Learn to screen print using gold metal leaf with local artist and printmaker Lou Davis.In this advanced level screen printing workshop you will&nbsp;learn to coat, expose, print and clean silk screens. You&rsquo;ll have the opportunity to create a two-layer print with one colour layer, and one where we apply metal leaf to your design. Although no previous knowledge is assumed, you will get more from this workshop if you have attended one of our&nbsp;beginner or intermediate level screen printing workshops, or have&nbsp;previous experience of screen printing.You&rsquo;ll learn to create designs for screen printing;&nbsp;transfer your designs to a screen and print onto printmaking paper; and&nbsp;how to register your prints so they print in the same place every time. The ECG Workshop

On this silver clay jewellery taster workshop, you will create a pendant and/or pair of earrings from hallmark-quality silver with specialist, Edinburgh-based jeweller Anna Campbell.&nbsp; &nbsp; You will learn how to make jewellery out of a material called silver clay, which is made up of recycled silver particles, an organic binder and water. Silver clay requires with very little equipment so it&#39;s perfect for those wanting to learn a new skill they can easily do at home. &nbsp; You will be taken through all the steps to create your own piece ready for firing. The dried clay is fired with a butane torch to form it into silver (but a cr&egrave;me brul&eacute; torch will do the trick!). You&rsquo;ll then polish your silver jewellery ready to take home. &nbsp; This taster class is perfect for giving you an idea of the possibilities of this unique material. Earth conscious credentials
We are mindful of the effect we have on the environment, and do our best to minimise our impact.
Silver clay is a material manufactured from 100% recycled silver, a plant-based organic binder and water. The silver is recycled from X-rays, the photographic industry, electronics, and the like. You don’t need a lot of tools and equipment to get started, and all pieces made on this workshop can be fired with a creme brûlée torch. 
You also take all the lovely products you have created home with you on the day, and workshop correspondence and notes are sent to you electronically.

Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. Create two unique hallmark quality silver rings on this intermediate level workshop with Edinburgh-based silver clay jewellery expert Anna Campbell.
Using silver clay, a material made up of recycled silver particles, an organic binder and water, you will learn how to make two different types of fine silver rings. Anna will take you through all the steps needed to create your own pieces ready for firing.&nbsp;
You will complete two projects: a flat band ring, and a D profile ring (as shown in the photographs). You will learn how to design your rings, calculate your size to take shrinkage into account, make your own bespoke pieces and embellish with textures and a gemstone. If you want to make a ring for someone else please remember to check their ring size before coming!&nbsp;
Your rings will be taken away for kiln firing at the end of the session and will be posted to you within one week (It is recommended that rings are kiln fired rather than torch fired). Alternatively, your rings can be collected from The Arienas Collective by arrangement.
This workshop is suitable for those that have completed our half day silver clay taster or full day beginners workshops, or have some experience of working with silver clay. If you are unsure about whether it&rsquo;s suitable for you, please contact us before booking.

Create your own silver rings: a full-day jewellery workshop.
You’ll be guided by Anna Campbell, one of the UK’s leading metal clay instructors, in this inspiring one-day workshop. Designed for those who have completed a beginner’s course or have some experience working with metal clay, this intermediate-level class will take your jewellery-making skills to the next level. 
Over the course of the day, you’ll craft two beautiful silver rings, each showcasing different techniques. This hands-on workshop will provide you with expert guidance as you explore new ways to create and refine your designs in silver clay.
Here’s what you’ll create and learn:
Flat band ring. Start by making a classic flat band ring, which is sleek and flat all the way around. This project will introduce you to essential ring-making techniques, including how to size your ring for a perfect fit and work with silver clay to shape and refine your design. You will be able to texture and embellish this ring to make it unique to you.
D Profile ring. Next, you’ll craft a D profile ring - a design that is flat on the inside and elegantly rounded on the outside. This sophisticated style will allow you to explore more advanced techniques and develop your skills in shaping and finishing.

The Arienas Collective workshops, courses and events are run from a welcoming and supportive environment within a Georgian mews home in Edinburgh’s City Centre New Town. We invite you to join us, leave any day-to-day worries behind and immerse yourself in being creative.
Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us. 
Our taster and introductory workshops focus on teaching creative skills and methods you can continue practising at home, using affordable materials and equipment. Where more expensive equipment is required we will mention this in the workshop description.
All the equipment and materials you need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise. 
Light refreshments from local suppliers are provided. On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out. There is also a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus a range of supermarkets all within a 5-10 minute walk.
Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.
Allergies
The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. Or check in before booking.
Private workshop bookings
Most of our workshops are also available to book for: private get-togethers with family and friends; themed wedding and birthday celebrations; corporate team building and well-being purposes; and in-store retail events for your customers. If you’d like to know more please Email Lynn.

Our workshops are planned with adults in mind. Many are suitable for teenagers, but some may require under 16s to be accompanied for insurance purposes. Please check with us before booking.

The aim of the workshops is to help students to have written, or have made good progress on writing, their own 500 Word Short Story. We will be focussing on increasing range of vocabulary and language technique choices, along with introducing more advanced ideas about structuring stories; developing skills specifically pertinent to the Creative Writing tasks given in the English Language GCSE.
