Members of the Trust rescued the slipway and buildings from dereliction in the 1990s, with support from Bristol City Council, the Heritage Lottery Fund, the South West Regional Development Authority and volunteers. Following the restoration, the yard was set up as a working boatyard with tenants, including a number of start-up small enterprises. Underfall Yard is now home to many different maritime-related businesses, as well as several clubs and organisations focused around water activities. All income from the tenants and the slipway is put back into maintaining the yard and buildings. The Trust also takes a keen interest in Bristol Docks as a whole, and in maintaining Bristol’s maritime heritage. Underfall Yard Trust’s goals for the Heritage Lottery Fund project, delivered between 2014-2018, were: Preserving and restoring the historic buildings and machinery Retaining the unique character of the Underfall Yard keeping it as a working and productive place, not a working museum Improving public access, engagement, awareness and understanding of the yard including interpretation, with opportunities for learning and volunteering Nurturing and supporting maritime skills by providing workshops, with opportunities for training and learning Enhancing sustainability to ensure long-term viability The current chair of the Trust is Ian Wilkinson who can be contacted via the yard’s postal

I am an author, trainer and consultant in Knowledge Management for law firms. Law firms are knowledge intensive businesses. The way that they create and exploit their combined knowledge has a considerable effect on their profitability and effectiveness. Much has been learned over the past 20 years about how we can create efficient knowledge practices. My goal is to teach law firms how they can work effectively and stop wasting money on inefficient knowledge systems. I come from a family of teachers and I have found my teaching passion in helping law firms to “work smarter”. I have been writing textbooks and training law firm employees since 2009. Previously I spent a decade as a solicitor/lawyer specialising in clinical negligence litigation and 2 years in-house in know-how, so I understand law firms from the inside. I am very proud of my recent MBA with distinction. It opened my eyes to the valuable gains made in other sectors through strategic Knowledge systems. It also enabled me to spend a year intensively studying how law firms can improve competitive advantage through facilitating knowledge-sharing, the topic of my dissertation. I care passionately about distilling all the academic study and research into something practical and useful for you and your law firm.

A community that has taken phenomenal steps, towards creating positive and long-lasting outcomes, for vulnerable and disadvantaged children across the Southwest. Partnering with local authorities, alternative educators, and specialist provisions, Lexia are able to intervene by mentoring and training new talent. We are committed to inspiring a generation of young people, to explore the impact they can make in the special education sector. We advocate for young people who may have overcome their own challenging life experiences and adversities. This group of passionate individuals has proven themselves to be some of the most relatable and engaging young people you will ever come across. I have been helping people make positive changes since I qualified as a hypnotherapist in 2002. I work with clients in a treatment room in central Bristol and online all around the world.
