I run two different classes depending on your child’s age. Jolly Babies is from
newborn up to roughly 15 months and Music with Mummy classes which are from 15
months to pre school age. Jolly Babies is all about having a little fun. The
songs we sing are usually original but there are also some well known ones in
there too. All the songs are short and very sweet making them easy to learn.
Babies love repetition so each song is sung usually at least twice. In each
class, there is singing in the main, a short percussion section where the babies
get to have a play with some basic instruments such as egg shakers, bells, hand
drums etc. Finally, at the end of the class, there is a very short listening
section where we turn the lights off and have a cuddle with their special grown
up. I usually do bubbles during this part too which they love. Music with Mummy
classes are very similar but we introduce a theme each half term as well as a
basic musical concept, for example, loud and quiet, short and long etc. For this
class the children need to be confident on their feet as it is a little more
involved than Jolly Babies. Both classes are 30 minutes long and there is a
maximum of 10 children per class.
