Anna will take you through all the steps needed to create your own pieces ready for firing.&nbsp;</span></p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-class="p1"><span fr-original-style="" fr-original-class="s1" style="box-sizing: border-box;">You will complete two projects: a flat band ring, and a D profile ring (as shown in the photographs). You will learn how to design your rings, calculate your size to take shrinkage into account, make your own bespoke pieces and embellish with textures and a gemstone. If you want to make a ring for someone else please remember to check their ring size before coming!&nbsp;</span></p>

Create your own silver rings: a full-day jewellery workshop.
You’ll be guided by Anna Campbell, one of the UK’s leading metal clay instructors, in this inspiring one-day workshop. Designed for those who have completed a beginner’s course or have some experience working with metal clay, this intermediate-level class will take your jewellery-making skills to the next level. 
Over the course of the day, you’ll craft two beautiful silver rings, each showcasing different techniques. This hands-on workshop will provide you with expert guidance as you explore new ways to create and refine your designs in silver clay.
Here’s what you’ll create and learn:
Flat band ring. Start by making a classic flat band ring, which is sleek and flat all the way around. This project will introduce you to essential ring-making techniques, including how to size your ring for a perfect fit and work with silver clay to shape and refine your design. You will be able to texture and embellish this ring to make it unique to you.
D Profile ring. Next, you’ll craft a D profile ring - a design that is flat on the inside and elegantly rounded on the outside. This sophisticated style will allow you to explore more advanced techniques and develop your skills in shaping and finishing.

Our taster and introductory workshops focus on teaching creative skills and methods you can continue practising at home, using affordable materials and equipment. Where more expensive equipment is required we will mention this in the workshop description.
All the equipment and materials you need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise. 
Light refreshments from local suppliers are provided. On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out. There is also a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus a range of supermarkets all within a 5-10 minute walk.
Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.

The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. The dried clay is fired with a butane torch to form it into silver (at home a cr&egrave;me brul&eacute; torch will also do the job). Step into the world of jewellery making with this hands-on beginner-friendly workshop, where you’ll create three unique pieces of silver jewellery from scratch!
Over the course of this workshop day, you’ll explore the versatility of silver clay and handmake three stunning projects, each designed to teach you essential skills while sparking your creativity.
What is silver metal clay?
Silver clay is a material manufactured from 100% recycled silver, a plant-based organic binder and water. The silver is recycled from X-rays, the photographic industry, electronics, and the like. You don’t need a lot of tools and equipment to get started and all pieces made on this workshop can be fired with a creme brule torch.
Here’s what you’ll learn and create on this workshop:
Design and craft a pair of earrings (or pendant/charm). Start your journey by designing and crafting a personalized pair of earrings. Don’t have pierced ears? No problem! You can choose to make a beautiful pendant or a bracelet charm instead. Learn how to work with silver clay, texture and shape your pieces and what is possible with this material. 
Make your own custom silicone mould and silver clay charm. Discover the magic of mould-making as you create your very own silicone mould from any object of your choice. You can bring small items of your own e.g. buttons, charms, shells etc or choose from the large selection we have for you! You’ll then use this mould to create a unique silver clay charm, adding a truly personal touch to your jewellery. This technique opens up endless possibilities for future designs.
Craft a gorgeous stone-set pendant. Add a touch of elegance to your jewellery with a stone setting. In this project, you’ll design a stunning pendant and learn how to set a fireable gemstone into silver clay, adding a touch of colour to your design. You will also learn more about which gemstones can be set in silver clay. 
Throughout the workshop, you’ll be guided step-by-step by Anna Campbell, one of the leading metal clay teachers in the UK, making this a fun and accessible class for complete beginners. You’ll leave with three pieces of handmade jewellery, new skills, and a strong foundation in working with silver clay.

