  I am Hannah Wiles, a Manchester based fine artist and furniture restorer. Having completed an arts degree and worked in the industry for a few years, I decided my mission would be to use my design skills and love of last century furniture to create stunning contemporary pieces. I saw furniture of amazing design and materials discarded as old fashioned. I knew in my bones we could do better and that we deserved better. I determined only to use environmentally sound products in the process. It is my absolute belief that our homes should mirror the beauty of the natural world, without damaging it and so Tread Softly was born. Creating gorgeous sustainable furniture that ‘doesn’t cost the earth’.

Maisie Smith is a designer living and working in Manchester, who specialises in metalwork. Maisie graduated from Manchester School of Art with a degree in Three Dimensional Design. During her time studying, she took an interest in silversmithing, focussing on traditional techniques like raising and forging. In her work, she explores the connection between human and object, playing with the notion of function and encouraging her audience to question objects they interact with on a daily basis. Since graduating, Maisie has found fulfillment in teaching and sharing techniques as much as practicing them. In the future, she hopes to focus her attention on projects that explore the different ways art and design can bring communities together.

My Background I received my BA from the Open University in Childhood and youth studies and continued on to receive my Teaching degree from London Met university. Having qualified on the Google level 1 and 2 fundamental programme I am a newly minted Google Trainer and will move on to Innovator programme. I firmly believe learning never stops. My Experience I have been involved in teaching for the past 20 years from young children to adults. I have set up a technology infrastructure in my current school, fundraised for 1:1 devices for our pupils and trained staff in our school on the usage and integration of technology in the classroom. My journey now is as an educational consultant to help other schools not to make costly errors integrating technology into their classrooms.

Hi, I'm Bec and welcome to Voyage MCR. A place where we can work together to provide you with the tools and confidence to take on life's journey. Since I can remember, I have always had a passion for helping and supporting others. This passion, along with my strong interest in both the conscious and subconscious mind, mental health, and psychology, have led to my journey as a mindset and wellbeing coach. I was once told, 'find passion, find purpose' so that is what I have done. I was an eager psychology student with a dream of becoming a clinical psychologist. I completed a Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology and went on to complete a Master's degree in Clinical and Health Psychology. In between both degree's, I completed a mental health placement in Sri Lanka, went travelling around parts of Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, and worked and lived abroad. However, as time went on and as my mind opened due to all of these experiences, I realised the 'dream' of becoming a clinical psychologist, was in fact never my dream at all. Although I gained valuable experience within clinical, my true passion has always been positive psychology, which teaches us the power of shifting one's perspective. This realisation led me to complete a practitioner and master practitioner course in NLP and hypnotherapy and find my purpose as a coach. My goal now is to help others let go of their limiting beliefs, transform their mindset, build confidence and resilience, improve mental wellbeing and give people the tools to lead a happier and more fulfilling life. Imam Abdul Hafeez Siddique is the Founder and CEO of The Flowhesion Foundation. He is an experienced, qualified Muslim Chaplain who studied at a traditional Islamic seminary in Bolton. Abdul graduated from the seminary at the age of 17 making him, at the point of qualification, one of the youngest Imam’s in Britain. Post qualification, he serves as a Muslim Chaplain at HMP Wymott where he works as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-faith team. Abdul has a strong academic background in community cohesion and social capital research. After completing his undergraduate degree in this field, he was awarded a postgraduate scholarship by the Mariott Trust. Subsequently this led him to become the first person in the Northwest to look in to how members of the South-Asian Muslim community in Bolton interpreted the terminology and lexicology surrounding community cohesion. He asked these difficult questions to marginalised members of the bamer community. The research allowed Abdul to undertake an in-depth theoretical study of the evolution of the concept: community cohesion and his in-depth qualitative interviews formed the basis of his study that was supervised by Professor Carole Truman and Dr Margaret Boneham at the University of Bolton. This seminal study came to fruition in the form of a thesis submitted for the degree of Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) titled ‘A critical analysis of Cantle’s (2001) community cohesion model and its applicability to marginalised elements of Bolton’s south-asian Muslim Community’ that was awarded to him in 2011. In addition, Abdul has over 10 years experience working with socially excluded immigrant BAME communities and their representatives in Bolton to promote community cohesion and build social capital.

Bright stars Childcare is a family run business that opened in September 2014 by owners Sandra and Anil Ozdemir who are parents themselves so understand the importance of choosing childcare that meets your child's individual needs, helping them develop confidence through positive experiences. Sandra manages the nursery day to day and thoroughly enjoys getting to know all the children and their families. Sandra completed her foundation degree in 2019 and has 20 years’ experience working in childcare, therefore knows the benefits of working closely with her team supporting them with professional development enabling them to build on their current skills and knowledge to provide children with opportunities to develop further. Anil is the business manager and is responsible for the structure of the business, taking care of finances, budgets, fees, and improvements. Anil has regular visits to the nursery where he gets to meet children and families. Both Shelley and Danielle, the eldest daughters of the family also play an important part in Bright Stars, working with the children and completing administrative duties.
