calday grange grammar school
Wirral
About Our School Calday Grange Grammar School has served the community of Wirral
since 1636. We currently offer a free, grammar school education to nearly 1400
students, with approximately 200 boys in each of Years 7 to 11 and a mixed Sixth
Form of nearly 500 students. Access to the school in Year 7 is through an 11
plus examination coordinated by the local authority. Students who wish to join
the school in other year groups are required to undertake a computer-based test
and achieve a set threshold. Access to the Sixth Form is based upon GCSE grades.
Whilst the school recognises that academic achievement is a priority, we
strongly believe that our role is to develop people who can take their place in,
and make a significant contribution to, society. The school offers a wide range
of activities that seek to develop the potential that all our students possess.
We base everything that we do on the principle of mutual respect.
