Hello and welcome! We’d like to tell you a little about Flux Jewellery School. We’re based in London and we’ve been running specialist jewellery courses here since 2008. We provide opportunities for anyone wishing to explore, extend or develop jewellery making skills. We’re part of Flux Studios, a membership-based collective of professional jewellers who work together to share knowledge and skills, and to develop their independent jewellery businesses. At Flux Jewellery School our remit is a simple one – to provide a platform where expertise, enthusiasm and the open exchange of ideas combine to inspire creative genius! Here we have a unique approach to providing educational experiences alongside professional practice, and this gives proven added value to our students and our Flux Studios members alike. Our History Flux Studios was established by Vicky Forrester in 2008 with the desire to support all elements of the jewellery industry. The intention was to create a home to both aspiring professionals and the interested public, where each could thrive. Since these early beginnings, Flux Studios has evolved into a busy, creative jewellery hub. We have become a global destination where people come to share ideas and jewellery skills with open enthusiasm. About Vicky Forrester Vicky Forrester is a designer – maker of contemporary bespoke jewellery. Inspired by organic structures, Vicky combines the inherent qualities of her materials with innovative techniques, to produce wearable, precious forms that delight the senses. She makes her jewellery here at Flux Studios, London. Vicky set up Flux Jewellery School to share the skills and knowledge she has gained though her own 30-year career as a jeweller and teacher. In 2010 Vicky was commissioned to write ‘Elemental Jewellery’, an inspirational look at jewellery making. The book includes twenty projects that aim to introduce new approaches to making jewellery, while also exploring ways to develop a free spirited design methodology.

Yoga360 with Simon Hoten (pronounced Yoga three sixty) creates yoga practices, classes, workshops and retreats. As the number 360 reflects the number of degrees in a full or whole circle, Yoga360 reflects a focus on the whole person.   Founder: Simon Hoten I have been practising & studying yoga since 2003 and teaching since 2010. As a yoga teacher I am British Wheel of Yoga accredited. I am also a qualified meditation teacher and certified iRest™ Teacher (iRest yoga nidra / Guided meditation) I started my personal meditation practise with a 10 day silent Vipassana meditation retreat in New Zealand in March 2003. Following this revelatory experience, I went to my first yoga class a few days later, with the primary intention of improving my flexibility so that I could sit more comfortably during meditation. However at my very first class I became intrigued about the physical yoga practise as well as meditation and this soon developed into the passion that it is today. My teaching style is one of emphasis on the breath, healthy alignment, flow of movement, building strength & flexibility, whilst also giving an opportunity for deep relaxation. I aim for all my classes to be open and friendly whilst also being focused. I am very keen in sharing the benefits of private / one on one teaching, having personally seen the depth in my own practise develop following such a setting. As a yoga teacher I come with 25 years of experience of a fast-paced, city working-life and all the pressures, expectations and challenges that this lifestyle brings. I have seen the positives that yoga can bring first hand including supporting improved focus and energy as well as helping alleviate symptoms of stress and supporting improved sleep patterns particularly after long periods of travelling. With a regular asana practise, I have also significantly benefited from improved posture, flexibility and movement in my body where there were restrictions, particularly following the effects of a severe femur fracture in my 20's and subsequent 12 month recovery period in hospital.

Holistically, we also support family sessions alongside the children, in parallel workshops called The Parenthood Academy: Self development for parents, as well as exploring strategies on progressive parenting for the millennials. The multi award-winning Manhood Academy for Boys was birthed by 8 men who shared a single vision. Following a trip to Gambia by 4 of the co-founders of Manhood Academy, in February 2016 a community call out brought them together in the same room, meeting at an Ethiopian restaurant in South London. At the end of the round table meeting they unanimously chose to “Be the change we wish to see in the world” by collectively establishing The Manhood Academy.Each founder previously holding a distinguished track record in youth work, from a BAFA award winning senior educator to working on the streets of London with urban youth. The Manhood Academy officially launched to the community at Park View Academy, London on October 15th, 2016.A curriculum was co-designed from the collective wealth of experience of the founders, and the nameManhood Academy, Womanhood Academy & Parenthood Academy were coined. Established under the umbrella (CIC) community interest company name: Lifehood Academy on 15 May 2017. The Manhood Academy program was implemented with the intention of exposing our young people to character building experiences, tests and master classes.All geared towards shifting young people’s paradigm, from the chronic news headlines, school disenfranchisement and stereotypes some of our young people manifest as a self-fulfilling prophecy. Bringing about a new and empowering context, supporting the our youth to take responsibility for decisions that will set the course for a positive future.

Shabbat Walk

Shabbat walk was founded by Eliezer Gilbert in November 2015. Eliezer had been visiting the Royal Free on a weekly basis. The idea emerged when a group of volunteers wanted to also visit the Royal Free hospital on a Shabbos afternoon. The search was on to find volunteering opportunities for young volunteers. This quickly expanded to include care homes and visiting many other hospitals across London. From this idea a concept was born – Using a time that teenagers are free to have them actively engaging in acts of Chessed whilst simultaneously helping those who are in need of visiting. Avi Dubiner a volunteer for the Shabbat Walk (who was just 15 at the time) was instrumental in its growth. He encouraged over 200 young volunteers from his school and the community to get involved by volunteering regularly. This enabled the Shabbat Walk to expand its services into helping families on Shabbos afternoons and weekdays. Michal Morgenstern took charge of the girls side of the Shabbat Walk and coordinated over 200 female volunteers. The Shabbat Walk then recruited more coordinators to match the increase in the number of volunteers and volunteering activity. There are now 17 teenage volunteer coordinators who have specific duties and responsibilities and without them none of the volunteering activity would be possible. In April 2018 Chaya Hoff, a regular volunteer for the Shabbat Walk officially begun the Hospital project facilitating 100’s of volunteers 18+ to offer some respite and visiting of those in hospital. In September 2018 Avi Dubiner launched Shabbat Walk Israel. Over 50 volunteers from yeshivas and seminaries volunteer their time at local families. The Shabbat Walk also introduced regular Chaburah’s for the regular volunteers to learn about the torah values and concepts surrounding the topic of ‘giving’. This added the dimension of thought and intention behind the actions of volunteering.

We are a pioneering community-led learners' co-operative focused on improving the educational, physical and social well-being of children and families contextualised within family and community empowerment. We are commonly known as uLearn Naturally Learners' Co-operative. We are an umbrella organisation serving collectives with assistance in forming Abundance Centres Member Trusts. We also work to build various kinds of educational infrastructure to support our Member Trusts and the general public. These infrastructure works are mainly related to our Home-School-Knowledge Exchange project and our emerging uLearn Naturally Media Services. In general the objectives of the Trust are to carry out activities which benefit the communities of UK and members of the Trust in regard to community engagement, family directed learning and personal development in the realms of education, well-being and social networking. In particular, our mission is to establish and maintain centres of service with the principles and general intention of bringing about better community engagement, creativity, cross-curricular learning and/or unified ways of coming to know that which specifically enables and enriches the learning of the sciences and maths through the arts, intelligent play and the dissemination of wholistic (nature-centric) pedagogical (learning) practices. It is our mission to continue advancing our governance structure to achieve our cooperative aims perfectly, offering a broad range of support options to our Member Trusts and the public in general. Currently there is much evidence to point to the need for more creative approaches to education to best honour real-time learning potentials, the need to make intelligent play and early life learning relevant to our rapidly changing society yet still honouring the valuable inner cultures of the past is of utmost importance today. Where cultural heritage is valued in learning processes is the exact place where we find the seeds of our most natural abundance centre power.
