I hold an Undergraduate Certificate in Veterinary Medicine (UGCertVMed) and a Foundation Degree in Applied Canine Behaviour and Training with Distinction. I live with my assistance dog Bramble, Dalmatian Ember and an array of other creatures. I am insured and qualified as a dog trainer. I am a full member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (MAPDT 01504), a professional dog trainer member of the Pet Professional Guild, a licensed assessor and instructor for the Pet Dog Ambassador Scheme, and a Certified Trick Dog Instructor and Animal Actor Certified Evaluator for Do More With Your Dog. We are also a Kennel Club Listed Status Club offering the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme. I compete and train with my dogs in multiple disciplines, including competitive obedience, rally, heelwork to music/freestyle,, agility, discdog, canine parkour and trick training. Bramble has had much success in the competitive dog sports, including: Travelling reserve for the Midlands team at the Crufts Inter-regional Rally Competition 2020 (2nd place.) Young Kennel Club Rally team, Crufts 2020. UK Team for the Inaugural International Rally Competition (1st place.) Representing level 4 for the Midlands team at the Crufts Inter-regional Rally Competition 2022- Individual winner. Qualifying for and winning the Kennel Club Special Pre-Beginner Obedience Stakes finals at Crufts 2022.

Research has now revealed how our capacities for compassion evolved, how it works in our bodies and our brains, and when cultivated, is a source of courage and wisdom to address suffering. The definition of compassion used by the Compassionate Mind Foundation is "...a sensitivity to suffering in self and others with a commitment to try to alleviate and prevent it." Compassionate courage lies in the willingness to see into the nature and causes of suffering - in ourselves, others and the human condition. The Compassionate Mind Foundation was founded as an international charity in 2006 by Professor Paul Gilbert and colleagues including Prof Deborah Lee, Dr Mary Welford, Dr Chris Irons, Dr Ken Goss, Dr Ian Lowens, Dr Chris Gillespie, Diane Woollands and Jean Gilbert. We believe that one of the greatest challenges facing humanity is how to stimulate compassionate ways of thinking and problem solving for the benefit of all. The Compassionate Mind Foundation promotes an evolutionary and bio-psycho-social informed approach to compassion which now forms the basis of a psychotherapy (CFT) and Compassionate Mind Training. The last 15 years have seen an expanding evidence base for a compassion focused approach to the alleviation of mental health difficulties and promoting wellbeing. It is now being used internationally in various settings including hospitals, prisons, schools and businesses. ‍
