Begin2Sports was founded by sports coaching scientist and Commonwealth athlete Addy Mumunie. Born in Nigeria, sports came into her life through the necessity of running to school and back every day. However, it grew into her first love, achieving a regional level by the age of 12-13 and going on to represent Nigeria at Commonwealth/National level. Raising her family in Southwest London, sport and particularly athletics, were the bedrock of her life, raising her three daughters to also include sports into their life. One enjoys recreational sports, and the other two daughters compete as professional athletes at National and International level for England and GB. Coach Addy trained in Sport Coaching Science at St Mary’s University Twickenham. She went on to set up this community interest group (Begin2Sports) in 2017, with the goal to support people from disadvantaged backgrounds through sport and the 7 fundamental key principles of athletics. Coach Addy’s motivation for this project, came from her own humble beginnings. Challenged by Dyslexia, a misunderstood condition in the 1970’s, studying was very difficult. It was an unsupported experience and consequently personal progress was severely inhibited. It was then that she realised that taking part in sports, offered her the freedom, confidence, self-esteem, and self-expression that she needed to help overcome these challenges. Inspiring others to discover the benefits of sport in their lives was the spark that inspired Begin2Sports. At the heart of the group’s purpose is increasing sports participation in the community. We aim to provide individuals at a higher risk of sports deprivation in the London borough of Wandsworth, access to low-cost physical activity & fitness services. Uniquely, we also offer a blended physical and cognitive programme, known as Dysletics and GymLetics, designed specifically for those living with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. WHO WE ARE We are a community focused organisation, that provide sports-based coaching built on values of OPENNESS, EMPOWERMENT, AND NUTURING. We aim to create a safe space for EVERYONE of any ability to experience new and exciting physical activities and sports. Our primary audience are children however we also have adult-based programmes as well as we aim to be as inclusive as possible. We speak simply. We present information clearly to our participants making sure that they take away the key information needed. Less is more. We explain sports terminology in a language everyone can understand, focusing on the physical benefits. We are always Warm, Welcoming and Encouraging! Need advice or information on a legal problem? Whether the problem is personal or business, one of our member firms should be able to assist. Today the Surrey Law Society is the sixth largest in England and Wales with a membership of around 1000 solicitors and is seen as the Surrey Lawyers’ voice. Surrey Law Society was formally incorporated in November 2001. It was a coming together of the three existing Surrey law societies in order to improve economy of administration and provide a far more effective voice for Surrey lawyers when talking both to the Law Society and other professional bodies. Previously the Mid Surrey Law Society had served members in the north of Surrey and London boroughs of Richmond, Kingston, Sutton and parts of Merton, the name deriving from the days when Surrey was everything south of the Thames in Central London. The South East Surrey Law Society was based around Dorking and its environs and similarly the West Surrey Law Society comprised of members in or around Guildford. The amalgamation enabled us to reach parts of the County that the old societies did not reach and increased membership dramatically to its present level. It is now in the top ten local law societies throughout the country, when considering that these include the City of London, Manchester and Birmingham, the Surrey lawyers’ voice is now far more effectively heard in high places. The ‘map’ of the committee as at 27th Nov 2013 identifies the group that currently manages the Society. Originally the presidency rotated around the old three centres of activity but over the years the integration is such that we are now one big happy family, providing not only an effective CPD programme but representatives on just about every legal forum that can be found in the County and several others. One of the main aims of the Society is to get to know fellow lawyers through networking and social events as diverse as beer and skittles evenings, walking weekends, dinners and quizzes. Liaison regularly takes place not only with adjoining societies but also on a national level. Strong and permanent links have also been forged with the University of Law in Guildford itself and Kingston and Surrey Universities where we are happy to sponsor events to assist the students in various ways. We look forward to playing a full role in the legal world and promote the role of Surrey solicitors for a very long time to come.

