Richmond

As director of Simply First Aid, Piers Osborne has taken on this exciting role after years of preparation. Having started in the leisure industry, working with children and babies, he moved to education where he spent 9 years lecturing on a range of further, higher and community education courses for the Sports, Early Years and Community Studies departments. He left this role to get out of the class room and into informal education through outdoor activities. Almost since it’s inception Piers has been a member of Cornwall Search and Rescue Team helping to prepare it’s medics as the Medical Training Officer. He had the privilege to work with some extraordinary people until a relocation forced him to step down. He was also a member of Metropolitan Caloundra Surf Lifesaving Club and Watergate Bay Surf Lifesaving Club and an active member of the Scout Movement. As well as specialising in outdoor and wilderness first aid he continues to specialise in paediatric first aid and education. Over the years Piers has worked with a number of First Aid training providers, including the Red Cross, Royal Life Saving Society and St John Ambulance, to deliver First Aid and Casualty Care across Europe and Australia. Screenshot 2019-01-22 at 17.53.57.png Dominic Osborne With a background in emergency medical response, security solutions and both pool and beach lifeguarding, Dom was a perfect choice for Simply First Aid! He has over 15 years experience and was responsible for the Metropolitan Caloundra beaches for a number of years. During this time Dom was responsible for the ongoing development of all the beach personnel. As such he wrote and delivered bespoke training solutions and linked training to the Australian Professional Ocean Lifeguards Association scheme. Dom provides our Quality Assurance and continues to deliver training when required. He is as comfortable behind a desk as he is being lowered into shark infested seas from a rescue helicopter! He has long since left the world of lifeguarding behind and now provides both medical and security solutions for mine sites, race meets and the like. Dom has recently been to conferences on the East and West Coasts of America in order to secure opportunities for the ‘Event Medics‘ side of the business. He has competed in the Australian Open Iron Man, his 3rd ever triathlon, and was an elite cyclist. When not training, you’ll find him spending time with his family and ‘staying salty’! Moving and handling doughnuts.jpg Adrian Sevume Kauma Adrian Sevume Kauma (SK) is an eccentric trainer who has a strong passion for first aid. His first experience in doing CPR (on his daughter) has inspired him to teach many people in first aid and he aspires to make a difference in people's lives through the means of first aid. He teaches our portfolio of workplace first aid courses and enjoys delivering our schools programme to large groups. Adrian is known for being an "Awesome trainer" as he enjoys using the word "Awesome" or "Awesomness!" throughout his sessions (He does not know that it is not even a word, so when you see him just humour him). He uses anecdotes, stories and his own experiences in his training to make first aid easy, practical and fun.

PEER is a neighbourhood space for art and culture. Over the past twenty-three years we have evolved from the ground up, and are now deeply embedded in the socially, culturally, and economically diverse area of Hoxton, East London. Located in a converted shopfront in Arden Estate on Hoxton Street, our street facing gallery hosts a programme of new commissions by artists presented as solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, research projects and events. PEER overlooks and maintains Khadija’s Garden and Chris Ofili’s Black Hands pedestal clock. To support and encourage dialogue between visitors, artists and their work, a programme of event-based activity takes place throughout each exhibition, including talks, performances and workshops. Central to all our activities is PEER Ambassadors, a two-part programme for people aged 17 – 25 that offers paid work-experience at PEER, alongside a free, collaborative, and creative programme working closely with an artist on a new public art commission as part of PEER Notices. PEER provides an experimental space for artists to explore new directions in their work. Previous and recent artist commissions include, Mike Nelson, Bob & Roberta Smith, Danh Vō, Fiona Banner, Jonathan Baldock & Emma Hart, Jimmy Robert, Jadé Fadojutimi and Lubna Chowdhary, among others. We programme sustainable co-commissions with national and international partners, as well as collaborate with residents, community organisers, educators, schools, libraries and charities. Recent partnerships include, Hoxton Trust, Hackney Circle, Shoreditch Library and Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art.

Clean Break

Clean Break uses theatre to keep the subject of women in prison on the cultural radar, helping to reveal the damage caused by the criminal justice system. Through our unique work, we raise difficult questions, inspire debate, and help to effect profound and positive change in the lives of women with experience of the criminal justice system. Since 1979, Clean Break has been the only women’s theatre company of its kind, and we continue to inspire playwrights and captivate audiences with our ground-breaking plays on the complex theme of women and criminalisation. Through theatre workshops and projects in prisons and in the community which build confidence, resilience and wellbeing, we transform the lives of women who have experienced the criminal justice system or who are at risk of entering it due to the challenges they are facing, such as mental health or drug use issues, which place them in circumstances that make interaction with the criminal justice system difficult to avoid. Our Members Programme is available to women aged 18 and above. The Programme offers a range of workshops and performance opportunities led by esteemed female theatre artists, underpinned by comprehensive support. Clean Break’s women-only identity is crucial to our rationale. The treatment of women by the criminal justice system is one of the clearest demonstrations that our society is still unequal and that women are judged by different standards to men. Our vision is of a society where women can realise their full potential, free from criminalisation, and we believe that theatre enables women to challenge their oppression by society in general and by the criminal justice system in particular.

Ganesh learned to drive at the age of 19, passing his driving test on his first attempt. He distinctly remembers a compliment from his assessor that he was one of the safest drivers that he had seen. During his time in Germany, Ganesh also attained a European Driving License and garnered many praises for his driving talent from his instructor. In his early 20s, Ganesh steered his career trajectory towards corporate opportunities and worked his way up to several managerial positions. But one of Ganesh's keen interests has always been to establish his own business. Consequently, after establishing his family life, he channelled his passion for driving and teaching into his career and commenced his endeavour to become a driving instructor. At the beginning of his journey, Ganesh taught at a local driving school for five years, where he developed his expertise and expanded his clientele. The next phase of Ganesh's journey was to establish AAA STAR Driving School, with the support of his spouse and three children (the namesake of the company).
