The reason Universities exist is to enable learning. With mainstream students,
they can do this relatively easily if they apply themselves. When a D/deaf
student starts university certain other factors come into play and can often
cause a barrier to their learning. The D/deaf student may need provision in
order to access their education fully. This comes in many shapes, such as
note-takers, BSL interpreters and/or specialist professional for deaf people, to
name but a few .