We share the concerns raised by Arts Council England and the International Council of Museums (ICOM) about the risks faced by cultural professionals as well as the threats to cultural heritage because of this conflict and we send our support to all creative practitioners and cultural organisations and institutions affected. 5 June 2020: Stanley Picker Gallery and our partner venue Dorich House Museum recognise we must do more as cultural organisations to be actively anti-racist. We commit to taking immediate steps to implement a clear plan of action to address systemic racism at every level of our organisations, whilst actively seeking and welcoming critical engagement from diverse perspectives in this process. Stanley Picker Gallery at Kingston University is one of the leading university galleries and commissioning venues in the UK, working with artists, designers, students, academics and members of the local community to encourage creativity, learning, research and innovation. Established in 1997 with the ongoing support of the Stanley Picker Trust, the Gallery forms part of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio and is a principal cultural interface between Kingston University and its civic communities in South-West London and beyond. From its island location on the Hogsmill River, our venue is a creative hub, a production site and a presentation space that functions as an “expanded studio” dedicated to commissioning and curating contemporary art and design practice, generating a dynamic programme of exhibitions, events and participation activities staged onsite, offsite and online. Appointed each year through public open call, our Stanley Picker Fellowships in Design and Fine Art support a diversity of contemporary practitioners to research, create and premiere ambitious new work, by providing generous grants, free studio space, professional expertise and valuable access to the world-class workshop facilities at Kingston School of Art. The call for applications opens annually in May. Our Participation Programme involves us working collaboratively with schools, colleges, community groups and local residents of all ages, to deliver a range of creative activities and shared learning and professional development opportunities for students, that engage everyone in the life of the Gallery, our partner venue Dorich House Museum and the wider University. We are London Arts and Health! We support artists, creative practitioners and health professionals across the whole of London and beyond. Promoting excellence and engagement in the field of arts and wellbeing, and extending the reach of the arts to communities and individuals who would otherwise be excluded. Through our activities, we work to promote, develop and support the understanding of what the arts can do to contribute to a healthy society, in London and nationally, and by so doing to encourage the use of the arts in settings beyond the mainstream. We are the leading support sector organisation, advocate and expert for arts and health in London. Our vision is that the power of arts and culture transforms and enriches Londoners’ lives and health. WHAT WE DO We hold industry events, share information and opportunities through our newsletter to 5.5k subscribers, and publicise arts and health activity by sharing on our social media channels that reach around 20k users. We deliver arts and health training and creative wellbeing sessions to health care staff to bridge between the arts and the health sector. We are a member led organisation and have spent a lot of the past year talking and listening to our members. We have focused on digital solutions during the lockdown and explored ways of supporting a sector in crisis. We undertook in-depth research of our beneficiaries and developed a tool for practitioners, the Digital Sandpit. We created and launched a new digital tool, pARTner up to support the Thriving Communities Funding bid, which encourages cross-sector partnerships and supports cultural organisations of any size to be on an equal footing. We have recently released a new website commissioned by the GLA, containing the Arts and Culture Social Prescribing Mythbuster Guide. The resources include information, resources, case studies, podcasts and an animation for anyone interested in cultural social prescribing in London. We deliver a yearly Creativity and Wellbeing Festival that went from a small London festival to national in 2019 and saw over 50,000 attendees taking part in around 600 events. The week is held in partnership with the Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance. For ten years much of our work has been supported by Arts Council England and we are proud to hold the status of National Portfolio Organisation. The Sujata Banerjee Dancy Company (SBDC) was founded in 1985 by artistic director and choreographer Sujata Banerjee. SBDC is at the forefront of promoting and developing South Asian dance in the UK and internationally. We create, produce