Meriden Coventry

The business first operated from premises in the small village of Knowle in Solihull but moved into larger premises in July 2012 to accommodate the larger tile projects that they were being requested to supply. The new premises within Century Park, Birmingham, offered better access for hauliers due to its locality to Birmingham Airport and the major motorway network as well as offering a much larger warehousing capacity. A real success story, more recently the business has expanded its operation even further by opening a state of the art eco-friendly architectural showroom based in Meriden between Birmingham and Coventry. The showroom offers and extensive range of unique and innovative collections on display, with access to thousands of samples. The showroom offers modern meeting spaces and a state of the art office space all under one roof. We can provide onsite CPD training and various types of technical testing. The directors are supported in their day to day business operations by an experienced and talented back office team who cover administration, warehousing, finance and sales. They are currently looking to further expand this team in order to manage the additional demand and retain their reputation for excellent customer service, something with which they have become known for. The company is particularly proud of the clients that they have accumulated over the years who include many household names both in the UK and abroad. Over the past four years the company has also exhibited at shows such as 100% Design and Surface while featuring in FX Magazine and IDFX Magazine as well as being members of the TTA. The Directors have visited Cersaie in Italy each year since the company’s inception to meet with suppliers and further cement their relationships guaranteeing their clients access to the latest and most technologically advanced tile ranges. With turnover increasing year on year the company has ambitious plans for progressive growth as well as continuing to innovate within the tile sector by further streamlining the tile specification process. We welcome enquiries from commercial clients and can offer a range of services and advise on our products including ancillary products which complement our collections. For unrivalled customer service speak to a member of our team today! We have created a number of videos that are available to view on our YouTube Channel, an example below focusses on the installation of large format porcelain tiles:

Online learning Courses are now seen as the ideal way of learning a new subject. Whether you are studying for a career, a promotion or purely a general interest, distance learning fits nicely to even the busiest routines. The process of online learning could not be simpler. Once you have found the online course you would like to study simply process your details and pay online or by calling our office on 0121 792 3872 [tel:01217923872]. Once we receive your details, you will receive your course access within 24 hours via email.  Students can then commence their studies to suit their circumstances. Most courses contain a series of assignments to test your knowledge. This gives our tutors the opportunity to assess your progress step by step. All assignments will be graded, and a report is issued containing any suggestions for improvement as and when required. WHY CHOOSE ONLINE LEARNING COURSES FROM UK OPEN COLLEGE? FLEXIBILITY Attending college is no longer the preferred study option for many students. The flexibility that online learning brings allows even the busiest of students to learn a new skill. Students can study from home as much or as little as they want at a pace which suits them personally. Every student’s commitments and circumstances are different which makes home learning the ideal solution. Students can enrol at any time of the year and not have to worry about enrolling ready to commence at the start of the academic year. There are no set term times or any deadlines to meet. You can enroll whenever you feel ready. There is no pressure at all. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS  Most of our online learning courses require no previous skills or knowledge to enrol. You do not have to complete an entrance exam or have previous qualifications. This makes learning accessible to all. Over 70% of our students have not studied since leaving school and by their own admission feel apprehensive and admit confidence is low. You really can study whatever your background or circumstances. The average age of our students is 36. Our oldest student was 74. It is a myth that you have to be between 16-18 years of age to commence a study programme. CHOICE  We believe we have one of the largest selections of online learning courses available and are continually looking to add courses we feel will be of value to existing and potential students. We currently have over 300 online courses to choose from, the majority leading to fully recognised awards and qualifications. AVAILABILITY  Our online courses are available to students all over the world, enrolment is available to all and it is not necessary to be a UK resident. Almost 20% of our students are studying from outside the UK. As long as you have Internet access then there really is no barrier.  LEARN WHILE YOU EARN  A major advantage to home learning is the flexibility of being able to study around your work and family commitments. Many students who have expressed an interest in learning through their local college found the constraints and starting dates difficult to manage. Combined with the difficult task of taking time off work or arranging travel and childcare they are unable to attend their course. Online learning courses eliminate all of these problems. Carry on earning while you are learning. UNLIMITED SUPPORT  It is important that our students have support and guidance throughout their studies. All of our online courses come with unlimited email & telephone. No matter how small the problem is we recognise that students like need to be able to ask questions as and when necessary. The Vulnerability Registration Service

