Suitable for adults and children of all abilities. The groups are small and the classes are informal. Sessions are between 1.5 and 2 hours long with materials included and refreshments provided. Some workshops may be longer. Resident artist Gill is a member of The Tutors' Association, fully DBS checked. Our studio is located on it's own floor with a separate bathroom and is airy, well ventilated cleaned between sessions. Current Covid advice is followed at all times.

Adult Dyslexia Consulting Ltd was founded by Sally-Ann Morrison with the aim of making assessments for adults more accessible. She has worked in this field for more than 20 years and holds a Masters degree in Adult Dyslexia Diagnosis and Support (ADDS). After completing a degree in Linguistics (York), she worked in adult education and was the Dyslexia Co-ordinator at a large FE college for ten years, simultaneously delivering the Postgraduate Diploma in ADDS for London South Bank University in the North West of England. Following her role as Senior Lecturer on an AMBDA accredited Pg Cert programme, she founded ADC Ltd, and works as an independent SpLD assessor and trainer. The majority of her SpLD assessment work is with FE and HE students, and she also provides specialist tuition and workplace assessment and training. Sally-Ann is a member of the Patoss APC Review team and holds a current Assessment Practising Certificate. All assessments are undertaken under the guidelines issued by the Spld Assessment Standards Committee (SASC). Sally-Ann is fully insured and quality assured. Bill is chairman of The Education Partnership, which has for the past twenty years provided a truly comprehensive range of governance and compliance expertise to schools, colleges, and outdoor education activity centres. He was previously a Head Teacher of all-age boarding and day schools in the maintained and independent sectors, including those for children with complex learning and behavioural needs. Bill works with proprietors and Head Teachers in preparation for and following up inspections by Ofsted (Education and Social Care) and ISI (Regulatory Compliance and Education Quality). His expertise in this area covers NMS, RSS, dual registration, initial registration, final registration and material change. Bill also works with schools judged as “inadequate” by Ofsted or “unsatisfactory” by ISI, helping them to achieve “good”, “outstanding” and “excellent” Ofsted or ISI outcomes. Bill is approached by an increasing number of proprietors, chairs of trustees and headteachers, who find themselves in challenging circumstances. This includes schools that have received a warning notice from the Department for Education due to their failure to meet the Independent School Standards Regulations (ISSR) and/or the National Minimum Standards (NMS) for boarding and residential special schools. Consistently, these schools see improvements at subsequent inspections. Currently, Bill is undertaking a longitudinal study of independent proprietorial schools, examining the governance implications of compliance and external inspection outcomes. To this end, we are looking for proprietorial schools in England for whom we could undertake a free of charge one-day compliance health check in return for participating in a confidential semi-structured interview on this subject at the end of the day. I'm passionate about children growing up feeling seen, heard and understood. Acceptance, belonging and connection in family life are so important. Over two decades of working with children, fostering and having my own birth children means I know this is easy to aspire to, but can be hard to achieve, especially if your child has different needs to others around you. My own journey into parenting was back to front – I was a foster carer for 7 years along with my husband, Steve. Our first “child” was 17 and our second was 14! These experiences plus having my own birth children who are now 6 and 8 have taught me there really is no one size fits all. We’ve had many moments feeling stuck, minunderstood, frustrated and exhausted over the years. In those challenging times having a safe space to talk, reflect, step back and access our expertise on our children has consistently made a huge difference to our experience of family life. When we had support as parents we were better able to support our children and family life was calmer and happier. It’s why doing this work matters so much to me. When I help you - your whole family will reap the benefit and you'll enjoy this precious time together so much more.
