To achieve performance optimisation in students, Lainey Vox uses tried and tested singing techniques, a variety of fun anecdotal examples to help you visualise goals, demonstration and praise to guide students. Lainey helps build confidence in performers enabling them to overcome stage fright, create a stage persona, have free performance movement, be more equipped for life in the music industry and build a social media presence. She also strives to build learner strategies for those with special educational needs such as dyslexia. Our school supports students in developing creative confidence and finding courage through a range of icon painting courses and workshops open to students at all levels. Edinburgh School of Icon Painting was founded in September 2013. It is a small school based in the artist hub St. Margaret's House. The school mission is to teach icon painting (writing) to people of all different backgrounds but at the same time maintaining the ethos and essence of it's spirituality. Introducing this unique form of art to students of the school I introduce a way of practising art which is different the other forms of art and it is said to be more then just art. Students learn egg tempera technique which has been used in art for centuries and it is one of the most lasting painting techniques. There are still reasonably well preserved icons from VI Century. Egg tempera involves preparing own paints using egg yolk and dry pigments. Through the whole process of work we try to limit synthetic materials. Using organic materials helps to develop a connection with nature and in consequence with the Divine. Basia Mindewicz - founder and teacher. Born in 1978. Currently working and living in Milan, Italy, Robert Marjoribanks’ work finds inspiration and a great attachment to space and identity, spirituality and pragmantism. New perspectives and varied visual information are combined to explore possible narratives which may be overlooked or ignored as opportunities to make art which often talks of the relationships we have with our own and others culture and living spaces. Trained as a printmaker at Gray’s School of Art he was increasingly interested in the physicality of the print process. This intrigue pushed and pulled him into a more sculptural way of working. Taking into consideration the appropriate materials to use he often works with cast or found objects placed into a relationship with printed media and the environment they are found in. After being awarded his bachelor’s degree he went on to become the workshop assistant at the Edinburgh Printmakers in his hometown. After a year working with an artist residency program helping to curate and working with artists in Shanghai he has lived and worked in Treviso and now Milan, Italy.

Hi, I’m Kathryn and I run antenatal courses and workshops along with baby and postnatal classes in Edinburgh. I teach weekly pregnancy classes and birth and baby workshops, which focus on combining antenatal education with birth hypnosis and breathing techniques, movement for pregnancy wellbeing and active birth and are a great time of the week to focus on you, your pregnancy and your baby. Weekly classes are a great way to help you enjoy a positive pregnancy and meet up with others local to you and at a similar stage in pregnancy as you prepare for your confident birth. I also teach Tinies and Wrigglers daisy baby classes which as well as offering baby massage, yoga and sensory play are all about coming together with other new parents to meet, chat and learn – navigating the journey into parenthood together. What I particularly love is seeing expectant parents meet at antenatal classes and continue with daisy baby classes until 10 to 12 months postpartum offering a real connection and community and seeing friendships grow. My classes are with you every step of the way, as are the community of daisy parents around you connected in class and online to always be there to support you. For everyone that is looking for evidence based information, delivered live and interactive (both online and in person) in a non judgemental space with other like minded new and expectant parents you are in the right place! As a local Mum of two I know just how much of a huge transition it can be becoming a new parent and I am passionate about supporting parental wellbeing and passionately believe in the value of peer support. We’ve all heard the saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ and daisy is all about building your village! I trained with The Daisy Foundation in 2013 and have been teaching for daisy classes for over 7 years working with hundreds of parents and families from throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians. I am also a voluntary peer facilitator and lead Positive Birth Edinburgh, as well as being a trained Slingababy Baby Wearing Peer Supporter and a proud member of Edinburgh Birth and Baby.
