Initially training as an electrical engineer, Anthony moved into domestic
appliance repairs as a white goods field service engineer for Comet, working on
cutting edge technology such as halogen, microwave and induction cookers.
Following this, Anthony joined the Gerard Gamble Group and became a technical
manager, trouble-shooting obscure faults and taking responsibility for training
engineers nationwide for their gas qualifications and specialised equipment
repairs. In particular, he worked with Garland, Frymaster and Houno products, as
well as pressure boilers and ware-washing equipment. Anthony also assisted in
developing containerised kitchens, where complete commercial kitchens were
fitted into modified sea containers capable of being transported by lorry,
providing temporary cooking facilities.
