About this training course This 5-days comprehensive training not only an introduction into the issue associated with the development of oil and gas fields but also provides an in depth understanding of the issues to be considered in the development of these fields. The theme throughout this training course is Flow Assurance and Innovative Technologies. Each day consists of lectures in the morning and a hands-on workshop in the afternoon. The workshop allows the participants to appreciate the design process associated with field developments. Various software will be available during the workshop to predict Multiphase flows through wells, pipelines and risers, as well as evaluating reservoir production profiles using alternative technologies to develop reservoirs. Further software to assess Surge and environmental safety will also be available. The field design approach will consider an integrated solution through modelling the reservoir decline, wells, flowlines, risers and the host facility. The participants will have a total appreciation of the methodology required to develop offshore oil and gas fields and have an understanding of all of the Flow Assurance issues and technology requirements. Training Objectives After the completion of this training course, participants will be able to: Understand the process required and identify data to analyse Flow Assurance for oil and gas fields. Examine and Identify the Flow Assurance issues required to be evaluated for oil and gas fields design. These include; Wax, Hydrates, Slugging, Corrosion, Sand Erosion, Scaling and Surge. Establish the studies to be undertaken for each area of Flow Assurance including 'Rules of Thumb' and software to be used. Prioritize the need for innovative methods and the technologies to solve Flow Assurance issues and the need for economics considerations. Appreciate the need for an integrated analysis of the oil and fields from the reservoir to the host processing facility. Gain an appreciation of the emerging and enabling technologies for offshore fields application. Dive deeper into the operational strategies requirements to mitigate Flow Assurance issues. This year at Drive Learn Achieve we celebrate our fourteenth birthday. Fourteen years of teaching Cardiff’s learner drivers, fourteen years of test passes, fourteen years of reviews and recommendations, and fourteen years of close shaves! In July 2007 DLA launched with the ambition of getting to July 2008. We had a huge driving school fleet that comprised of one well worn, cheap Toyota Yaris, 100 freshly printed business cards and a young driving instructor that was still learning the trade but keen as mustard (still don’t know what that means). We’ve had our learners drive us up one-way streets (the wrong way), around roundabouts (the wrong way) and have taught thousands how to negotiate Cardiff’s most notorious junctions the right way (Gabalfa interchange and Culverhouse Cross included). We quickly realised that we were going to be popular due to being recommended and our online reviews. We started the process of interviewing driving instructors that were interested in joining our team. Most didn’t make it. We demand the highest standards of professionalism in the industry and this meant that sometimes the ‘fit’ wasn’t right. We’ve now assembled a group of Cardiff driving instructors that understand our approach and deliver excellent customer service. In 2010 we opened our Facebook and Twitter accounts and we continue to use these platforms to interact with the public and shamelessly plug our driving lessons in Cardiff and driving test passes. It took a while but in 2018 we finally got on Instagram too. In March 2011 Apple released the iPad2 and the geeky version of us was in the queue to pick ours up on its UK release date. We knew it would be a game changer for driving instructors and it was. The interaction and understanding between pupil and driving instructor increased exponentially and we now couldn’t live without them – both our pupils and iPads of course! Cardiff’s practical driving test centre moved from Fairwater to Llanishen in 2013 and with it came the introduction of the bay park manoeuvre. The test has also seen the introduction of the Hazard perception part of the theory test, basic car maintenance questions, independent driving and last year saw the Sat Nav test introduced. Keeping up with these changes is intensive but we’re of the opinion that if it makes the roads safer, review and embrace it. In 2016 we started to offer driving instructor/ADI training to people who feel that they can contribute to society and its roads by not freaking out when headed towards a lamppost. This is an acquired skill and takes nerves of steel – bizarrely we really enjoy it and we’re aiming to become the best at it! In 2019 we began helping disabled drivers to fulfil their dreams of being on the road. Sometimes the driver already has a licence but following a recent diagnosis/illness, they need to learn a new method of controlling a vehicle. This is a part of the business that is developing as fast as driver innovation is, and it’s equally rewarding and exciting for us to be a part of.

