I create women business experts worldwide, inspire them to lead, and empower them to speak on stage. I’m honoured to be an award-winning entrepreneur and industry-leading business coach, having received recognition such as: 2013 Relationship Coach of the Year – Association for Professional Coaches, Trainers, and Consultants (APCTC) Bestselling Author – contributing author to “Coach Wisdom” Founder of Social Media Marketing Events Founder of Women In Business Events International Speaker; has spoken at business and professional conferences throughout the UK, Dubai and in the U.S. and other international markets But the most important recognition to me is the fulfillment and meaning that comes from making a positive difference in my clients lives, and building a stronger community for all of us as entrepreneurs and business leaders. More about me… I have extensive experience as a coach, consultant, social media marketing expert, and entrepreneur. I am passionate about personal and professional development and helping people get more out of life; I believe in the power of education and personal development to inspire people to make transformations in their lives. I’ve seen it happen for so many people, again and again! After several years of successful experience as a professional speaker, I realised that there was a problem in our industry. Too many speaker line-up sat industry events and conferences were all men. There were not very many women being featured to speak on stage. I knew that this was a massive problem. After all, I have worked with so many talented, amazing women who are entrepreneurs and experts and business leaders; why were there not more opportunities for women to speak on stage and be recognised as in-demand business experts? That’s why I decided to start my Des O’Connor Women In Business (WIB) events. I launched my first Women In Business event in London in September 2017, with the goal of inspiring women to become business experts, build brands, deliver value to their clients, and sell their expertise to a global audience. In the years since, I have put more than 150 people on stage at my events (many of them women, many first-time speakers) and I have helped create a more expansive community for women in business (and men too). I also provide business consulting for business experts, entrepreneurs, professional speakers, coaches, and companies that need help with social media marketing, digital marketing, webinar marketing, website development, online lead generation, and more. My clients include: Business Experts: Are you looking start a business for the first time, or build the brand of your existing business? Do you have expertise in a particular field that you’d like to learn how to make into a viable business model? I can work with you to launch your business and help you make money with your unique expertise. Professional Speakers: I empower business experts to speak on stage at my packed-out live events! Whether you are a first-time speaker, or if you already are speaking on stage as part of your business marketing or business model, I can help you get better quality speaking opportunities – including international speaking opportunities. Coaches and Corporate Trainers: I have extensive experience as a coach and professional/personal development expert. I work with some of the best coaches in the industry to help them get better clients, expand their audiences, build their brand, and get paid while they sleep with digital information products (CDs, MP3s, MP4 videos, webinars, etc.) that they can sell worldwide from their website. Authors: Do you want to write a book as part of your business and brand? I can help connect you with publishing resources, book marketing, social media marketing to boost the audience for your book, and I also produce packed-out live Book Launch events for authors. I don’t just put people on stage, I provide comprehensive marketing and brand strategy consulting to help my clients maximise their success on every level. Digital Marketing and Sales Funnels: I help my clients turn their websites into sales machines. There are lots of web designers in the world and you can often get websites designed very cheaply, but unfortunately most web designers do not understand how to systemise your clients’ journeys. I help you create a focused website marketing strategy with built-in sales funnels and CRM (customer relationship management) tools, so that you can generate a conversation with your prospective clients, lead them to sign up for further communications and a deeper relationship, and even better, to inspire your clients to order your products and services. High Quality Lead Generation and Networking: I advise and help my clients (with a variety of packages of services) on how to form their message, improve clarity of their brand and value proposition, and promote them to my extensive network of contacts to drive leads to them and take these new business leads on a journey to build relationships and increase rapport so that you can easily convert them into paying clients. Des O’Connor Shoes: I am passionate about personal and professional development. My entire career has focused on helping people to learn, get inspired, get motivated, and get better at various aspects of their professional and personal lives. So that’s why I’m excited to launch my new line of shoes, Des O’Connor Shoes. These are the world’s first shoes that empower women to improve all aspects of their personal and professional lives.