Immerse yourself in mosaic making on this introductory workshop with Jacky Cox from Mossy Mosaic.
On this introduction to mosaic making workshop you will create two mosaics using vitreous ('swimming pool') tiles, learning methods you can do at home. You will begin by designing, cutting your tiles and making a beautiful hanging heart. <p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">On this workshop, taught by Edinburgh&nbsp;jeweller and silver clay specialist Anna Campbell, you will learn the traditional skill of soldering to advance your jewellery-making skills in order to make different types of jewellery including stud earrings and cufflinks.</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">This is the perfect follow-on&nbsp;to&nbsp;the beginners workshops, and has been requested by our participants! It&rsquo;s also the right workshop for you if you want to make jewellery to sell, or simply wish to make unique pieces&nbsp;for yourself, or as gifts&nbsp;for friends.&nbsp;</p>

Master the art of soldering: a jewellery workshop for metal clay artists
Designed for jewellery makers who work with metal clay but haven’t yet ventured into soldering, this full-day workshop is the perfect next step in advancing your skills. 
Originally created by your tutor Anna Campbell, one of the leading metal clay teachers in the UK, for the London Jewellery School, this intermediate course was developed in response to student requests for a follow-up to beginners’ silver clay class, offering a deeper dive into traditional jewellery-making techniques.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the essential skill of soldering, enabling you to expand your creative possibilities by crafting different types of jewellery, including stud earrings, cufflinks, and pendants. Whether you’re looking to start selling your jewellery, or simply want to create high-quality pieces for yourself or as gifts, this course is tailored to help you achieve your goals.
What you'll learn and create
Design and create with silver clay
As a refresher, we’ll start by designing and crafting stud earrings, cufflinks, and a pendant using silver clay, reminding you of the techniques you’ve already learned (don’t worry if it’s been a while, we’ll cover it step-by-step). 
Soldering techniques
The majority of the day will focus on mastering the art of soldering, where you’ll learn:
How to solder earring posts onto your designs to create studs;
How to solder cufflink backs to your silver clay pieces;
How to solder a jump ring onto a pendant, eliminating the need to drill a hole.
Plus many more tips, including how to make your own pickle (for cleaning metal).
Comprehensive learning experience
We’ll cover two types of soldering, explore the equipment and materials required (which isn’t much more than what you already use for silver clay), and troubleshoot common challenges. You’ll have plenty of supervised practice, and by the end of the day, you’ll feel confident in your ability to solder and take your jewellery-making to the next level - even from home!
What’s included
The cost of the course includes materials worth over £30, such as 10g of silver clay, sterling silver cufflink backs, a pair of stud earrings, and butterflies - everything you need to complete the class. 
This workshop is ideal for anyone who has completed a beginner’s silver clay course or has experience working with metal clay and is ready to advance their skills in the art of jewellery-making.

Earth conscious credentials
We are mindful of the effect we have on the environment, and do our best to minimise our impact.
Silver clay is a material manufactured from 100% recycled silver, a plant-based organic binder and water. The silver is recycled from X rays, the photographic industry, electronics etc. You don’t need a lot of tools and equipment to get started and all pieces made on this workshop can be fired with a crème brûlée torch.
You also take all the lovely products you have created home with you on the day, and workshop correspondence and notes are sent to you electronically.

Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. Jenny owns and manages The Scottish Soapworks. She offers a range of hands-on soap and skincare making business courses which usually last from one to three days.
The length of course you need will depend on how many products you want to make, and the level of support you need with developing and marketing your brand.
On the one-day course you will cover up to two soap or skincare making methods in detail including: ingredients; suppliers; equipment; safety issues; recipes and essential oils. On the two and three-day courses you can cover more products including: traditional cold process soap; organic glycerine 'melt and pour' soap; shampoo bars; liquid soap; and, other skincare products such as hand and body cream, or lip balms.
You will go away with a bespoke pack of information including details of suppliers, legislation on creating recipes, and practical hints and tips. Jenny's business courses are arranged at a time to suit.
If you wish to bring a colleague from the same business, we offer a 20% discount on the second space.

Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us. 
All the equipment and materials you will need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise, plus light refreshments (a selection of Shibui teas, coffee, hot chocolate, and sweet or savoury snacks). On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out; or there are a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus supermarkets, within a 5-10 minute walk.
PLEASE NOTE: Our workshop space is on the first-floor of a Georgian mews building and unfortunately we do not have lift access. The workshop space is in our home which is not nut free. Please let us know of any skin or food allergies before booking.
Private workshop bookings
Most of our workshops are also available to book for small private get-togethers; themed wedding and birthday celebrations; corporate team building and well-being purposes; and as in-store retail events. Get into the holiday spirit at our Christmas wreath workshop with local artist and sculptor Lucy Wayman! 

