Overview Appreciative Inquiry is a form of action research that collects people’s stories of best practices. We can use these best practices as a way to initiate organisational change. This course will guide attendees through the process of Appreciative Inquiry (AI) and give them the techniques to succeed in using the AI system. This course will benefit anyone that leads change and wants to create positive dialogue that leads to improvements within their organisation. Description David Cooperrider, Suresh Srivastva, and their colleagues at Case Western Reserve University developed AI in the 1980s. According to them, the aim of Appreciative Inquiry is to help the organisation in: Envisioning a collectively desired future Realising that vision in ways that successfully translate intention into reality and beliefs into practices The AI approach can be applied in almost all groups of people and once the process starts, the change is put in motion. The appreciative approach works in individual conversations among colleagues, managers and employees. AI consultants around the world are increasingly using an appreciative approach to bring about collaborative and strengths-based change. This course will provide attendees with the means to effectively develop the skills of managers for the benefit of their organisation. They will be taken through the full process of appreciative inquiry; developing a wide understanding of the tools and techniques required to effectively improve communication and affect change. The 4D Model: Summary Task – Review of learning and knowledge check. The Change Process – Exploring Dr. Kotter’s 8-step change process and how it can support the AI approach. Rooms of Change – Understanding feelings and attitudes to change, using this interesting and memorable model. Using an activity to help participants consider their own ‘change position’ and what this might mean for them. Strategies for Managing Change – A simple set of skills to help overcome the challenges faced by people trying to implement change. Applying these strategies to the 4D Model and Appreciative Inquiry. Our telephone training takes place in your normal working situation, using the actual telephones and software, and the programming software clients that trainees will use when fully trained. Our trainers will travel anywhere in the world to train you face to face, or if you prefer, we can offer our whole training catalogue remotely using Teams or Zoom. On-site and live remote telecoms training sessions have a general reputation as most effective for trainees to continue to efficiently carry out their telecoms usage, programming and own in-house training of future new employees. On-site training involves employees training at their place of work while they are doing their actual job, or in pre-organised classroom training sessions, based around hands-on interaction, trainer Q&A and all carried out using your own site telephone system. Our telephone trainers also offer consultations on your new or current telephone systems: looking into how you currently use your system, making suggestions on how programming could be tweaked and changed to improve your current usage, how to improve on call handling methods, and informing you of additional products which may be available on your system that you may not be aware of. This could help improve the level of communication across your company and interactions with your customers. We believe telephone handset and voicemail training sessions are essential to the smooth and efficient running of your company, making sure your staff are aware of all the features and benefits that the telephone handsets can offer, and ensuring calls are dealt with quickly and effectively. System administration training is available to teach new administrators how to manage and control a variety of system features. This type of training is especially important when new administrators have little or no previous telecom knowledge or experience, but it is equally important at all levels to ensure the new system is utilised to its maximum capability. Administration days or Call Centre Software training days take one full day to complete. I have over 20 years of experience in the behaviour and training of dogs and am a member of the Kennel Club Accredited Instructors. I have a Diploma in Canine Behaviour, and am a full member of INTO Dogs, ICAN and The Pet Professional Guild. My passion is working with dogs to help them reach their full potential in a fun, fear free way, whether they are working and competing dogs, fearful rescues or family unit members. I work completely on a positive reward basis, and as an ex Veterinary Nurse I also understand the anatomical and physical restraints that some dogs have, and will work with owners to overcome the problems. I have a special interest in arthritic dogs as per my Canine Arthritis Management qualification. As both a trainer and a behaviourist, I am fully insured and offer both group classes or one to one behaviour assessments and training. Debbie Goodwin Pawsitive Dog Training I run a Rescue and Rehoming Service for my breed, Papillons, and I have extensive knowledge on rescue dog behaviour, particularly the fearful foreign dogs. I regularly, successfully compete in agility, scentwork, showing and obedience myself. Behaviour consultations typically last an hour (or more if needed) to enable me to understand your dogs issues, to suggest a way forward and to start a programme. This will be followed up with a full written history and plan. Follow up visits very much depend on the issue, the implementation of the behaviour modification plan and the individual dog. General Training for dogs and puppies can be in either a class situation or one to one training. Some dogs do really well in class, whilst others need some one to one training first, especially where a class situation is too stressful. Again, it is very much dependent on what you wish to achieve with your dog, the dog itself, and its progression as to how many sessions you will need.
