nomad sailing (shorebased)

Nomad Sailing is owned and run by Jim Barden and his sister Lou. We have a practical bases in Gosport and shorebased classrooms in London and the South-East. Nomad was established in 2008, and after obtaining RYA Recognised Training Centre (RTC) status has provided shorebased RYA training courses in various locations in London and the South East. We aim to give sailors and prospective sailors the opportunity to learn and refine all the navigation skills needed on the water, a thorough grounding in the 'rules of the road', detailed knowledge of buoyage, lights and shapes and an understanding of safety at sea, all in the comfort of the classroom. Nomad 1 is Nomad Sailing's first boat. We have spent a great deal of time making her a fabulous training boat and felt she deserved a full page - so please take a look at Nomad 1. In 2018, Menai III joined the fleet, another Sun Fast 37 and fully equipped for training and longer passages. As well as providing scheduled courses throughout the year, Nomad Sailing also delivers bespoke theory training to small groups in homes, offices, clubs and workshops ! In 2019, we also took over the managment of one of the Solent's longest established yacht charter companies - Solent Yacht Charter. Along with a fleet of yachts for bareboat or skippered charter, Solent Yacht Charter can also provide bespoke skippered charters on larger motor cruisers and a Thames Barge!

FOOD TEACHERS CENTRE is a UK based self-help group for secondary teachers founded by Louise T Davies in 2013 and supported by experienced volunteer associates. There are over 9,000+ active teachers in the group.  It provides a platform to exchange best practice, give advice and support to less experienced teachers, answering practical concerns and keeping them abreast of the latest curriculum changes. It is a one-stop shop for like-minded professionals who seek help through authoritative and accurate information. The New School is a centre of excellence for training and research in existential psychotherapy, counselling psychology, pastoral care, autism, diversity and coaching. It has attracted many experienced and creative teachers and trainers as well as numerous research supervisors with a record of original research publications in the field. It was founded and established by Prof. Emmy van Deurzen, an international authority on existential therapy, psychologist, philosopher and author of many seminal texts in the field, together with Prof. Digby Tantam, an eminent psychotherapist, philosopher, researcher and influential author in the field of autism. Emmy previously founded the School of Psychotherapy at Regent’s College as well as the Society for Existential Analysis and ensured that the New School courses would be deeply rooted in the tradition of continental philosophy. NSPC offers joint psychotherapy and counselling psychology doctoral programmes with Middlesex University with the option of post-graduate diploma and masters exits. It also offers a masters’ course in existential coaching, two online MSc programmes, a foundation course, short courses, one day workshops and numerous introductory courses. It has a unique online programme, the septimus courses, which are integrated with the doctoral programme, or can be taken as stand-alone modules. It is a unique and dynamic institution, which affords its students the opportunity to pursue their personal and professional interests and establish their chosen careers through theoretical and skills training, alongside supported placements and research. NSPC students tend to be mature, self-reflective, highly motivated and committed individuals who come from many different cultures and backgrounds and have a strong capacity for independent study and learning.
