Meet Gehane Gordelier Education Consultant As an education consultant I provide on-site and remote/online guidance, support and training for headteachers, senior and middle leaders and practitioners at every level to help them to further improve their practice; this includes governors. Most of my work is currently in the South East and in Jersey. I support schools with school improvement, planning, self-evaluation, curriculum provision, the teaching of phonics and early reading as well as financial management and budgeting. As an HMI I reviewed the implementation of policies and practice in education. I inspected local authorities, initial teacher education as well as primary, secondary and special schools in the maintained and independent sectors. I have experience of reviewing a range of curriculum subjects for Ofsted and now undertake deep dives of subjects for schools. As HMI, I was the national lead for the inspection of information and communication technology in primary schools and the inspection of international schools in England. Areas of specialism include strengthening leadership and management and improving the teaching of phonics, early reading and writing, MFL, EAL and accelerating school improvement. I have a B.Ed. (Hons) in Education and French and an MA in IT and Special Educational Needs.
