The QA Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who want to increase their awareness of fire safety in the workplace. LGBTQ+ Awareness for Counselling and Psychotherapy Practitioners

This workshop/seminar is designed for counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologist and art therapists working with, or planning to work with members of the LGBTQ+ community. Participants will be able to explore and augment their cultural awareness and competency for working with LGBTQ+ clients. This workshop will provide a a safe and supportive space to learn and will include experiential exercises as well as taught elements. The workshop will be delivered by Claire Black, Gestalt Therapist/Supervisor in private practice and Counselling Coordinator at LGBT Health and Wellbeing.
Overview Many hospitals and clinics will use a smile, âcustomer serviceâ and good intentions to hide the fact they have poor or no training in service and professional staff about the different care that medical tourists or expat local patients need. At the heart of appropriate care for medical travellers is a need for institutional awareness of the unique differences between local patients and medical tourists. Having a better understanding of what medical tourists, their care managers and home-based doctors expect from the receiving hospital or clinic at the medical destination will lead to a better quality of patient care for medical travellers.
This module focuses on developing leadership confidence through self-discovery, emphasising the importance of understanding one's unique leadership style and personal philosophy. Participants will explore their core identity as leaders and learn strategies to enhance their influence, credibility, and relationships within their organisation. Exploring the link between self-discovery and effective leadership, focusing on developing confidence to lead from within. Would you like to add a persona touch to your old coat? Change a look of your favourite cardigan? Wearing a customised, handmade brooch could completely change your look so why not to join us for a 2-hour brooch making workshop, where you will learn very basic stitching and working with various upcycled fabrics including felt, tweed and tartan scraps. If you prefer to use your own materials or have some pieces of sentimental value you would like to use, you are more than welcome to bring them along. During this workshop, we will also touch on the theory of colours and how they can affect and change our moods. This workshop is led by Anna Baran, a trauma informed designer, artist, and maker based in the north of Edinburgh. She has always drawn inspiration from the sea, with her walks to local beaches, particularly Wardie Bay during the lockdown, becoming not only a source of new ideas for her artistic practice but also a way to gather materials such as driftwood, pieces of plastic ropes, and seashells. Anna has consistently sought to incorporate upcycled materials into her art, using her work to raise environmental awareness and promote art as an accessible medium for self-expression, regardless of financial circumstances. In addition to participating in various art exhibitions and fashion-related events, she has delivered a wide range of art and craft workshops to diverse communities across Edinburgh.
