My story. Hmm. Writing my story caused a great deal for me and this was the last section I completed on the website. Why? There are 2 reasons: I am reluctant to talk about myself. I am an introvert and observing others while I complete my internal thinking processes is the way I operate. I value honesty but I am also very private. I generally want to support others and being vulnerable about my own struggles is difficult for me as I don’t want to be a burden for others. Or if I achieve great results, I also tend to stay modest as I don’t want to “show off”. This behaviour is something I had to work on during my adult years, however I still carry traits. I also do not like to talk a lot. I always just say as much as necessary to give the information needed. I am very curious and insightful, I typically strive to move past appearances and get to the heart of things. I am reserved and quiet. But not shy. When I communicate, I do that with warmth and sensitivity. Other times, I speak with passion and conviction. My personality is reflected greatly during my coaching sessions as I possess exceptional listening skills, I understand peoples’ true motivations, feelings, and needs. I pick up key words and I observe my clients through all my senses. I listened to many great speakers, coaches, mentors, leaders, writers sharing their stories where they related to their audience and connected their purpose to their own lives. I admired them and I understood that sharing my own story can make a huge impact on how I express myself and how I introduce myself to my audience. I really wanted to select a story that truly aligned with my values rather than one that offered me status or material gain.

I work as a wellbeing coach and specialist autism support worker guiding, supporting and empowering the people I work with to live the best lives they can. I aim to be a a catalyst in individuals transformation, ushering souls towards their fullest potential and most authentic and integrated versions of self. I believe that every person has the potential to actualise a life with wellbeing, purpose and deep meaning at the forefront; with the right resources, support and self-belief anything is possible. My Integrative Wellbeing Coaching approach comes from a belief that a holistic approach to wellbeing through combining physical, emotional and spiritual well-being is vital to improved long-term wellbeing. I am a 500hr qualified yoga and meditation instructor, with a passion for spirituality and related practices. I have worked in various settings that inform how I work. My work with the charity S.A.N.E on a mental health helpline and W.I.S.H (women in secure hospitals) gave me a deep understanding of lived experiences of mental health. My time in various community settings both in youth and adult services offering support and wellbeing services, has developed my awareness of the factors from our childhood and youth as well as socio-economic and environmental factors that inform the adults we become. In recent year my interest has been in working with individuals and groups to get deeper into the work of creating transformation in their hearts and lives. My practice is informed by my own journey through mental health challenges and addiction recovery. Its my lived experience that gives me a genuine compassion, directness and approachability. Alongside my wellbeing work I work as a Specialist Autism Support Worker with the National Autistic Society. I am passionate about working with the unique strengths and challenges of neuro-diversity, having pursued a late diagnosis of ASD myself in 2017.

About the Migration Museum The Migration Museum explores how the movement of people to and from Britain across the ages has shaped who we are – as individuals, as communities, and as a nation. Migration is a pressing contemporary issue and is at the centre of polarised political and online debate. But there’s an underlying story of comings and goings stretching back many centuries. From our current home in the heart of Lewisham Shopping Centre, we stage engaging exhibitions and dynamic events, alongside a far-reaching education programme for primary, secondary, university and adult learners. We have a growing digital presence and convene a knowledge-sharing Migration Network of museums and galleries across the UK. The story so far The Migration Museum was founded by Barbara Roche, who first made the case for a migration museum for Britain almost 20 years ago, stemming from her time as Britain’s immigration minister, and from visiting similar museums in other parts of the world – notably Ellis Island in New York. The Film and Video Workshop is an educational charity founded in June 1997 by Simon Oatley. Our objective is the education of adults, children and young people in the art of film, video and other types of media. We aim to work particularly with those people who are in need by reason of disability, age or economic circumstance. The company has grown steadily since its formation and is now the largest producer of child and young people directed moving image work in the United Kingdom. Many of the films we have helped produce have been shown in international film festivals and some have won prestigious awards. Each year we work with approximately 1000 film makers and produce some 300 films. Past clients include Tate modern, Tate Britain, The National Portrait Gallery, Arts Council, Film London, Film Council, Skillset, Cartoon Museum, Learning and Skills Council, Tribal Education, London Development Agency, ten of the London councils, BBC, Channel 4 and Nickelodeon. Recent premiere screenings have been held at the London Imax Cinema and the Odeon West End. In addition we provide adult training, specialising in the creative use of digital technology. The current courses selection includes four video production courses, stop motion, animation techniques, after effects, Avid and FCP. We subsidise a selection of introduction courses to enable people to start filmmaking as well as provide CPD for professionals. All our courses have a 40% reduction for concessions. The media centre is open 6 days a week with over 80 weekly users. The company is managed by an unpaid board of directors to whom we are very grateful for their long standing support.
