OUR MISSION Our mission is to welcome visitors to our farm free of charge, and run evidence-based programmes that have a significant positive impact on both visitors and volunteers in the community. “ If it wasn’t for the farm I don’t know where I’d be now. I’m so grateful for everything they did for me. — Lily, a former volunteer WHAT WE'VE ACHIEVED Volunteers c. 66 volunteers in 2016 – including people with learning disabilities, mental health issues and difficulties dealing with loss and isolation. As a result of volunteering at the farm: MENTAL HEALTH: 96% feel less worried and anxious PHYSICAL HEALTH: 89% feel physically more fit EMPLOYMENT: 71% developed their career Visitors c. 40,000 visitors in 2016 – including parents of young children, people with mental health issues/learning disabilities and people who feel disconnected from nature and their community. As a result of visiting the farm: MENTAL HEALTH: 88% feel less worried and anxious INCLUSION: 92% feel a bigger part of the community EDUCATION: 82% know more about animals and looking after them

We are a unique collaborative project providing free legal information, advice, representation and advocacy support to self-identifying women in Scotland affected by violence and abuse (read our inclusion statement here). Our services include legal and advocacy helplines, legal advice surgeries, advocacy support and legal representation. You can find a list of our services here. Our mission Our Centre strives to fill the gaps that exist between women’s experiences of gender-based violence and their ability to access justice by working with specialist solicitors and experienced advocacy workers. Informed by our direct work with victims/survivors of violence and abuse, we seek to influence national policy, research and training to improve processes and systems, and ultimately to improve justice outcomes for women who have experienced gender-based violence. The Scottish Women’s Rights Centre is a collaboration between Rape Crisis Scotland, JustRight Scotland and the University of Strathclyde Law Clinic. Our core services are funded by the Justice Department of the Scottish Government, administered by the Scottish Legal Aid Board.

It has serious implications for their academic attainment, their social networks and their mental health. Our work is rooted in investing in those futures.

This can be the case for new teachers and those that are more experienced.  There are so many behaviour systems out there that promise to change behaviour but unfortunately, they don't build long-lasting relationships and trust. I have been teaching at a challenging inner-city school for the past 6 years and have built a solid understanding of these environments. I have come across a whole range of behaviours I now run an alternative provision setting in a mainstream school as well as managing the SEMH needs of the school. In my training school, you can expect to receive high-level coaching that takes you on a journey on improving your understanding and implementation of behaviour support tools that actually work long term. I believe in a coaching model that provides evidence-based approaches without telling you what to do. We provide coaching for all ages from 4 onwards with competitive league football.KICK IT OUT CALLS FOR THE FOOTBALL COMMUNITY TO TAKE A STAND AGAINST DISCRIMINATION Kick It Out – Take A Stand press release FINAL – EMBARGOED UNTIL 00.01 ON SUNDAY 11th OCTOBER 2020 – Kick It Out has today launched a new campaign, called Take A Stand, which is encouraging people across the football community to take action in the battle against discrimination. Kick It Out, football’s equality and inclusion organisation, has teamed up with a range of partners to launch the initiative, including Facebook and the FA. Most football fans will have witnessed some form of discrimination in football – on the terraces, in dressing rooms or on social media – but more needs to be done to move from awareness to action. Through Take A Stand, Kick It Out want to create a culture where individuals take personal responsibility for being part of the change. That includes fans, players, managers, CEOs, stewards, governing bodies, shop assistants and social media organisations – everyone on and off the pitch. Take A Stand is both a challenge and an invitation for individuals and organisations to publicly commit to their own pledge. It is also a movement that everyone can play a part in. Facebook is supporting Take A Stand by launching initiatives focussed on action, and centred on reporting and education. It is building a new automated Messenger service, for when fans are back in stadiums, enabling people to report matchday discrimination directly to Kick It Out. Facebook is also launching a new education programme targeted directly at fans of all ages. It is piloting this new training module with anti-hate charity, HOPE not Hate, delivered through clubs’ community and fan engagement programmes. The pilot will be launched in close collaboration with the England national teams, Derby County F.C. and Portsmouth F.C., before being rolled-out further in 2021.

The Sapphire Project Organisation is an exciting new modern-day service for adults age 18 and over living with a learning disability. We want to understand what people want from their support, and to make sure that families and friends know how we will help them to make it happen. We offer a unique learning environment for our service users and although support needs may differ, we know that with the right support, people with learning disabilities can live full and meaningful lives. Aims Our aim is for service users to develop competence, respect, dignity, responsibility, independence and to promote their inclusion within the local working community. Working closely with service users we aim to find out what their passions are and wherever possible assist with overcoming challenges and removing barriers in order to enable them to live more fulfilling lives. What we offer Service users are offered the opportunity to develop transferable work skills, enterprise skills, independence skills, practical skills and social skills all within a variety of settings while being supported by qualified staff. Our project includes a café, a licensed bar and a kitchen garden all of which is open to the general public. We also offer a opportunities to develop general maintenance and wood working skills. Service users also have the opportunity to carry out a number of routine domestic tasks to help develop their independent living skills. These include, planning and shopping, cooking meals, basic housekeeping, getting out and about in the community and residential experiences. We support people in developing work and independence skills whilst having fun and making friends. Our aim is to break down barriers and to promote inclusion within the local community. What Makes Us Unique? We want to offer people the chance to learn valuable life skills along with work skills and our base at Hillsborough Arena provides us with numerous opportunities to achieve this objective. We offer an attractive, non-institutional environment with a team of committed staff with a very low rate of staff turnover, so people can develop strong, beneficial relationships over many years. We also offer a dedicated key worker to overlook and support the needs of both the service user along with the parent/carers. We want to understand what people want from their support, and make sure that families and friends know how we will help them to make it happen.
