I created CNC Poker after spending over five years managing bitB Staking – a hugely successful poker staking team lead by Patrick “Pads1161” Leonard, Sam “€urop€an” Vousden, and Tomi “elmerixx” Brouk. They have been great mentors for me over that period, and I’ve worked closely with them on a day-to-day basis, allowing me to learn indispensable knowledge and skills from three of the smartest minds in poker today. The NRCPD is the national regulator of over 1,600 language service professionals including British Sign Language/English Interpreters and Translators, Lipspeakers, Notetakers, Speech to Text Reporters and Interpreters for Deafblind People. Our primary purpose is to protect Deaf and Hard of Hearing people and maintain public confidence in language services across the UK. To achieve this, we register language service professionals and set the minimum standards for them, investigate complaints about their fitness to practise, and work to ensure the quality of language services nationally.
Combining 25 years’ expertise as a charity lawyer and governance trainer with frontline experience from a range of voluntary leadership sector roles, I deliver trustee training, diversity and inclusion training and provide board support. Having qualified as a Barrister in 1994 I left the bar to become a specialist charity lawyer. I worked at the ‘coal-face’ as an in-house lawyer for a registered charity, Interchange Trust, and then on the other side of the fence as a legal advisor at the Charity Commission, before going into private practice. I have worked for various law firms including as Head of Charities for a major north east firm. My mission now is to support charity trustees and directors of NfP boards and empower them with the knowledge they need to carry out their roles with greater impact.
