HOLISTIC THERAPY COURSES AND TREATMENTS Manchester School of Massage has provided training in holistic therapy and alternative therapies since 1989. We offer holistic therapy courses and qualifications through the International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies and International Institute of Sports Therapists, accredited by Vocational Training Charitable Trust. The group size is kept below ten in order to keep the course informal & friendly and ensure individual attention. We also offer holistic therapy treatments to the public by qualified staff at the Manchester Therapy Centre. We offer work experience to students who have qualified. LOCATION AND MAP The school is small and independent. It is centrally located with free car parking and easy access by bus or train. There is no danger of ending up with a worthless certificate from an ‘in school exam’ or through an independent examining body. Vocational Training Charitable Trust was the first awarding body in the country to offer holistic therapy qualifications. This is the controlling body of the International Institute of Health & Holistic Therapies and International Institute of Sports Therapists. VTCT awards are operated under a rigorous procedure of assessment and verification in accordance with NVQ rules. International Institute of Health & Holistic Therapies was created to offer qualifications in Aromatherapy & Reflexology. It has now expanded into holistic massage and other areas of holistic therapy requiring international qualifications.

Business development and IP support in Greater ManchesterManchester has a long history of supporting enterprise and innovation. In 1919 the Commercial Library opened in Manchester’s Royal Exchange, providing free access to the region’s businesses and residents to information about trade and industry. The Commercial Library operated in Central Library until the re-opening of the building in 2014, when it became the Business & IP Centre Manchester. In March last year the Government announced plans to invest £13m over three years to expand and build on the success of the Business & IP Centre network, headquartered at the British Library. This major investment has enabled the British Library to widen its support network to local entrepreneurs in towns and cities across the country via a hub and spoke model centred on the 15 existing Centres across the country. Our plans are ambitious, encompassing seven neighbouring authorities, plus Lancaster and Blackpool. Our existing partnerships with many of the libraries gave us a good starting point – well established links via the long standing Ask About Business collaboration, providing information, workshops and support for startups, businesses and inventors. However the new regional expansion will also include Lancaster Library, who weren’t previously involved and have extended our geographical reach even further up the north west coastline! What does the BIPC expansion bring? Firstly there are new branded spoke BIPC’s in specific spaces within Altrincham, Ashton, Blackpool, Bolton, Bury, Lancaster, Oldham, Eccles and Stockport Libraries.

The Ethical Education Enterprise CIC was established to provide high quality and meaningful training to people in the local communities of the Greater Manchester area. Here at Ethical Education, we pride ourselves on creating a learning environment that offers each student an individual pathway. We are currently working with young people aged 14yrs + to provide additional support alongside school, focusing on their individual attributes and interests. Experience has shown us that, in reality, most people simply want meaningful work in their lives and equally meaningful social relations that come as part of being included in the wider working world. We believe that an intrinsic, if not critical part of helping people to achieve their aims is to develop productive relationships with all like-minded organisations such as third sector partners, education providers, support organisations, social housing providers and employers. We therefore can develop positive transitional pathways to ensure our learners are trained to a level which enables them to confidently progress or enter into productive, meaningful and sustainable employment. Taking a person-centred approach, we aspire to produce positive outcomes for all individuals we work with, but also for employers and society, as we believe each are mutually complimentary and achievable given the right approach.