and tour new choreographic works, develop artistic partnerships across genres and through our training and mentoring programme, education and outreach projects and the SBDC dance academy, nurture the next generation of artists and promote access to and awareness of, South Asian music and dance in all its forms. Sujata is also recognised internationally for her remarkable contribution in developing Kathak, through mentoring many teachers, creating performance opportunities for dancers and musicians. Sujata has toured all over the world, teaching, creating productions and also performing as a solo artist. She had the opportunity to train intensively with legendary teachers of dance and music in India: Pandit Vijai Shankar, the master of all masters - Pandit Birju Maharaj, and Mrs Ruby Bandopadhaya. She started teaching at the age of eighteen and set up her own school, Nrityam in India, in her early twenties. In 1982 she moved to UK and within a year started teaching, performing and exploring choreographic work with Kathak movement sensibilities. The first such collaborative work was with Birkshire Youth Contemporary Dance Company in 1987. Sujata Banerjee Dance Company was set up in 1985, which eventually became a registered Charity organisation. Her passion in dance education is remarkable. She played a vital role in writing, developing the ISTD Kathak syllabus. Sujata has been a part of the ISTD Classical Indian Dance Faculty since its inception. She is a committee member, senior examiner and was the Chair of the Faculty for nearly ten years. Sujata studied Sport Science and a big believer in the benefits of analytical and scientific teaching methods. She is a true visionary for dance. Her unique pedagogy has produced many Kathak professionals who are versatile Kathak dancers with ability to work successfully with renowned choreographers and directors of other dance/art forms. Her command over Kathak, sense of humour, easy - positive and charismatic attitude is inspiring and she is able to keep anyone engaged in class. In 2019, Sujata received two major awards; MBE, Queen’s award for her outstanding service to Dance and also the prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ from the One Dance UK for education and participation, Nominated for 2020 IADMS Dance Educator award.

The Rose Education Foundation was set-up by Margaret and Maurice Dimmock following the tragic and sudden loss of their youngest daughter Emma. Emma was dedicated to uplifting and empowering, getting alongside young people and helping them to reach their full potential. This passion, shared by Margaret and Maurice, who have both been involved in youth-work and education for many years, led them to set up a charitable trust. The Rose Education Foundation continues to build on the example that Emma had set for many, by supporting the work of projects in the North-East of England and Thailand which build up and empower young people. Margaret and Maurice tell their story here, in their own words… Watch the ‘Our Story’ video Video Player 00:00 00:00 The story so far… had been a very happy one, for us, as a family, although we experienced the usual ups and downs of life nothing too devastating had happened. All of this changed in June 2007. For nearly 3 years, Emma our youngest daughter had been battling with a severe form of ME and although her life was very difficult and painful she was expected at some point in the future to make a full recovery. Sadly on June 17th of 2007 Emma died suddenly of a burst ulcer and acute peritonitis. Our world was shattered, our hearts broken and life would never be the same again. There are no words to adequately describe to you the pain or the extent of our loss as we travel a path we would never have chosen. It is only the continuing help and support of our family & friends combined with the outpouring of the love of God which sustains us on this journey. We cannot change what has happened but we can control our reactions and responses to this overwhelming tragedy. We are confident that Emma is now living in heaven and is happy and content and we feel that to honour the person she was whilst she lived here with us we must in some way work to bring some good from such sadness. Emma was a very caring person who above all else loved God, her family and friends and sought to help others wherever and whenever she could. Following her example and approach to life we have founded the Rose Education Foundation which seeks to improve, enrich and enhance the quality of life for children and young people both in the UK and abroad. At the foundation we believe that education is one of the keys which will help alleviate many of the problems facing children and young people of this and future generations. The need is different in each country and area but as Nelson Mandela is quoted as saying “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” and the Rose Education Foundation endeavours to prove this truth by demonstrating Love in Action.

