replico productions
Replico was founded in 1997 as a production facility to support Higher Still
Drama, before branching out into wider lifelong learning contexts. Originally
established for small-scale school tours, the company has since established a
capacity for digital media production and commercial theatre. Our principal
activity remains strategic support for schools, colleges and local authorities,
through a wide range of workshops for pupils and students of all ages, training
for staff, lecture demonstrations and bespoke resource materials. In recent
years the company has developed an international profile, having taken part in
study visits, conferences and research projects in Reggio Emilia, Milan and
Venice and offering specialist support in classical theatre for summer schools
in Ferrara. In Scotland, our work is currently focused on developing creativity
across learning, primarily in the context of the Scottish Attainment Challenge
with a strong emphasis on literacy. Artistic Director and Replico founder Joe
Gallagher has over thirty years experience in theatre, TV and radio as an actor,
director, producer and technician, but also works part time as a cultural
coordinator for East Ayrshire Council, working closely with schools and senior
education management staff, allowing a unique insight to arts education in
Scotland.
