Talbot Green,

Good record keeping is the cornerstone of effective safeguarding practice. A vitally important practical step in safeguarding is to record concerns as they arise. MYCONCERN® is our Queen’s Award-winning secure digital platform that enables staff or other members of your organisation (such as volunteers) to record their safeguarding concerns quickly and easily. Recording safeguarding concerns in a carefully structured and consistent way supports highly effective case management and data analysis. Our mobile companion app enables the secure recording and case management of concerns on-the-go and seamlessly links with your user account in MYCONCERN®. TAKE ACTION INFORMED DECISION MAKING Understanding your safeguarding data is critical if you want to prevent serious harm. By recording incidents and concerns diligently and consistently a picture will quickly emerge of risks, issues and trends. By monitoring and managing your data in MYCONCERN® you will be in the best possible position to provide early help and to demonstrate the impact of your initiatives and interventions. GENERATING INSIGHT BUILD A RICH PICTURE Gaining a multi-establishment perspective provides much greater insight to improve safeguarding practice. Safeguarding concerns are rarely limited to a single place or issue - they often occur in multiple locations and involve several people and issues. Building a rich picture using a wide base of data and from a multi-establishment perspective can provide much greater insight. Organisation-wide and even community-based action now becomes possible. Data from multiple instances of MYCONCERN® can be analysed using the advanced capabilities of CLARITY® to track trends, identify actionable opportunities for intervention, save time and money, and improve safeguarding practice.

Caversham Primary School

7RA,

We, Ruth’s family, are left devastated by the sudden loss of a lovely mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, sister-in-law and friend. She leaves a huge, aching gap in all our lives and, we know, in the lives of so many others who were lucky enough to know her. We are grateful to all our friends for their thoughts and support now and in the difficult years ahead. Ruth will be remembered as the kind, funny, confident, vivacious, caring person she was and for all that she achieved in life. We also ask those who did not know Ruth please to respect our privacy, as we come to terms with our unfathomable grief, and to consider carefully how their words and actions might impact on others. As the many tributes to her from the broader school and Caversham community attest, Ruth cared deeply not just about academic results, but also about the general well-being and happiness of the pupils and staff whom she taught and led. Caversham Primary was a very happy school under Ruth’s leadership and, despite the many challenges that always go with the role of Head, she was happy there too. Ruth was a dedicated headteacher and an excellent teacher. She loved the pupils and the staff of Caversham Primary School and was very proud to have been its Head Teacher for 12 years and previously Deputy Head Teacher for four years. Ruth was a force for good in her life, and we want her to be a force for positive change after her death too. We would urge anyone who has been affected by her death to talk about their feelings and know that help is available. Local and national helplines, advice and support can be found on the Reading Family Information Service website.

Newport

Hi, I’m Angharad and I live in Hull with my husband Paul, our two boys Caden and Colby and dog Phoebe. Since having my sons, I longed for a career change that gave me more time with my family. With being in the hairdressing industry for 19 years I knew what I enjoyed most was working with people. After much research I found Tots Play. Not only had I found a class that appealed to me as a mother with all the variety it offered, but also made me excited at the thought of being able to help parents or carers develop their connection to their child with all the benefits baby massage, yoga, signing, music, movement and sensory play provides. I will also make sure you take away lots of fantastic ideas to carry on the fun times at home. Having my youngest in the first lockdown has shown me how important baby and toddler classes are, not just for little ones but for helping parents bond with their child, as well as building invaluable supportive relationships with others in the same situation. Being a parent can be incredibly challenging and lonely sometimes so finding a class where you can share stories, laugh about the adorable or cringy moments and feel part of a community is irreplaceable. Have a look at the classes below to find the class that is best for you. Book your place and let the fun begin. If you have any questions you can contact me by email at angharadh@totsplay.co.uk or call/text me on 07816501552. I can’t wait to meet you and your little one at a class very soon Happy playing Angharad

Cardiff

Kokoro Karate is a traditional Shotokan karate school with a modern approach to practical applications. At Kokoro we take an holistic approach to our training, developing mind, body and spirit. We believe this empowers our students and develops mindfulness, self-confidence, heath, fitness, concentration, co-ordination and respect. The Class Instructor is Sensei Paul Cooper 4th Dan. Paul has over thirty years of experience, achieving his black belt in 1987 with Hanshi Shiro Asano 9th Dan, who was a direct student of Nakayama, the founder of the JKA. Paul has trained internationally with many world respected teachers in his karate career grading with the SKIF, SSKA and the Conroy Karate Group. We are governed by NAKMAS (National Association of Karate and Martial Arts Schools), the only martial arts body in Britain to hold a Government recognised British Standards Quality Kitemark (BS:EN ISO 9001:2015) via the British Standards Insitution (BSI) and is accredited to the Equality Standard: A Framework for Sport at Intermediate level. Paul is a senior instructor and examiner for the NAKMAS Governing Body and the club operates within the strict policies and guidelines laid down by them. Our dojo is at The Old Library Sports & Community Centre, Singleton Road, Splott, Cardiff, CF24 2ET Training is suitable for men, women and children aged ten/eleven years and over. We do allow children (primary school age) by prior agreement to train if a parent or guardian trains as well in the senior class, we also offer our Kokoro Tigers programme that is designed for children from 4/5 (school reception class) to 10/11 years old. Shotokan training is divided into three parts: kihon (basics), kata (forms or patterns of moves), and kumite (sparring). Techniques in kihon and kata are characterised by deep, long stances that provide stability, enable powerful movements, and strengthen the legs. Shotokan is regarded as a dynamic martial art as it develops anaerobic, powerful techniques as well as developing speed.
