Formed as Derby YMCA in 1847, our head office (known as The Campus) moved to the current location on London Road in Wilmorton in 1967. Derby YMCA became YMCA Derbyshire in 2004 to reflect our growing activities across the county. We now operate as a charity across Derbyshire – in Derby, Chesterfield, Ilkeston. In the near future, we aim to further expand our reach within the county. We are affiliated to the National and international YMCA Movement.

Central Education & Training is a voluntary sector, community based training and education provider. The organisation primarily works with adults who are economically and/or socially disadvantaged, and therefore statistically less likely to be economically active or to be participating in education and learning through traditional routes. CET’s aim is to enable these adults to access foundation or entry level education and training which will provide them with new skills and increased self-esteem and confidence with which they can use to progress to employment, further education opportunities, or improve career prospects. Indeed we are a “Stepping Stone” and in some cases a “life line” for people looking to build a more rewarding future, because we provide accessible education in an environment which is both non-threatening and culturally empathetic.

We are a government funded Community Interest Company (CIC) who are experts in sport and education. With a background of over 20 years in this sector, we are creating the next generation of sports professionals and leaders. Currently working in partnership with 70+ basketball, rugby and cricket clubs nationwide. Having worked hard to build relationships with the local Nottingham community, we have been able to provide high quality sports related qualifications, advice and mentorship. Helping Kids Achieve is about empowering young people, especially those aged between 5 and 17 with the skills needed to become leaders by building a better future for the next generation. With the help of a team of charities and organisations, we will be able to achieve this goal together. From humble beginnings, Helping Kids Achieve has been featured on Notts TV, The Nottingham Post, BBC Radio Nottingham, BBC East Midlands and even have won an award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year due to the work we provide for the community. We primarily operate in Bulwell, Bestwood and St. Anns, where we focus on sports, arts & crafts, music and dance to create a fun environment for everyone involved. Founded in 2017 by Amjad Hussain and Kafeel Shafique. They have both worked in immigration, asylum and human rights law including working on cases involving those students affected by the 2014 TOEIC scandal, in which thousands of students had their visas curtailed and were unfortunately deported or forced to return to their country of origin. Many students had their livelihoods destroyed by this unfortunate incident and were left in an extremely unfortunate position meaning their educational development was either delayed or completely taken away from them and they could not financially afford to study again so quickly. We pride ourselves on ensuring our clients are happy and satisfied with not only our service but with their chosen institutions and courses. ISAB aims to do as much as we can in directing them the right way and hope that our assistance can ease their minds whilst they are making such a big decision in what will not only shape their future careers but also their life.
