Pocket Trainer was created with the understanding of each and every pain point from the perspective of Janos Laszlo, a Food and Beverage veteran and the visionary behind Pocket Trainer. Having accumulated over 15 years of experience in the Food and Beverage industry, Janos has seen and experienced a LOT! He has gained his robust perspective through wearing every possible hat within the industry, from food runner, waiter, bartender, event organizer, club manager and Corporate Trainer, and having hosted some of the most renowned names in the world—he saw exactly what is needed in order to provide the best experience for clients from all over the world. He has layed down service foundations for leading brands, curated trainings for 7 different departments, has helped open 7 successful restaurants across 5 countries, and has won ‘Best Restaurant’ titles 29 times just within the last 10 years with his teams. When it comes to his passion, it boils down to one thing—being of service. His aim is to give back to his beloved Food and Beverage colleagues, by sharing his deep knowledge and experience. Throughout his career he has been making notes on what ‘better’ looks like within the industry and how to equip his colleagues with the tools needed to provide excellent service to clientele and guests, while managing the disconnections between management and staff. Today these notes are foundation of Pocket Trainer. Holistically improving the image of your company by being forward thinking in saving time, money and paper through Pocket Trainer, and also by enhancing and streamlining information for your greatest asset ‘your people’.

The Chat Shop story started in 2011. That may not seem like an especially long time ago, but trust us, ten years is a very long time in live chat history. Before we were incorporated, hardly any businesses used live chat, and fewer still seemed to recognise its revenue-generating potential. The more we looked into why this was, we saw that few people really understood the value that chat could bring to their business, and chat was a real challenge to get right. 2011 Small beginnings The Chat Shop was founded by two people who knew they could provide a solution. They sensed that live chat might represent an unexplored opportunity to reach out and connect with customers. Could smart onsite conversation be the key to engaging wavering visitors and converting them into qualified leads? 2012 Officially incorporated By June 2012, The Chat Shop was officially incorporated. The Chat Shop began life with a £5K investment and a strong belief in the untapped potential of conversational marketing, before conversational marketing was really a thing. Despite our shoestring funding, we won our first client at the end of 2012 and worked 18-hour days (on chat!) until we could afford to hire a client team. 2013 We hired our first team After more clients joined, we were relieved to be in a position to hire a team. The founders’ experience of being on chat helped identify exactly the team we needed. They had to be native-English speaking and natural at engaging with prospective customers through chat. 2016 Our focus on innovation grew The chat technology we were using had always been good, but we knew that in order for us to truly take conversation up a level we needed a team of developers. This kicked off our long-standing history of enhancing our clients, customers, and agents' experience with market-leading technology. 2017 The Chat Shop Inc was born Due to increasing demand for our solutions from North America, we officially incorporated our US business, The Chat Shop Inc. This enabled us to grow our US team and client base, building our strong presence on both sides of the pond. 2018 First acquisition The Chat Shop had partnered with Jeff Wilson and the team over at Ortho Engagement a few years prior, successfully delivering chat for over 100 Orthodontists in America, Canada, and Australia. When the opportunity arose, it made sense for The Chat Shop to take over ownership of the business as our very first acquisition. 2020 The big plan We took a step back and really thought about what had driven our, and our clients' success to date. This led to a whole new approach to our solutions - still very much human-led, and tech-enabled, with further investment into our strategy, people, and technology. 2021 ... and beyond Ten years and millions of chats later, our youthful instincts have been vindicated. Conversational marketing and onsite chat are now well-established as brilliantly effective ways to drive customer engagement and boost conversion rates.

We are a sum of why we do what we do, and together we create and do truly magical things. Here are our stories as to why we do. Sid Madge, Founder, Madgician Sid Madge I absolutely love brands. And, for over 30 years, I worked for and led some of Europe’s most renowned creative agencies, supporting many of the world’s biggest companies. Then, in 2015, my life changed forever. While giving a talk to a group of teenagers I was shocked to hear how they thought about and described themselves. For many, this lack of self-esteem had spiralled into a cycle of anxiety and depression. I’d already seen how brands could transform the fortunes and futures of businesses - and that sparked an idea: what if I could use this knowledge to bring out the potential in others? That’s how Meee began. Now I use the ideas and methods of branding to inspire, educate and challenge the deep-set beliefs that hold us back. I use words, imagery, colour, numbers, music and a variety of sense-based tools to change the way people see, think and feel. Not just to transform their outlook on the world, but to help them make sense of what can seem like insurmountable life challenges. Today the purpose of Meee is to inspire everyone, everywhere, every day to find, live and give their magic. And so far, we’ve helped change the lives of over 20,000 people. My ambition is to take Meee to millions more, bringing that spark of magic to individuals, organisations and communities around the world. To spread the Meee message, I’ve built a team of (not so) like-minded individuals - from mavericks to misfits, disruptors to developers. Joss Mathieson, The people magic guy Joss Mathieson Do you know that moment when the penny drops, the lightbulb goes on and suddenly the future looks brighter? When you realise that there is opportunity, where before there seemed to be barriers? Where you feel a surge in confidence and believe this is your moment to shine? That’s what gets me out of bed every morning, helping people to experience that moment and appreciate that they are truly capable of magic. When people feel they are in a safe space, they can think boldly and build the courage to step out of their comfort zone and into their zone of genius. And it’s even better when people in a team or a whole organisation do it together, which amplifies their magic and rubs off on others. During a 25-year career working for a number of complex and diverse international companies like Barclays and GlaxoSmithKline, I’ve been lucky enough to work with lots of magical people, learning from them, driving for better and inspiring others to join in. When I first met Sid in the mid-noughties, we found a spark which has endured and got stronger to this day. It’s a joy to use that spark, the amazing tools and life-changing experience of Meee to help lots more people be their best selves.
