At Pennine all areas of the students’ lives — at home, in the classroom, in the
work areas and workshops, the leisure and cultural activities — provide
opportunities for learning. We create a lively, stimulating but structured
environment that draws students into the learning process and allows them to
thrive. We aim to develop social and independent-living skills and work-related
skills, including transferable skills such as working as part of a group and
taking responsibility for one’s own work. Our approach stimulates creativity and
allows students to build a sense of achievement and develop self-confidence and
self-esteem.
