Beds SU is led by four elected student officers - two Co-President and two Co-Vice Presidents - who are elected annually by University of Bedfordshire students to lead the Students' Union. We campaign on issues that you care about, as well as provide lots of opportunities for you to meet new people, develop your skills, campaign for change and try something new. Computer Friendly is a non-profit organisation staffed with friendly and experienced unpaid volunteers. We have been delivering low cost computer training in the community since 2002, to adults who may want an alternative to more formal or commercial courses. Our objective is to help anyone in St Albans and District, including disadvantaged and excluded people, to gain computer skills. These people could include the retired, unemployed or disabled from diverse groups.

Most of our students continue on to the Sixth Form, which is one of the largest and highest performing in the area - providing students with a huge range of courses designed to match the expectations of universities and employers. Our pastoral care is exceptional and we have dedicated pastoral support teams for each year group. The academy is also broken down into five houses, named after people who have made a distinctive contribution to our community. These provide the framework for the multitude of different competitions, celebrations and charity events that bring our school community together during the year. Extracurricular opportunity is a vital part of our ethos and we expect all of our students to get involved in at least one club or activity. There are a huge number of opportunities ranging from highly competitive sports teams to spectacular drama and musical performances. Our History 1950s – Private kennels built on siteAn aerial view of Country Boarding for Cats and Dogs 18 acre site in Hertfordshire showing the buildings and dog park 1960s – Original owners introduced the first Rottweilers into the UK 1989 – Country Boarding Kennels & Cattery was established 1994 – Heidi and Peter Eymor purchased and developed Country Boarding Kennels and Cattery into the recognisable form you can see today 1996 – New block opened for small dogs 2000 – Grooming parlour established on site 2000 – Hydrotherapy pool established on site 2011 – Renate and Jeremy Burrowes acquired the Kennels & Cattery 2012 – Luxury VIP kennel suites built 2012 – We acquired 15 acres next to the kennels to exercise dogs which board with us 2013 – Dog Park fenced and open to the public 2015 – Full Planning permission obtained for new developments 2017 – New entrance from Gannock Lane opened, dog day care commenced in our new Park Hall, ………..new reception opened with shop and Pet Cafe 2021 – Eco pledge to halve CO2 emissions by 2030. We installed additional solar panels, large storage battery, vehicle charge points and purchased three electric vehicles