Campus Creation In 1865, when Methodists in Ireland numbered only 23,000 out of a total population of six million, it was decided to build a college in Belfast, partly for the training of Methodist ministers and partly as a school for boys. Money was collected, mainly from the Irish Methodists but with help from England and America, and 15 acres of land were acquired on what were the very outskirts of the city at that time.This land included the present College Gardens as well as the site on which the College stands. The foundation stone of the New Wesleyan College at Belfast (as it was originally known) was laid on 24th August 1865 by Sir William McArthur, a Londonderry businessman, who later became Lord Mayor of London. Three years later, on 18th August 1868, the College was opened with 141 pupils. Just after the opening of the College a proposal that "young ladies" be educated on equal terms with the boys was accepted by the committee of Management, with the result that from the third month of its existence Methodist College has been a co-educational establishment.In 1891 Sir William McArthur bequeathed a large sum of money towards the foundation of the hall of residence for girl boarders. The College steadily flourished and the enrolment increased. There was a rapid growth of numbers after 1920, when the theological department moved to Edgehill College thus releasing more accommodation for the school's use.

Award-winning conductor, pianist and composer, Claudio Di Meo has established himself internationally as an exceptional talent in orchestral and choral music, bringing clarity, integrity and dynamism to his interpretation of wide-ranging repertoire. Winner of the International Conducting Competition Westminster London with the London Classical Soloists, Claudio Di Meo began his musical life in Italy, where he studied piano, composition and conducting, winning First Prize at the Italian National Choir Conducting Competition in 2011 and First Prize at the Enrico Caruso International Competition in 2014. An ardent exponent of the music of Sibelius, Claudio is a member of the prestigious Sibelius Society Italia, whose Honorary President is Sir Antonio Pappano. Claudio Di Meo has performed regularly on the international stage, including appearances in Hungary (Olasz VendègKòrus Concert Hall, Budapest), Sri Lanka (A New Direction International Performing Arts Festival, Colombo), Mexico (Festival de las Almas, Valle de Bravo), Lebanon (Al Bustan Festival, Beirut), Singapore (The Silent Lines of Its Lips), Cyprus (Lefkoşa International Festival), France (La scene Parisienne), and the USA (2014 New Year Concert, St. John the Divine Cathedral, New York). Recent chamber music engagements include performances with soprano Olivia Robinson (BBC Singers), Nicholas Korth (Co-principal Horn BBC Symphony Orchestra), Selena Markson (Co-principal Clarinet of Goteborgs Symfoniker), Susanna Candlin (former Co-leader London Mozart Players) and Hans Adler (Principal double bass of Goteborgs Symfoniker). In addition to conducting, Claudio Di Meo is widely experienced in film music, musical theatre and thematic musical stage productions as both pianist and composer. A specialist in Italian film music, Claudio Di Meo won a composition award in 2013 from the Governor of the State of Mexico and the Director of the National Conservatory in Mexico City in recognition of his “great professionalism and future potential as a composer of music for cinema.” Recent highlights include a production of Maria Callas The Black Pearl, which premiered in a series of performances at the prestigious Esplanade Theatre in Singapore and subsequently in Paris and at Grange Park Opera in England, with Claudio Di Meo as Music Director and composer.. Claudio Di Meo’s discography as a pianist includes recordings of Ravel’s Ma mère l’Oye and Debussy’s Six épigraphes antiques, as well as his own compositions Oceano di cielo and most recently, Memories, a collection of 10 pieces for solo piano. This collection has also been published by Upper Esk Music, alongside Three Motets for the Virgin Mary, a collection of his choral music. Claudio Di Meo recognises the importance of music education and is highly skilled in developing the talent of young performers. Appointed Principal Conductor of Dacorum Youth Orchestra in September 2015, Claudio Di Meo continues to inspire a new generation of musicians with his infectious enthusiasm and commitment to achieving high levels of performance. In October 2018 he was appointed Principal Conductor of the Hemel Symphony Orchestra and, as a freelance conductor, has been invited to work with other London-based orchestras, including the London Classical Soloists, Trinity Orchestra Harrow, and Watford Symphony Orchestra, among others. In May 2020 Claudio Di Meo has also been appointed Principal Conductor of the Kensington Philharmonic Orchestra, in London.
