It was born from two mothers who believed in the value of immersing their
children into the outdoors, and following their inquiries with the natural
world. Roots and Boots is a Nova Scotia based not-for-profit society governed by
a Board of Directors. Roots and Boots leaders are all practitioners with Forest
School Canada. Kellie Allen has completed their week-long, in-house practitioner
training and all the required correspondence work to be certified as a Forest
School Practitioner. All group leaders are qualified in first aid and have a
valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening which includes a
Child Abuse Registry check.