How to help young people who self harm

By Human Givens College

– how to react, support and move forward Discover how you can best help a young person who self-harms – gain the insights and skills you need to approach this distressing subject respectfully and safely, a better understanding of what self-harm is, why young people self-harm, and much more… Date: Tues 14th May 2024 Accredited CPD Certificate: 3.5 hours Length: 3.5 hours (with breaks) Start time: 9.15am GMT (until 1.30pm) "This is one of the best self-harm trainings I’ve had, honestly..."EMILY LOVE, PRIMARY PREVENTION WORKER Live Online Webinar – Join Emily Gajewski – an expert in helping people overcome self-harm – for her live webinar on Tuesday 14th May 2024. All you need is a quiet place to watch, a computer or tablet and a strong internet signal, the rest is easy. Book your place and we’ll email you confirmation – you’ll receive your Zoom link the day before the event. RECORDING – the training is recorded in case anyone experiences technical difficulties – or you can’t attend on the day – so you will also get a recording for a limited time afterwards to maximise your learning. Want to attend but can’t make this date? Then please register your interest below – and we’ll email you when a new date is available. The aim of this live online training with Emily Gajewski, a highly experienced psychotherapist specialising in treating self-harm, is to give you a thorough, in-depth understanding of why young people self-harm and how to approach/react when helping someone in both the short and long term, including the essential skills most likely to effectively support the young person on their journey to find less harmful ways of coping – the webinar focuses on the most evidence-based knowledge and skills in this area. It will also help you find ways of calming yourself in moments of overwhelm to ensure that you can be as supportive and helpful as you’d like to be. Why you should attend With the ever changing, uncertain world we live in creating a vast amount of pressure on children – emotionally and physically – more children and teenagers are experiencing extremely stressful, distressing situations, with many looking for coping mechanisms to help them deal with their negative thoughts, feelings and emotions. Self harm (including self injury) is hugely on the increase and rates are higher than ever since Covid-19 and the long periods of isolation and uncertainty young people have experienced in ‘lock downs’. A survey of 61 secondary school children by charity Place2Be, shows self-harm reports increased by 77%, from 48 to 85, from August to September 2021. Finding the right words to approach self-harming can be difficult – this online webinar was created to help you (parents, carers, teachers) approach this topic with empathy and confidence. Discovering that a young person you are caring for is self harming can be an extremely stressful situation. When we are highly emotional, it can cause us to react in desperate ways, which are often not helpful or supportive to the young person, even if our intentions are totally well-meaning. “A really helpful, caring approach – it has clarified so much for me and I can now see a sensible way forward.”MARTIN, PARENT. This course is relevant to a range of self-harming behaviours including: self-injury cutting, ripping or carving skin burning skin punching or hitting themselves scratching or pinching (including dermatillomania) poisoning themselves with tablets or liquids (or similar) over-eating and under-eating (anorexia or bulimia) biting yourself (dermatophagia) inserting objects into your body overdosing, exercising excessively pulling your hair (trichotillomania) getting into fights where you know you will get hurt What you will learn What is self-harm? Why young people self-harm How common is self-harming How to approach the subject (building rapport, trust…) How to react if your child (or any young person) tells you they are self harming (what not to say and do) The distinction between self harm and a suicide attempt The addictive element to self harm How to help a young person break the addictive pattern Helping a child in the short- and long term The influence of social media and peers Keeping your child safe Looking after yourself (managing stress, anxiety and worry for the household) Finding professional help View booking details Who this training is suitable for Parents, other family members and/or carers of children and young people who are at risk of self harming or currently self harming. Geomechanics at Well and Field Scale

By EnergyEdge - Training for a Sustainable Energy Future

About this Training Course Geomechanical evaluations are about the assessment of deformations and failure in the subsurface due to oil & gas production, geothermal operations, CO2 storage and other operations. All geomechanical evaluations include four types of modelling assumptions, which will be systematically addressed in this training, namely: 1. Geometrical modelling assumption: Impact of structural styles on initial stress and stress redistribution due to operations 2. Formation (or constitutive) behaviour: Linear elastic and non-linear behaviour, associated models and their parameters, and methods how to constrain these using 3. Initial stress: Relation with structural setting and methods to quantify the in-situ stress condition 4. Loading conditions: Changes in pore pressure and temperature on wellbore and field scale This 5 full-day course starts with the determination of the stresses in the earth, the impact of different structural styles, salt bodies, faulting and folding on the orientation of the three main principal stress components. Different (field) data sources will be discussed to constrain their magnitude, while exercises will be made to gain hands-on experience. Subsequently, the concepts of stress and strain will be discussed, linear elasticity, total and effective stress and poro-elasticity in 1D, 2D and 3D, as well as thermal expansion. Participants will be able to construct and interpret a Mohr-circles. Also, different failure mechanisms and associated models (plastic, viscous) will be discussed. All these concepts apply on a material point level. Next, geomechanics on the wellbore scale is addressed, starting with the stress distribution around the wellbore (Kirsch equations). The impact of mudweight on shear and tensile failure (fracturing) will be calculated, and participants will be able to determine the mudweight window stable drilling operations, while considering well deviation and the use of oil-based and water-based muds (pore pressure penetration). Fracturing conditions and fracture propagation will be addressed. Field-scale geomechanics is addressed on the fourth day, focussing on building a 3D geomechanical model that is fit-for-purpose (focussing on the risks that need evaluation). Here, geological interpretation (layering), initial stress and formation property estimation (from petrophysical logs and lab experiments) as well as determining the loading conditions come together. The course is concluded with interpretation of the field-wide geomechanical response to reservoir depletion with special attention to reservoir compaction & subsidence, well failure and fault reactivation & induced seismicity. Special attention is paid to uncertainties and formulating advice that impacts decision-making during development and production stages of a project. This course can also be offered through Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) format. Training Objectives Upon completing of this course, the participants will be able to: Identify potential project risks that may need a geomechanical evaluation Construct a pressure-depth plot based on available field data (density logs, (X)LOT, FIT, RFT) Employ log-based correlation function to estimate mechanical properties Produce a simplified, but appropriate geometrical (layered, upscaled) model that honours contrasts in initial stress, formation properties and loading conditions, including Construct and interpret a Mohr-circle for shear and tensile failure Calculate the mud weight that leads to shear and tensile failure (fracturing conditions) Identify potential lab experiments to measure required formation properties Describe the workflow and data to develop a field-wide fit-for-purpose geomechanical model Discuss the qualitative impact of pressure and temperature change on the risk related to compaction, well failure, top-seal integrity and fault reactivation Target Audience This course is intended for Drilling Engineers, Well Engineers, Production Technologists, Completion Engineers, Well Superintendents, Directional Drillers, Wellsite Supervisors and others, who wish to further their understanding of rock mechanics and its application to drilling and completion. There is no specific formal pre-requisite for this course. However, the participants are requested to have been exposed to drilling, completions and production operations in their positions and to have a recommended minimum of 3 years of field experience. Course Level Intermediate Trainer Your expert course leader has over 30 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, covering all geomechanical issues in the petroleum industry for Shell. Some of his projects included doing research and providing operational advice in wellbore stability, sand failure prediction, and oil-shale retortion among others. He guided multi-disciplinary teams in compaction & subsidence, top-seal integrity, fault reactivation, induced-seismicity and containment. He was also involved in projects related to Carbon Capture Storage (CCS).