the vulnerability registration service

Coventry

The Vulnerability Registration Service (VRS) gives vulnerable people a single place to register their status, helping them avoid repeating the same difficult conversations every time they engage with organisations like lenders and creditors. It is a “Not for Profit Company Limited by Guarantee” whose aim is to help vulnerable consumers protect themselves against the financial, social and very personal hardship suffered as a result of debt and financial problems. The stakeholders in the VRS all have experience working in Consumer Credit markets. There are regulatory, compliance, consumer affairs and IT expertise and acknowledged experts on our management team and Board. The VRS has a separate and independent Advisory Board of experts that meets regularly and feeds into the VRS appropriate advice and innovation to help drive the VRS forward. There has been considerable interest shown in the initiative since its launch from consumers and businesses alike. The VRS continues to grow as awareness expands among creditors and service providers of all sectors. Debt advice and mental health organisations are also supportive of the work the VRS does, and using the register to load consenting vulnerable consumers who wish to refer or auto decline lending and credit applications. The VRS provides businesses with instant API decisions and access to upload your consenting vulnerable consumers onto the VRS register. They are also able to upload consenting consumers on the VRS register via Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) and retrieve data from the SFTP.

Nimbus Learning

London

When we started Nimbus Learning, we looked to solve what we saw as a gap in support for students such as ourselves. Our peers would reach out for help but would be faced with a multitude of obstacles to access student success services. We watched as they put time and effort into finding help (whether that be finding tutors, mentors or other support) on top of an already intense workload, juggling school, jobs and family responsibilities. We watched their health, wellbeing and success suffer as a result. When we connected with administrators to try to understand the problem, we saw ambitious and dedicated offices spending a significant amount of time every day on repetitive, time consuming tasks. Tasks like emailing to match students with the right mentor, recruiting tutors, and tracking hours and time sheets. Over the years we have honed Nimbus Learning’s services to make student success services more accessible while cutting down on the administrative workload. The Nimbus Platform centralizes tutoring, mentorship and advising programs into one place, where service providers can make their availability known in a few steps and students can book what they need at the click of a button. We help tutors develop the tools they need to succeed in their first jobs, empower administrators to see every aspect of their program in seconds and guide future planning based on in-depth analytics. We now work with administrators at over 25 schools, representing a quarter of a million students, to reduce the time that they spend on managing their student services by 52%. That return on time allows them to actually grow their services instead of just maintaining them and what we see are efficient, budget-saving programs that provide more value to students, help students do better academically and, ultimately, help them succeed.

The Island Project

the island project

Meriden

The Island Project School was set up to provide a school for children and young people with autism. It was founded by parents whose children had previously been taught at home using Applied Behaviour Analysis ("ABA"). Without functional communication, adults with autism can be isolated from their family, community and even carers. Without clear and early intervention, children and young people may grow into adults with no communication or independence skills meaning that they become the most dependent, and sadly most vulnerable group whilst needing the largest amount of support. If, as a school, we can give young people a means of communication plus independence skills, we can give them a better quality of life, whilst reducing their long term dependence upon their community. Unfortunately, whilst Local Authorities have a legal obligation to provide appropriate education for all children, they do not have the space, funding, or expertise to provide appropriate education for all pupils, particularly those with complex communication needs and associated difficulties, or for those who have ABA on their EHC Plans In the West Midlands, there were no ABA schools when the Island Project was founded, and this remains largely the case. The School was founded using the principles of ABA, and the Pyramid Approach to Education which gives pupils an effective means of communication using the Picture Exchange System. The School recognises that having an effective means of communication, putting in place strategies around managing sensory difficulties, and the development of independence skills are key to enabling children and young people to successfully access education and a better quality of life in the future. In recognition of this, all pupils at the School have input from a Multi Disciplinary Team which includes Behaviour Analysts, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists specialising in Sensory Integration. The School originated with three pupils in a small unit in Balsall Common. The Schoo was founded as a charity, and within a few years, had outgrown its original building and moved to new premises at Diddington Hall in Meriden.
