Date: Friday 13th October 2023 Time: 4pm Central Film School are proud and excited to be hosting a screening of the documentary feature Maisie, all about Britain's oldest performing drag queen! Documenting a competitive rivalry between Maisie (85 years young) and her American counterpart Darcelle XV (87 years young), this battle of skill and wits is unlike any other you'll see this year. Showing in Studio A at Central Film School, this screening is being put on as part of the Clapham Fringe Festival, an amazing collection of stand-up comedy, dramatic shows and musical performances that brings the best of rising talent together.

Our crisis communications courses show you how to cope when your organisation is under fire, and protect your good name. We can: Train your spokespeople to handle challenging interviews, pitting their wits against a hostile reporter Train your PR team to manage communications during an unfolding crisis Deliver a fast-paced crisis simulation where your team have to decide how to handle the press during an unfolding emergency Facilitate a crisis strategy workshop, where we work together to develop your crisis communications strategy All of our crisis communications courses are bespoke, so we will design each one to meet your specific needs. Areas we can cover include: How a crisis can escalate in seconds How journalists respond to bad news stories How to develop effective key messages & write holding statements How to manage your social media How to take control of an interview and get your message across How to handle press conferences and doorsteps Venue We deliver courses in the most appropriate format for your circumstances – whether face to face or online. Face to face courses are portable: they can be held in purpose-built studios, at your own offices or at an external venue. In the latter two cases, we create a mock studio for the practical exercises. Online courses give you flexibility and enable you to offer training to delegates from all over the world. We have run virtual courses for people from the Far East, South Asia, North America and Europe, as well as the UK.

DATE: Tuesday 11th June TIME: 4pm LOCATION: Studio A Join us for a frank and informative discussion on mental health, how best to maintain and support yourself and others during times of stress and anxiety. Hosted by our very own school counsellor, Alice Coyle, this session will be a great way for you learn new key skills that will develop your own mental health and help you cope with everyday stress, both from personal circumstances and school assessments. We hope to see you all there!

DATE: Tuesday 14th May TIME: 4:00pm LOCATION: Studio A On Tuesday 14th May we'll be hosting an International Students Event in Studio A, an opportunity for our international students to come together, get to know one another and share short films from their home countries and states, followed by some casual drinks and finger food.If you are planning on attending, please fill in this form where you can submit the film you wish to present. All films should be accessible for free online using platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo.

DATE: Monday 15th July TIME: 12:30pm LOCATION: Studio A We will be hosting a meeting to see how many students would be interested in a potential school trip to the Berlin International Film (Berlinale) festival next year, in Spring 2025. Organised by Mark de Valk and Conrad Pollock, this trip will offer you the chance to get to the heart of both the European Film Industry and one of the world's coolest, most vibrant cities. The Berlinale is one of the most prestigious film festivals active today, and you'll be exposed to new releases from around the world, make international connections and get to explore a European capital that's rich in history and culture. Currently we are looking at 5 days and 4 nights overall, with group travel and accommodation together. If you are interested, please join us for this meeting. This trip is open to all CFS students on all courses, and booking will likely take place in Autumn term. Please note, the trip's viability is subject to a minimum number of sign-ups (amount tbc).
