yard. JohnAmbrose - Yard Manager Colin Barnfather - Groundsman Leah Barnfather - Part time and weekends. Alistair Bell - Yard repairs. I am Irish but have lived in the northwest of England for over 20 years. After originally qualifying as a person-centred counsellor in 1994, I worked in GP practices in the northwest and in north Wales before working in London at the Beverley Clinic. I was then invited to teach, part-time, on counselling courses at Oldham College, and progressed to a full-time post as programme leader for the counselling diploma. Subsequently, I worked full-time as lecturer and joint course leader at University of Salford for a number of years before deciding to leave teaching and focus on providing therapy. In 2006, I qualified as a Gestalt psychotherapist (Manchester Gestalt Centre and Metanoia Institute). Gestalt theory and practice is fascinating, and the thoroughness of the training, which is accredited by Gestalt Psychotherapy & Training Institute, makes it a highly respected and powerful approach. At a recent estimate, I have worked therapeutically with over 8000 clients for an average of ten sessions each. I would like to say that therapy was successful with all – but not quite, I’m sure. At University of Liverpool, where I work part-time, the CORE-OM system is used to assess outcomes, and my work has a high success rate. I have two teenage sons, and I’m an avid football fan and watch a lot of it. Recently I had the pleasure of working for Everton Football Club with some of their first team. I read a lot of non-fiction, watch Netflix, enjoy photography, walk our spaniel, Daisy, and exercise regularly. I got into counselling and therapy over 25 years ago when I decided to face my own personal problems. I needed a lot of help and to my surprise, and initial scepticism, it worked well for me. I feel transformed by this experience (it was long term and not always easy). From this experience I developed an endless fascination for psychotherapy. I was fortunate to have been a client to some very capable therapists, to whom I am more than grateful.

East Belfast Yacht Club was founded by workers from the Belfast Shipyards in 1904, and has enjoyed both the high and the low years through its existence. From the high points through the 1920s/30s/40s and '50s when the Club hosted many sailing races and entertained the owners and masters of the massive J-Class yachts down to the more plentiful and massively supported Belfast Lough one designs through to the Flying Fifteens and Dragons and others of the various periods. The Club was previously situated at the head of Belfast Lough near the now defunct oil refinery on the South shore but has been based on the present site in Sydenham Embayment between The Belfast City Airport and Victoria Park since 1939. More recent activities have been more towards the Cruising side of Yachting with boats being built and refurbished at our base at Sydenham Embayment and used to cruise the Inland Loughs, the Irish Sea, The Med' and indeed through Europe and across to the America's. We have become established as the main non professional producer and knowledge base for boats built from Ferro-cement in Ireland, and have had visitors from many countries in Europe who wished to avail of our knowledge on the subject. A past Member and his good lady were the first to introduce the method to Sydenham around 1970 and through a system of trial and error and the study of other builders down through the years we have had boats built by our members using just about every method known. Current build numbers are somewhere in the 30s, some of which have been own designs and some modifications of existing designs.

They confessed their faith to each other and took their congregations to visit each other’s cathedrals, a symbolic act of Christians working together in the context of northern Irish religious sectarianism. When the three colleges (St Katharine’s 1844, Notre Dame College 1856 and Christ’s College 1964) came together the name ‘Hope’ was adopted came from Hope Street that links both cathedrals - a living parable of what can happen when Christians unite and work together for the common good. This year we celebrate 175 years since the founding of our first college in 1844; in that year there were only six universities in England (two of them medieval) but all of them did not admit women, Catholics or Jews. The founding colleges of Liverpool Hope University were among the first few institutions to begin opening up higher education to the vast majority of England’s population. The Anglican Bishops of Liverpool, going back to the founding Bishop, Bishop Ryle, were all evangelicals. The friendship of the Anglican Bishop and the Catholic Archbishop was largely based on both their sharing of a mutual faith and their commitment to the poor. This adherence to historic Christian faith remains the university’s own commitment as it seeks to live out that faith in its life and work in a secularised British academy. At the beginning of each academic term we hold a Foundation Service to restate our foundational mission and values. Our Graduation ceremonies are held in alternating years in both the Anglican and Catholic Cathedrals in Liverpool.The new name of Liverpool Hope University was chosen to represent the ecumenical mission of the Institution. Liverpool Hope University was born in July 2005, when the Privy Council bestowed the right to use the University title. Research Degree Awarding Powers were granted by the Privy Council in 2009.
