This two-day Site supervision safety training scheme (SSSTS) course is designed for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities. The course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It is delivered interactively including group and individual activities. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures, and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce. The Aim of the course is to help site supervisors to supervise health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions and within the context of their role. They should develop an understanding of responsibility and accountability for site health, safety and welfare of workers on site and be able to recognise that a safe site is efficient, economical, productive and environmentally friendly. At the start of each course, delegates will be provided with their own copy of the mandatory publications: (Construction site supervision and Toolbox talks) The course is broken down into 5 learning areas Legal and management Health and welfare General safety High risk activities Environment

The course concentrates on management skills and techniques for creating an effective supervisory relationship and process. Emphasis is placed on interpersonal skills. Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision

Clinical supervision is the term used to describe a formal process of professional support and provides an opportunity for staff to: reflect on and review their practice, develop their analytical skills and change or modify their practice.

The NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Construction Site Supervision is appropriate for individuals who work as a Construction Site Supervisor/ Foreman or Assistant Site Manager in the construction sector and are looking to become eligible for the Gold ‘Site Supervisor’ CSCS Card. Our team will discuss the qualification process with you prior to signing up in order to ensure that you will be able to complete the qualification. Every candidate is assigned a competent and experienced assessor who will provide advice and guidance throughout the programme to ensure that candidates are supported in the successful completion of the qualification. The NVQ Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision is appropriate for individuals who supervise others in a construction area and are looking to become eligible for the Gold CSCS Card. The qualification modules will be discussed and agreed upon with each individual candidate to ensure that the qualification will be suited to your job role. Each candidate will be allocated a designated and qualified assessor to provide support throughout the qualification and provide information, advice and guidance to candidates in order that they can achieve the qualification. CSCS Cards Candidates can undertake the CSCS test and obtain the red (Provisional) CSCS card on signing up for various qualifications. The red card can usually be obtained within 7 to 14 days and can be used to access the construction sites for a period of 12 months. On completion of the qualification candidates can upgrade or renew their CSCS Card to the full 5 year card.

Gold CSCS Card NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Construction Site Supervision This qualification is for managers on-site who are working as a site supervisor or assistant site manager. You should be liaising with contractors, supervisors, and construction site management, organising resources, and have responsibility for health and safety and quality control such as inductions, briefings toolbox talks and inspections. You may work across one or more of the following Pathways: Building and Civil Engineering Highways Maintenance Residential Development Conservation Demolition Induction - As soon as you register you will be given a dedicated assessor. They will arrange an induction and together with your assessor you'll get to decide on the pathway which best proves your competency. The induction is used to plan out how you will gather the relevant evidence to complete the course. During the course - The assessor will work with you to build a portfolio of evidence that allows you to showcase your knowledge, skills and experience. The assessor will also regularly review and provide you with feedback. This will allow you to keep on track to progress quickly. You will be assessed through various methods such as observations, written questions, evidence generated from the workplace, professional discussion and witness testimonials. On completion - Once all feedback has been agreed, the Internal Quality Assurer will review your portfolio and in agreement with the assessor your certificate will be claimed.
