The Ahmed Iqbal Ullah RACE Centre and Education Trust is a specialist open-access library and archive, focusing on the study of race, migration and thinking about race, anti-racist activism and the fight for social justice. We are recognised as a centre of excellence in oral history work, Global Majority community-led collecting and ethical community engagement. We work ethically and sensitively with Global Majority communities to explore, document and share their histories, cultures and experiences. We work with the heritage sector to deliver ethical and anti-racist collections-based practice, and to build anti-racist organisations.

The National Youth Concert Band was founded to nurture talented young woodwind, brass and percussion players of all backgrounds from across the UK, and as a flagship for promoting the wind band and its vibrant and varied repertoire. Founded by Jonathan Parkes, Kathryn Wood and Jonathan Watkins in 2018, our first course was held during Easter 2019 at the Old Swinford Hospital school in Stourbridge. The annual residential course is open to musicians aged 12-18 with a minimum of Grade 7 standard and concerts are held in venues around the country.

Swing Dancing is a term used for a collection of vintage dances dating from the 1920s/30s/40s which are danced to Swing music. The dances frequently included under this banner are: – The Lindy Hop – Charleston – Jazz – Balboa – Collegiate Shag Each with different origins, these dances found an equal meaning to the music of some of the greatest bands and singers of the early 20th Century including Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Chick Webb, Duke Ellington and many, many more. Mobility is extremely high. There are currently 23 different languages spoken at Gorsefield. The proportion of pupils who are disadvantaged is significantly higher than the national average, as is the proportion of pupils with an education, health and care plan (EHCP). The school is a UNICEF Rights Respecting (Silver) school.
