Our Mission Building sustainable communities around sport facilities, connecting visionary actors in sport, development, politics and business to community needs and opportunities.Dream Fields was created by former colleagues from international football who wanted to use their experience in sport for the good of communities around the world. In their daily work, Colin, David, Emilia and Stuart had witnessed the power of sport first hand, be it in the incredible stories of women who fought against all odds just to get the chance to play the beautiful game, or in the children kicking a makeshift ball in a slum where the game seemed to wipe off their worries and create the brightest of smiles on their faces. Dream Fields was born out of the hope to spread this joy and grow it into sustainability livelihoods for communities where everyone has the right to play. The Dream Fields concept was born from this search for not merely ‘sport for good’ but ‘sport for sustainable and prosperous communities’. In 2021, co-founder Stuart decided to embark on a journey to better understand the real issues around sport and sustainability. As part of a course with the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership, he presented a general concept of how a sports facility could become the focal point of driving a local economy with a heavy focus on environmental sustainability, ultimately hoping to reach the level of interdependence seen in various symbiosis projects globally. After completing the programme, Stuart shared the concept with former colleagues Colin, David and Emilia. As the concept grew wings, Samy joined the team to bring in his operations and engineering expertise. - Dream Fields was born.

We evolved out of Cordwainers Garden, a community growing space on land belonging to the London College of Fashion in Mare Street. We wanted to make the link with what the staff and students were doing inside the college to the outside so, in 2011 started growing plants for dyeing and to make fibre. The garden closed in April 2019, but Cordwainers Grow continues and we champion sustainable community growing in the face of increased competition for space and inequality of access. HOME / ABOUT Welcome to the New Garden Cities Alliance We are an alliance of organisations – commercial and not-for-profit – and as well as individuals – dedicated to promote the formation of new, genuine Garden Cities. Our aim is to work in partnership with existing bodies to establish standards for Garden Cities that Britain can be proud of. Also to establish exemplars for an environmentally sustainable society that promotes the wellbeing of all citizens. In particular we wish to set minimum standards for Garden Cities: 1. Being applied to establish new settlements or for transforming existing urban precincts; 2. To integrate the design of their invisible architecture of ownership, control and funding with their visible architecture to promote the common good; 3. That requires mutual ownership of all land to capture and share its value on negotiable basis with all residents be they homeowners or tenants; 4. To attracts investors, entrepreneurs, established and new businesses to add value to the community on basis that equitably shares any profits in excess of the incentive to invest; 5. With the capacity to become largely self-reliant in regards to the basic needs of its residents for water, food and energy and value adding activities to sustain citizen prosperity in perpetuity; 6. That inspires citizens, leaders, community groups, planners, architects and all other stakeholders to work together to a common vision of an ecologically sustainable, fair and equitable society. The New Garden Cities Alliance has been tasked by the signatories of the Letchworth Garden City Declaration to create a movement and organise the consensus to setup the mechanisms so that an agreed definition of what a Garden City is can take root and we can give new settlements the confidence to call themselves ‘Garden Cities’ if they meet a set of agreed social, planning and architectural criteria.
