sandwich medieval centre: hours

We plan to bring together all groups and individuals in Sandwich who are interested in the late medieval period who wish to contribute to the living history of Sandwich.We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, a CIO, formed in 2018 with the objective registered with the Charity Commission: To advance education for the public benefit on matters to do with the late medieval period, ie approx. 1330 to 1480 with a special focus on the heritage of Sandwich Town, Kent, in particular but not exclusively by providing a maritime and land based crafts “living museum”. Aims We plan to bring together all groups and individuals in Sandwich who are interested in the late medieval period who wish to contribute to the living history of Sandwich. The base for our activities is the wooden boatyard building on the slipway by the Quay, the Sandwich Medieval Centre. A special focus is engaging with young people. In addition to the centre being an historically interesting visitor centre, it will also be the base for educating and mentoring juniors in medieval crafts and skills to ensure that the rich history of Sandwich in this period is not lost to future generations. Anna trained at the Deborah Capon College, and was also heavily influenced by her time training and working in America. She was represented by Terpsichore Entertainment in New York and worked within theatre and television. Following this she became the company's UK talent representative, responsible for identifying and guiding talented artists seeking legal employment and representation in the USA. Anna went on to train as a teacher, running her own school, the Hasland Dance Studios, for 6 years, achieving her Licentiate and Fellowship qualifications with the ISTD, and becoming a mutually recognised teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. In 2015 she became an Approved Tutor for the ISTD and created Anna Morgan Dance, offering bespoke teacher training for the Diploma in Dance Education qualification. Anna spent a number of years on the Ballet faculty at Performers College before joining Bird College as a Ballet Tutor in 2016, and is also the staff representative to the Board of Directors at Bird College. In 2021 Anna joined the teacher training faculty of the Royal Ballet School to deliver their 'Inspire' teacher training seminars in the UK and internationally. Anna is also an adjudicator for the British and International Federation of Festivals, and is on the Advisory Board for the TIRED Movement (Trying to Improve Racial Equality in Dance) Before the pandemic Anna pursued teaching and choreography throughout the UK and America, including choreographing two original works for Bailar Al Sol in New Jersey. Alongside American Company 'United We Dance' Anna is currently involved in pre-production of an original Contemporary Ballet to be performed by a brand new, international company once travel restrictions permanently ease.

The Keys that open the doors to knowledge Alex Waterton is passionate about helping people to do things the easy way, which is why he started a business revealing the secrets of the Microsoft Office applications that people use every day. “There are easier ways to do many things in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft OneNote, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project – and most people are just not aware of what’s possible,” he says. F-Keys was launched back in 1998 and became a limited company in March 2000 and the current team includes Carol Downey Microsoft Certfied Trainer, who started out originally as one of Alex’s students and worked her way up to become a Microsoft Office Specialist Instructor, and Microsoft Certfied Trainer just like Alex. Also on the team is Jo White, who was Alex’s tutor and mentor during his time at Mid-Kent College when he studied for his JEB Teaching Diploma qualification before continuing on to complete his Certificate in Education at Christ Church College Canterbury. Having developed a training suite that allows students to work in comfortable (rather than cramped) conditions, Alex and the team at F-Keys are flexible and passionate about designing the ideal learning solutions for individuals and businesses. “At F-Keys first we work to understand what a business wants to achieve and then the courses are customised and built around the learners. The focus is on how to make the most of the features and functionality within Microsoft Office so that the processes and people using them are ultimately more efficient and productive.” One of the most important aspects of the F-Keys training is to encourage people to become more confident and aware in their use of these programs, so that they begin to find their way around more easily to solve their own solutions rather than disturbing fellow staff members or simply following the manual blindly.