Join us for a fun and festive DIY Christmas crafts experience where you'll create a beautiful wreath for your home, all while enjoying a complimentary drink of mulled wine or Shibui mulled tea.
In this 4 hour beginner-friendly workshop, you'll start with the basics of macramé, using soft cotton or jute cord to tie knots and craft unique macramé tree ornaments in various colors and patterns. 
After making your tree decorations, you'll use the macramé techniques learned to create a stunning, personalised wreath on a metal hoop. Feel free to bring any trinkets, beads, or ribbons from home to incorporate into your design.
No prior experience is needed; our expert instructor will guide you through each step in this hands-on workshop, and answer your questions. 
By the end of the session, you'll take home a gorgeous wreath and festive decorations to enjoy for years to come, all while connecting with fellow crafters in this creative holiday activities event!

Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. Fancy making your very own personalised glass Christmas baubles?
This taster workshop will get you into the festive spirit, as our calligraphy artist Panna Chauhan teaches you how to hand-decorate a set of 3 Christmas baubles which you will take home to hang with pride on your tree, or as perfect, personalised gifts for family and friends. 
In the first hour, you will concentrate on the traditional calligraphy letter-making and learn the basics. Then you will practice on acetate to get an idea of what it will look and feel like, so you'll have plenty of time to experiment and play with ideas. 
You will move onto working with the glass baubles once you feel more confident, to ensure they look fantastic! As you will be working on glass, you will use special gold, silver and black pens, which will have a very Christmassy aesthetic. There will also be a range of decorative items you can use to fill your baubles.

Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us. 
All the equipment and materials you will need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise, plus light refreshments (a selection of Shibui teas, coffee, hot chocolate, and sweet or savoury snacks). Drawing on the planning tools MAPS and PATH (Pearpoint, Forest and OBrien 1997) and other facilitation sources we use both process and graphic facilitation to enable the group to build their picture of what they would love to see happening within their organisation/community in the future and we encourage this to be a positive naming, not just a list of the things they want to avoid. In this training we make this facilitation explicit and attempt to model, teach and enable practice of key skills and processes.





Jack Pearpoint, Marsha Forest and John O’Brien developed these innovative PCP approaches in North America and they are being used successfully in many parts of the UK. The planning can focus on an individual, group or organisation and provides a powerful problem solving opportunity, which is flexible and robust enough for many occasions. This is derived from centuries of tradition among First Nation Americans and has informed many cultures in different ways. We have found this an extremely powerful metaphor for understanding the process of team and organisational change and renewal.</p>

<p fr-original-style=" color: rgb(119, 119, 119);" style="color: rgb(119, 119, 119); font-size: 16px; box-sizing: border-box;">The wheel of change begins in the north with a leading idea, for us &ndash; there is a better way of creating a team for inclusion. Travelling clockwise to the east we develop a shared vision of what this could look like in our setting, school or community. Then moving south we ask who needs to come with us on the journey. We wish to take as many community members along with us as we can. In an Early Years setting , this would mean enrolling the support of manager, the wider staff group, parents and ultimately children. Finally, at the west, we manage and implement the idea. We take action and turn the inclusive team into reality.</p>

Surely the real question should not be &lsquo;do they belong here?&rsquo; &ndash; but rather &ndash; &lsquo;what team support is needed here for this to work?&rsquo;</p>

About the instructor
Rosa Connor is a co-founder of Haptivate. She has over 10 years of experience working with individuals and leaders all over the world to develop their wellbeing and resilience skills. Rosa has trained executives, business leaders, HR teams and facilitators.
She created and leads the popular Women in Leadership Programme, which is being rolled out nationally. She is a qualified mindfulness teacher, yoga teacher and coach who has dedicated her life to sharing these tools with others to drive social change and create a happier, more peaceful society.
