All coaching is delivered from a First-Class Honours vocalist and performer- Lainey Vox. At Vox Stars, we want to empower you to make the most of your voice and performance skills. Students are encouraged to embrace their own unique style and are also given the opportunity to build a diverse repertoire by experimenting with songs from various genres. Vox Stars coaching explores a variety of Popular Music genres including Pop, Rock, Musical Theatre, Indie and Disney. Coaching at Vox Stars explores the scientific workings of the voice which enables the student to explore various voice qualities and approaches to style. To achieve performance optimisation in students, Lainey Vox uses tried and tested singing techniques, a variety of fun anecdotal examples to help you visualise goals, demonstration and praise to guide students. Lainey helps build confidence in performers enabling them to overcome stage fright, create a stage persona, have free performance movement, be more equipped for life in the music industry and build a social media presence. Vox Stars is an inclusive learning environment. Therefore, Lainey aims to help  students of various learner styles and abilities. She also strives to build learner strategies for those with special educational needs such as dyslexia. Lessons will enable you to have fun, fall in love with the vocal instrument and help you reach for the stars!    Vox Stars also offer 5 star rated workshops , they focus on a variety of exhilarating themes from Disney to Pop stars. Event days include a room draped in themed decor, action packed singing and dancing activities to brilliant music, fun drama and performance explorations, exciting games and themed crafts. To make the day extra awesome we provide prizes and party bags, refreshments and snacks, and area for parents to relax with hot drinks and nibbles. Kids workshops focus on creating, making, performing, learning through singing and music, film and friendship based activities. Private workshop style parties can also be arranged with Vox Stars!

ECA has always been a place of experimentation and collaboration, celebrated for enabling students from different disciplines to work alongside and with each other, and for creating strong linkages with other institutions. We trace our history back to the Trustees’ Academy founded in the 1760s which, over the course of the next century, operated from some of the most iconic buildings in the city, including the University’s Old College and what is now the Royal Scottish Academy. The first Professorship in an ECA subject area was created for Music in 1839 in the name of John Reid, with the Watson Gordon Chair of Fine Art founded some forty years later, the first of its kind in the British Isles and a turning point in the teaching of the History of Art. Following the establishment of the Reid Concert series in 1841, which continues to this day, the Reid Concert Hall was built in 1859. We’ve been known as Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) since 1906, following a major reorganisation of higher art education in Scotland. At the time, we were governed by the city Council and divided into four Schools: Drawing and Painting, Design and Crafts, Architecture, and Sculpture. We moved into what is still our Main Building in 1909, when the first of our annual Revel parties took place and, by 1913, our Cast Collection had been installed in the Sculpture Court.

Kids love our after school clubs. Parents do too. At Trinity After School Club we are proud of the exciting and stimulating childcare we offer. We understand each child is different and that they want to get involved in different things. Every day there are planned arts and crafts activities, outdoor games, and quiet time for reading or to do homework. All the children get involved in planning the activities and outings at the after school clubs. They bring new ideas or develop initiatives suggested by the staff. The kids make sure we do interesting things and get involved in the community – from a tooth brushing project, writing a song and a performance on anti-bullying to building relationships with a local elderly residential care home. We make sure there is plenty of variety. Our experienced staff encourage an all-inclusive environment where consideration for others is paramount. Policies and procedures are in place to cover all aspects of childcare to reassure parents and guardians that we have their children's interests at heart. Flexibility of care is important to parents and guardians and we offer full-time (5 days per week) and part-time places (2, 3 or 4 days per week), and we operate a Crocodile Club for P1 and P2 children who finish earlier. We cover most holidays and in-service days and our team plan ahead with the children to offer a great range of holiday activities.

We currently run 5 of school clubs across North Edinburgh and 2 in Juniper Green. Please see individual clubs for specific details on each. All of our clubs are registered with the Care Inspectorate and all of our workers are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council. Our clubs offer children a wide range of fun and exciting learning opportunities based on their needs and interests. They also provide space for children to relax and spent time with their friends. A typical activity programme will offer children opportunities for indoor and outdoor play consisting of a mixture of board games, arts and crafts, loose parts, sports, music and outings. We actively promote children’s participation, not only in the planning, delivery and evaluation of our activity programmes but also in wider aspects of the clubs such as recruiting new members of staff and buying resources. During holiday periods we take children on outings and encourage them to try out new experiences such as abseiling and canoeing. We have fully trained Forest School leaders within our staff team who offer additional opportunities for adventurous outdoor experiences. A healthy snack is included in our fees. On Fridays and during holiday periods children are required to bring a packed lunch. Think of the thing that makes you most happy. When you see it or get involved in it, you light up. That is what creating art does for me. The different commissions I have undertaken have taken me on journeys I might not have otherwise gone on. Connecting with the client and finding out about the reason, motivation and need for the commission sparks all kinds of ideas. My personal art practice often includes playing with a variety of art materials. Whether it's using gouache, creating digital illustrations, using ink and bamboo or cutting into cardboard envelopes to create a scene, there is always some new way to use these materials to express an idea. Biography Originally from the American Midwest, I trained as a Fine Art major, minoring in Art Education. I currently work in Edinburgh as both an artist and an art teacher of young children. All of my art lessons incorporate Art History and the creation of artworks inspired by the work of specific artists or even just a single work by an individual. My professional practice focuses on drawing people, architecture and creating pieces using a variety of art materials. My work has been exhibited throughout the UK and USA, notably the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh and the Barbican Artists Studios in London. I divide my work time between creating illustration pieces for various corporate and private clients and teaching children and adults.