Adderley is a very child-centred nursery, which means that children spend much of their day engaged in self-directed learning. The majority of the day is free-flow, meaning children choose to engage in a range of different activities, indoors and outdoors. Children engage in activities independently and with their friends, as well as taking part in adult facilitated activities that are planned from children's interests and developmental needs. We believe that at this young age children learn best through a play-based curriculum, with support from our experienced staff team who engage with children in their play to support social interaction, language development and further learning opportunities. Some key attributes we seek to develop in children include self-confidence, problem solving and independence. 2-4s Unlike many other settings, at Adderley our two to four year olds are all part of the same unit. They share the same space and access the same activities. The Nursery is led by qualified early years' teachers and experienced qualified Nursery Practitioners. Key Person Each child & family has a named key practitioner. This offers the opportunity for a special relationship to develop. The key practitioner builds a close relationship by acting as a companion for the child & being mindful to the needs of the child during each day. The key practitioner acts as a champion for child & parent. Sharing information and creating opportunities to talk with parents builds trust & partnership. Settling-in is a crucial time. Transitions Each child and family is unique. Before starting Nursery, we offer all children and families a pre-entry induction meeting at Nursery and sometimes a home visit. We have new children starting every term. We have a range of base areas that offer a place of security for children to explore the Nursery. The Loft Room and Green Room provision support our youngest children to make smooth transitions from home to Nursery. There are seamless internal transitions to Studio 1 and Studio 2 for older children. Studio 1 and Studio 2 offer continuity and progression. We work together to support the settling process. When parents feel comfortable in the setting it helps their children to settle. During the Summer Term we work closely with neighbouring primary schools to offer smooth transitions to Reception. Children leave with excellent primary school readiness. Rhythm of the Day Adderley feels like home. We create Rhythm in the Nursery through our daily routine. Some children arrive early for breakfast and stay for tea. These are nurturing, social times. For most children in Nursery the day begins with meeting & greeting by the key person. A group time with the key person takes place on entry to meet & plan learning (breathing in) (15 minutes). This is followed by a period of child-initiated play indoors & outdoors (breathing out & exploring the world) (90 minutes). A group time at end of the session to share food, reflect, share stories and singing (breathing in) (15 minutes). About the Nursery Rhythm also comes through personal care routines. Nappy changing, changing clothes, washing, eating, quiet/resting/sleeping times are learning and development times for key person and child. Children experience the seasons and feel connected to nature and its lifecycle. There is a planned yearly timetable for looking after the garden and visits to parks. There are unplanned spontaneous experiences connected to weather. Children participate in real experiences like shopping, gardening, cooking and caring for living creatures and plants Food and Nutrition We are passionate about fresh, healthy food that tastes great. The right nutrients can affect everyone's mood, behaviour, health, growth and even their ability to concentrate. Encouraging a well-balanced diet establishes healthy eating now and for the future. We offer hot meals that are brought onto site by specialist caterers in education establishments. The children also have access to a morning snack of fruit with water available throughout the day. We offer breakfast and tea to children who are with us for longer days. The children grow some of our food in the garden. Governing Body The Governing body plays a key role in overseeing the practice and ethos of the school. They provide challenge and support to the Executive Head teacher and leadership team. Annual Data At Adderley we track children's learning and development termly, seeking to ensure that children make good or better progress and continue to be stimulated and challenged by their nursery experiences. This information is shared with families at termly reviews. We also use this data to identify curriculum development priorities. Working with Parents We value parental input very highly. We are always looking for parents to join our Governing Body which s a way to be involved in the direction that Adderley takes moving forwards. Each term parents meet with their child's Key person and contribute to identifying 'next steps' for their child's learning and development. We encourage families to share children's learning experiences from home through the Tapestry documentation tool.
