Edinburgh School of Music is an independent music school based in Edinburgh city centre. We are a team of highly experienced, enthusiastic and professional teachers who provide music lessons in a wide range of instruments. Our goal at ESM is to bring the love of music into all our student's lives in a fun and enjoyable way as well as providing all the necessary skills to pass exams, perform with confidence and compose music and songs. We are very proud to maintain a 100% pass rate in all our student's instrumental and vocal music exams making us Edinburgh's favourite music school for private music lessons. One - to - one tuition Lessons are available for a range of instruments including voice, piano, guitar, violin, viola, cello, saxophone, clarinet, flute, recorder and drums. We offer one to one private lessons in our studio in Meadowbank or online lessons. Groups We offer a range of music group activities including our Baby music groups (for ages 0-5), youth singing groups, performance coaching workshops and summer school music groups. Please contact us to find out the groups that are currently available. Concerts At ESM we believe that learning to make incredible music is just not as rewarding if you don’t share it with others. We provide monthly showcases at Edinburgh's Jazz Bar in addition to end of term concerts. This gives our students plenty of opportunities to showcase their progress and develops our pupils into confident performers. Unfortunately, due to current restrictions surrounding concerts, we are unable to host any concerts at this time.

My goal is a simple one. To enable people to be their best and succeed in what is true to them. Sometimes we get stuck in the mire; can’t see the wood for the trees. My gift is to help you clear your own path. I am a straight-talker and down to earth with great insight and the ability to get to the heart of the matter quickly. Clients may come to me with the topic of problems at work when the real issue is one of a more personal nature, and vice-versa. I believe in coaching the person, not the problem as it is all connected and I love helping people to achieve more balance in their lives. Prior to re-training as a Co-Active coach with CTI (The Coaches Training Institute – the world’s leading coach training organisation) I worked in Restaurant/Hospitality management for over 18 years. This provided me with the opportunity to meet, support and serve a diverse group of people with vastly different personalities leaving me in a great position to coach a wide range of individuals. Why choose a Co-Active coach? What is different about a Co-Active coaching conversation? Coaching is not about solving problems, although problems will be solved. It is not primarily about improving performance, attaining goals or achieving results, although all of that will certainly happen over time in an effective coaching relationship. I believe that coaching is chiefly about discovery, awareness and choice. It is a way of empowering people to find their own answers, encouraging and supporting them on the path as they continue to make important life-giving and life-changing choice. The power of choice itself is an amazing thing, I believe that every situation has possibilities and that people really do have the power of choice in their lives. I also LOVE to cook and am a big fan of gaming in my spare time to help keep my brain active – it’s also very social and I love people.

We are a newly formed Edinburgh baseball community club open to all over-16s and adults who are interested in the sport. You can join us regardless of gender or your level of experience in baseball. Our practice sessions are free and atmosphere always welcoming. Winter training is NOW on Sundays. Please get in touch if you are interested in joining us. Players are the most important people in the sport. Playing for the team, and for the team to win, is the most fundamental part of the game. But not winning at any cost. Fair play and respect for all others in the game are also fundamentally important. Players should be aware of their obligations towards training and the game. A player should: ⚾ Make every effort to develop their own sporting abilities, in terms of skill, technique, tactics and stamina. ⚾ Set a positive example for others, particularly younger players and supporters. ⚾ Avoid all forms of gamesmanship and timewasting. ⚾ Know, respect and abide by the laws of the game and competition rules. ⚾ Accept success and failure, victory and defeat, equally. ⚾ Treat other members of the club and opponents with due respect at all times, irrespective of the result of the game, safeguard the physical fitness, avoid violence and rough play, and help injured teammates or opponents. ⚾ Show respect towards match officials, team officials (including opposition team officials) and supporters. ⚾ Abide by the instructions of their coach and team officials, provided they do not contradict the spirit of this code. ⚾ Give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance during a game, even if his team is in a position where the desired result has already been achieved. ⚾ Be aware of their obligations to their own team and make every effort consistent with fair play, sportsmanship and the laws of the game to help his own team win. ⚾ Not use inappropriate language. ⚾ Resist any temptation to take banned substances or use banned techniques. ⚾ Refrain from using any discriminatory language of any kind.
