World Ju Jitsu Federation Ireland teaches a mix of kicking, punching throws and locks. The system has evolved from a combination of old Ju Jitsu styles which the Federation’s Founder, Soke Robert Clark, researched and trained in for many years. He took the best of everything and developed it into a complete training syllabus with belt grades. With his permission, David Toney developed the system further writing three training manuals, the first of which Soke Clark wrote a glowing endorsement for. We feel, over the years, our style of ju-jitsu has developed into one of the most comprehensive self defence systems available. OUR EXPERIENCE As we have developed as an organisation, we have been proactive in targeting more females to join and coach, and now are proud to have a coaching team of both sexes with a top tier of Master Grade instructors. Senior Club Instructors have been vetted by Access NI, hold full professional training qualifications, and Public Indemnity insurance, and each club must have a qualified first aider on hand at all times. We are ahead in our field by ensuring our coaches are equipped to meet the needs of those with varying ability and disability and those with learning difficulties. All of our affiliated clubs are recognised by the Governing Body for the Sport in Northern Ireland, and as such follow their policies and procedures. WHERE WE ARE We have approximately 70 clubs throughout Ireland and are part of the WJJF-WJJKO 1976 which has member bodies in countries all over the world. We not only offer you an opportunity to train in one of our clubs, offer private lessons and self-defence courses, but we also have courses, seminars and social occasions throughout the year, along with opportunities to travel to our sister-organisations to train and visit other countries.

Sheffield

I trained as a Careers Adviser in 2007-8 after a long career working in the charity sector in a range of roles including managing a Volunteer Centre, working with community groups, managing volunteers and recruiting learners to courses run in the community. Some of my more unusual jobs have involved working in a Youth Hostel in the Yorkshire Dales, working on a sheep farm for two years in Australia and being a Tour Guide in a monastery. Being a Careers Adviser has been a great way of combining my two main passions – helping people achieve their goals and researching and disseminating information. An optimist by nature, I believe that everyone has skills, talents and abilities. Sometimes individuals need help uncovering these and with communicating them clearly to employers or with working out their next step on their career journey. I have certainly benefitted myself over the years from the support of various career professionals. Between 2013 – 2017 I was employed as a Careers Adviser delivering a national contract for adults seeking careers advice. Whilst I loved the work I became increasingly frustrated by the limitations of the contract which prevented many clients getting what they really needed support with. I realised the only way to be able to provide an excellent client-centred service was by providing it myself! And so I launched my own business. For your peace of mind I have Professional Indemnity Insurance and am a member of the national Career Development Institute (CDI). As a Registered Professional on the CDI register I am required to carry out 25 hours per year of Continuous Professional Development. I’m really interested in being the Best Career Consultant I can be so I regularly attend training and information events in order to develop my skills and knowledge.

Inverness

The Highland Holistic Massage School is based in Inverness in the beautiful Scottish Highlands and is a trusted provider of courses for the complete beginner to the trained therapist. The school was set up by myself to provide training for those with a passion for holistic therapies without the need to travel out with the area. I began my career in 1998 in my hometown of Glasgow where I achieved my Diploma in Professional Clinical Aromatherapy. I moved to the Highlands in 2001 where I continued to study various therapies. My passion for helping others through my therapies has taken me as far afield as the Wat Po Medical School in Bangkok, Thailand, where I studied and trained in Thai Massage. I see my clients at The Aroma Touch in Inverness where I provide the following treatments: Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Fertility Reflexology, Pregnancy Reflexology, Myofascial Release, Traditional Thai Foot Massage, Hopi Ear Candling, Thai Compress Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Advanced and Deep Tissue Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Indian Head Massage, Natural Lift Facial Massage/Facial Rejuvenation, Chair/Seated Acupressure On Site Massage, Thai Traditional Massage, Emotional Freedom Technique, Oncology Massage, Foot Reading and Reiki. I am a Reiki Master/Teacher teaching levels 1, 2 and Master/Teacher. The Highland Holistic Massage School courses are taught by myself in a relaxed and comfortable environment. I believe in teaching small classes to enable students to receive more of my expertise. Class sizes are a maximum of 4. My aim is to train you in your chosen therapy, to confidently use your qualification either professionally or with friends and family All courses are insurable for professional purposes. If you currently have therapist insurance, please check that your chosen course is covered.
