At South Wolds we get the balance right between outstanding exam results and wider personal development. Our superb performance in exam league tables is balanced with a vast range of exciting opportunities that aim to develop the whole child. This is what makes South Wolds unique. Behaviour is outstanding at the Academy. Our behaviour management policy is very clear on our expectations of all of our students and sets out what will happen when these are not met. All pupils are entitled to know that their work and learning will not be disrupted. We also recognise and celebrate hard work and good attitudes through a comprehensive reward system, achievement assemblies and awards evenings. We work closely with all of our partner Primary Partner schools to enable us to build on the achievements of everybody at Key Stage 2. In 2009 Margaret Saint decided she wanted to set up a performing arts Saturday group which would be a friendly and affordable environment for children to come and learn to perform, make friends and gain confidence. Originally set up as part of a franchise she soon realised that she couldn't offer everything she wanted to and so she decided to start up a completely independent school, and the Nottingham Academy of Performing Arts was born. In the past 11 years we have helped children and adults to grow in confidence and get the chance to perform in a variety of different styles of production and above all have fun. INFORMATION LOCATION We are currently located at the Redhill Academy in Arnold, Nottingham where we have access to several different rehearsal spaces and a stage on which we perform many of our productions. There is easy bus route access as well as parking on site. Classes run every Saturday (apart from August and 2 weeks over Christmas). Please see our classes page for more information. Our Pre-Primary Ballet Classes (for boys and girls) are aimed at slightly older children. Each week children begin to learn the basics of ballet as well as continuing to develop posture and coordination of motor skills. The school follow the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) syllabus where children have the opportunity to work towards examinations and medals (it is however not compulsory and children are more than welcome to just participate and move up to the next level without assessments taking place). Alongside learning the IDTA syllabus children will also participate in other ballet class exercises and activities designed by the Teachers to help build imagination, creativity and social skills.

Tranquil Plants are bringing the inspirational and health benefits of plants back into our world by working with Kokedama. Stefan Thomas, Tranquil Plants’ professional ‘plant whisperer’, has a personal passion unlike anyone else after being inspired by botanical decor when his father built 13 tropical houses in Australia. He is an expert in the Japanese art form of Kokedama, and his talks are beautifully illustrated with sparkling inspiration, intriguing history and horticultural allure.  When Stefan started his journey to founding Tranquil Plants, he was inspired by the fact that Kokedama had no pots but still looked beautiful and functioned just as well, if not better, than plants with pots. The more he started to play around with the idea, making moss balls and watering them in his bathtub, the more he realised how easy they were to look after. He discovered that, unlike normal houseplants, Kokedama have an in-built barometer to test whether they need watering: simply lift your plant. If it’s light, it’s ready to water! Stefan now shares his passion with the world.

We deliver exciting and creative maths sessions in the form of after-school clubs, workshops, holiday clubs, parties and parent and toddler classes. Set up in 2013, we help children to develop positive attitudes towards maths while building their confidence when working with numbers. Through our amazing and creative activities, we demonstrate the mind-blowing wonder of maths, which stimulates their natural desire to learn. We’re so positive about numbers your child will come home full of everything they have learned, wanting more!

West Bridgford Bowling Club | Friendly and Welcoming Bowling Club West Bridgford Bowling Club is a long-standing outdoor bowling club having been formed in 1904. In 1923 it moved to its current premises in Rectory Road, West Bridgford, where it shares clubhouse facilities with Musters Lawn Tennis Club. The two Clubs form Musters Sports and Social Club. The Club has an excellent, professionally maintained, bowling green which was enhanced in 2014 by the rebuilding of its banks and ditches to bring it up to the full World Bowls standards.
