rachel sedman
Ilkley
Rachel makes quiet works that evoke a presence or memory of a place or
experience. Her areas of practice are influenced by sound, perception and time
and how this is expressed visually and sonically. She works with a diverse range
of mediums using painting, sound, film & historic photographic processes.
Through creating work she intends to harness meaning and resonance which in turn
invites the viewer to make their own connection to it. A UK based artist, she
trained in both design and fine art at Manchester and Leeds Arts Universities.
This multi disciplinary approach provides a lens through which to view and
reflect upon themes of consciousness and being and how these reflections can be
expressed visually and sonically. She has collaborated with organisations such
as The National Trust and her work is held in private collections in the UK, USA
and Australia.
