CSAWS is a team of proactive, passionate and committed Education Welfare Officers with collective Education Welfare and school experience of over 70 years and expert knowledge in all aspects of Education Welfare and Safeguarding. We are committed to achieving better outcomes for children by securing regular attendance at school. We understand the reasons behind non-school attendance can be varied and complex. We can offer support to identify and improve school attendance including reviewing, refining and advising on school approaches and processes. We can develop clear action plans for schools through data analysis and audits to support you in understanding the attendance issues in your school community and how to improve your whole school attendance. We are currently commissioned to work with a large number of primary and secondary schools, Pupil Referral Units, alternative providers, post-16 providers and nurseries across the Midlands area in raising their attendance both overall and in individual cases. We offer a bespoke service to all provisions and in addition to attendance packages offer safe and well checks, strategic support, data analysis and staff supervision. Our team are all DBS checked, up-to-date with appropriate Multi Agency Safeguarding training and committed to ongoing professional development, further training and each have Professional Supervision for their own practice. CSAWS Ltd is a fully insured company, covered for Professional Liability.

These include our “Scheduled Open Courses” run at the venues detailed below. These scheduled courses are ideal for companies and individuals who wish to send candidates to us. We are also happy to run our First Response (First Aid) Ltd training courses at customer’s premises if preferred. All we require from our venues is adequate space for us to deliver our courses to a specified number of people.

Teaching has always been Lian’s passion. At the age of 18 Lian started teaching dance which developed into establishing her own highly successful dance school Learning Curves Dance which she ran for 20 years. Lian has had numerous highlights during her teaching career from choreographing team performances at London theatres including Her Majesty’s Theatre, Sadler’s Wells and The Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham performance venues such as the NEC and the Symphony Hall. She has also travelled with her students overseas to Europe and Asia performing at Disneyland Paris and Beijing Theatre, China. Lian has trained over 500 students for team performances, prepared over 3000 students for 32 IDTA examination sessions and received Freestyle Scholarship Awards nominations for 5 professional candidates and 18 amateur students. She has judged at numerous ADFP Freestyle Dance Competitions, including the prestigious international Disco Kid Competition at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Lian was honoured to lecture for the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association), hosting amateur and professional workshops. She has produced, directed and choreographed over 16 theatre shows, raised over £10,000 for charity, formed the successful Performing Arts Project with sister school StarStruck Performing Arts Academy, taught GCSE dance at Arden School, cultivated successful relationships and taught classes in over 16 Primary and Secondary Schools in Solihull and Warwickshire and launched a second Dance School in Southam, Warwickshire. After further professional development and with a keen interest in anatomy and physiology, Lian qualified to train candidates to professional teacher level. To date she has trained 26 individuals to professional dance teacher status, 5 of whom have received IDTA Scholarship nominations and 1 student who has gained the 2020 John Dilworth Scholarship in the Freestyle category. Now Lian has added yoga to her long list of qualifications and is a Yoga Alliance Professional 250 hour qualified Teacher. Lian enjoys teaching Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga. Lian successfully teaches online and face to face classes. Yoga and dance complement each other beautifully and through her training Lian can bring elements of each discipline to enhance her teaching.

In 1968 at a meeting of the Parish Council of Aldingbourne it was agreed that there was a definite need to build a modern community centre to serve the village. 12 years later, and at a cost of £100,000,David Purley Aldingbourne Community Centre was completed. It was officially opened on 29th March 1980 by local racing driver David Purley the son of Charles Purley, the founder of LEC Refrigeration. The Centre is built on the playing fields originally managed by the Aldingbourne Sports Council. In 1972 the Sports Council formed the 200 Club to raise money for the project. Concise Construction Ltd of Barnham were given the contract and together with Mr Peter Lovett plans were drawn up. inside-hall-2 Planning permission was first granted in 1977 but was revised in 1978. With grants from the Department of the Environment, West Sussex County Council, Arun District Council the Association were all set to begin work. But it was not to be as straightforward as that. Problems arose concerning an access road and time ticked by. With the knowledge that if work didn’t start on site by a certain time they would lose their grants, the association pressed to reach an agreement. inside-bar-1 Eventually, in March 1979 an agreement was signed and work started immediately. The delay however, had cost the Association money. The original quote of £72,000 for the construction of the building no longer applied and the new cost was set up as £93,931.38p. By the time internal fittings, alarms and other equipment had been fitted the centre cost £100,000.

Physical assessments take place with Phil Birch at Dance Clinic, Carver St. Nicholson School Of Dance works closely with Dance Clinic. To gain the most out of your assessment it is recommended that you have a ballet assessment which includes a written report, plus a physical screening. A bespoke conditioning programme is then offered to you.
