In 2012 Anita founded The Positive Parenting Project, a social enterprise which aims to bring the benefits of proven evidence-based parenting strategies to as many parents (and children) as possible. Anita started her career in international development, spending four and a half years in Mongolia where she went through both of her pregnancies. (Her eldest son learnt to say ‘mummy’ in Mongolian before he said it in English!). Anita also spent time in Hungary and Kazakhstan. Anita has studied developmental psychology (child development) to postgraduate level and is an accredited Triple P® parenting coach. A leading UK parenting expert, she speaks at events across the country and delivers parenting seminars, webinars and one-to-one support. She is regularly featured as a parenting expert on TV and radio. Fascinated by children and how they develop, Anita has a talent for helping parents view their children and their own parenting strategies from different angles. She is adamant that there is no such thing as a perfect parent and says her ambition with her own children is simply not to make the same mistakes too often. After becoming a single parent, Anita changed careers. She worked as a strategic manager in a local authority children’s services for nine years, setting up and managing early intervention, targeted and specialist family support services including Sure Start Children’s Centres, parent support lines, teenage pregnancy prevention projects and intensive family support.

A bespoke twelve-week resilience and anger management programme, for your school. Sessions can be devised to meet your cohort requirements. Our programme supports Y5 & Y6, students who form part of your ‘hard to reach’ cohort, who without preventative intervention may struggle with transition into Y7 and may become at risk of permanent exclusion. Our programme can be tailored for Y7 students to support them further, post transition. Furthermore, we can adapt our programme to engage with vulnerable students who are low in confidence, self esteem and social skills. Week 1 is an introduction to the course to students. Weeks 2 -11 is; A one-hour period of Taekwondo, teaching students the importance of self-discipline and respect, whilst improving self-esteem, confidence and team working skills. A one-hour classroom-based session covering: mental health; mindfulness; sleep hygiene; relaxation & calming techniques; health and well-being; resilience and positive mental attitude. We can also deliver lessons exploring how to be a model citizen, and how to avoid becoming drawn into contemporary youth crime such as: anti-social behaviour; bullying; truancy; knife crime; gangs and substance misuse. We will also deliver lessons covering; parent abuse; internet safety; personal safety; child sexual exploitation (if the school deems appropriate); crime & consequences; and domestic violence. It is therefore important that you check the legal requirements in the country you wish to work in. A Day in the Life of an Animal Osteopath We can convey the daily life of a manual therapist based on the 6 essential professional skills of animal osteopathy. On a daily basis, the manual therapist is required to: Travel to meet the animals to be treated (cats, dogs, horses, cattle, exitoc pets). Evaluate the clinical situation, taking into account the animal as a whole. Establish an osteopathic diagnosis. Determine and implement the appropriate osteopathic manipulations. The local context (a small industrial town in rural northern Cumbria) is, perhaps, not one you might associate with academic excellence and yet we were the first secondary school in the county to have been judged “outstanding” by Ofsted under their revised framework. You will probably want to see for yourself what we have to offer and, to this end, I would be delighted to show you around. Emotional Intelligence – Plus (EQ+) I have always been a firm believer in the promotion of so-called ‘soft skills’, in Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and in improving the ability of pupils to interact effectively with others in different contexts. Many pupils suffer when they find themselves in a different social context (e.g. a discussion with an adult, a classroom presentation etc.) and find it hard to adapt. So, a few years ago, as part of the School Development Plan, we promoted this across the school through normal lessons and Form Periods to help pupils recognise its importance, and encouraged pupil progress in eight key areas, using where possible pupil role-models as teachers. These days, we regularly revisit EQ, albeit informally, encouraging pupils to be ‘EQ-competent’ and ‘interview ready’. And more recently, we have also embarked on a related project with an external company keen to promote Oracy Skills. Initially, we focussed on the whole of Year 8; latterly, we have adapted the programme to target around 100 pupils (from Year 7 to Year 12) who we believe might benefit more than others from this kind of intervention.

She has been a teacher, trainer, and professor for over 23 years. She has created and taught over 120 courses in centers of teacher formation in all parts of Spain, Europe, and worldwide. She specializes in learning theory, teaching methods and CLIL. Arpita Bhattacharyya - Arpita Bhattacharyya (India ), Alma mater - Indian Psychoanalytical Society, is presently working as a Consultant for Autism Intervention & Educator ( Childhood Developmental Disorders ). She has been into handling cases with academic, socio- motor, sensory difficulties especially children with ASD, ADHD, LD & ID for the past 11 years in special school & psychiatric clinic set up. She had been Asstt Professor in RCI training college and Guest Faculty for various institutions like IIT Kharagpur ( Adaptive Devices in Special Needs ) for ASD (both at SPl D.Ed & B.Ed level ) for 9 years. She had been a member of the panel of NIEPMD, Chennai for setting question papers of All India External Examination under RCI & NBER regulations. Sudipta Hore - Sudipta Hore has a Master’s Degree in Sociology from Calcutta University. She has a B.Ed. and is also a certified TEFL/TESOL and a Phonics trainer. She has successfully completed sessions and workshops on “Special Education Needs Teachers’ Training” from ‘Mono Bikash Kendra’, Kolkata. Apart from these, Sudipta is also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer, having extensively toured and performed across India. She has more than 17 years of experience, spanning various academic roles as pre & primary Educator in International Schools, across Hyderabad, Delhi & Gurgaon.
