The idea of setting up Handmade Workshops came about, as many things do, over a coffee one morning. Living in an area teeming with amazing artists and craft experts, we wanted to create a space to bring them together and give us all the opportunity to learn from their expertise, whilst at the same time having some fun and escape from daily life. Fire the Inventor designs mechanical interactives for exhibitions and learning, is an exhibition consultant and supplies educational kits. STEAM not STEM In the language of educators, Fire the Inventor is about adding a missing ‘A’ to STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, ART and Mathematics – STEAM). Fire the Inventor encourages a hands-on making, crafting, inventing, tinkering and repairing culture, and giving ourselves the time and opportunity to play around with a bunch of materials and (re)discover playful creativity.

The In The Pocket band workshop takes place over three days. Classes run from 11am to 2pm on Wednesday and Thursday and 11am to 3pm on Friday. Each day involves three learning sessions of around 45 minutes with two twenty minute breaks. At the beginning of the workshop, we listen to some music and collectively choose songs to learn and spend the rest of the first day learning the parts of the first song under the guidance of the teachers. We finish the day with a jam session. On day two, we run through the song from day one and start learning a second song. We finish the day with a jam session. On day three, we hone and polish our two songs. We may even add another song to the mix. At the end of day three, we perform the songs we’ve learned for broadcast to the world via social media platforms. Who Is It For? All young musicians aged 8 to 16 are welcome to join. If you have at least six months experience playing your instrument, you can fit in and be part of the band. Whatever instruments you play, you can rock. OK, we haven’t had anyone turn up with a harp yet but we regularly work with singers, guitarists, pianists and keyboardists, drummers, saxophonists, trumpeters, ukuleleists, bassists and so on. If you play an exotic instrument and aren’t sure if you’ll fit in, please get in touch and we’ll let you know if you can participate. The Vibe In The Pocket band workshops are run with the intention of empowering young musicians to learn independently and work collaboratively. In our experience, most young musicians with the right encouragement, are happy to take ownership of their own learning. They are keen to help each other perform at their best. With that in mind, we focus on creating an easy-going and supportive atmosphere where learning is fun and eveyone can contribute to the music making no matter their level of experience

We hold workshops around London, encouraging participants to mend their favourite items of clothing instead of disposing them into landfill. Our workshops aim to introduce ways of mending clothing through various textile methods in order to fix, deconstruct or customise to revive much loved pieces. We aim to inspire people to learn new, invaluable skills and reconnect with textile techniques, encouraging creativity and mindfulness when it comes to your wardrobe. For over 2 decades I’ve been supporting my clients in their health and wellbeing through various forms of massage and healing. I offer effective treatments in my clinic and stimulating education in the classroom. Leaving my past life as a graphic designer, I went back to college and studied Aromatherapy. Fast forward many years and experiences, I have gone on to train in Abdominal Therapy, Reflexology, Reiki, Indian Head Massage, Thai Yoga Massage and On-Site Acupressure Chair Massage (Amma Massage). Constantly striving to improve my skills has lead me to various exotic places, from the Thai jungle, rainforests of Central America, throughout North America, and then the rolling hills in Surrey, UK. I first learned about Abdominal Therapy in 2004, after a chance meeting with Dr. Rosita Arvigo, whilst on holiday in Belize, Central America. This inspired me to seek Abdominal Therapy when I returned home to the UK. Driven by personal health issues, I received regular treatments which supported and reframed my attitude to my own pelvic health. Abdominal Therapy not only transformed my health, but also my outlook on life. Years later, and after working with hundreds of clients, I now teach Abdominal Therapy, running workshops at personal and professional level, both in person and online specialising in the art of gaining and maintaining abdominal health. I run Abdominal workshops for those who seek a deeper understanding and healing from digestive or pelvic issues, and train professional therapists in the art of Abdominal Therapy within The Abdominal Therapy Collective. I was a graphic designer for 15 years, immersed in the discipline of explaining concepts, products and events in a way that was easy to understand and visually striking, I bring these qualities to my teaching, always seeking simple and effective ways to explain healing concepts and methods to my students. I have created a beautiful haven for healing and learning in my home in leafy Twickenham, South West London, UK. Offering treatments at the top of my home in my cocoon-like therapy room, and a fun and engaging workshop space at the bottom, in my kitchen and garden studio. My passion for pelvic health education draws me near and far, for those seeking personal healing or professional growth alike.
