We stock Spectrum, Botz, Amaco, Terracolour, Scarva and Mayco brands in glazes as well as our ever popular range of own glazes and slips which is being developed all the time. Our range of clays is most comprehensive, including clays from Europe as well as the UK. We aim to keep a tonne of each clay in stock at any time, in short we have everything from the Potteries and more under one roof! Our website is a very user friendly place for buying everything you require for ceramics. It has helpful tips and product information too in the useful information section. We offer an excellent same day dispatch, next day delivery on orders placed before 3pm. Our shop is a lovely place to visit, with our clays and glazes on display, along with tools, books and exciting new products. You can also see samples of finished fired products. We also have a sale section in the front of our shop where you can pick up bargains. We have potters wheels, equipment and kilns in our showroom for sale and demonstration, again from well known and trusted brands such as Rohde, Nabertherm, Potterycrafts, Gladstone, Cowley, Shimpo and more! We have a large car park and helpful staff to make your experience more pleasurable. We offer short to medium term, outcome focused, practical and emotional support to women with mental health needs who live in Bristol. We use variety of communication methods from phone and text, email, virtual platforms, limited face to face. We also offer group work. We work closely with adult care and anyone can refer to our service and you can self refer. When you contact us you will speak to our triage worker to assess if we can help you immediately or over the short term. Our lines are open Monday-Friday 9.00am-5.30pm. Should you need more support you may be referred to a support worker.

IH Bristol was started in 1987 as The Language Project by Val, while studying for her PhD. The school has been teaching students ever since and it is the biggest remaining family owned and operated language school in Bristol. We joined the International House global network of affiliated language schools in 2009 and are proud to be members of such a highly regarded, diverse and vibrant organisation. Over the course of the years we expanded into two beautiful period buildings in the Clifton distric and diversified into teacher training, exams, junior summer - and winter - school and foreign languages. In 2019-2020 we added a new custom-built student common room to our Queens Avenue building, furthering our ambition to always put the student experience first. IH Bristol aims to give back to the community: we have taught many refugee classes in Bristol and have been involved in development projects in Cuba, Angola and Vietnam. We adapter our buildings for Covid very early so that we could facilitate English exams for medical professionals needed by the NHS. And let's not forget our free exercises and our Phrase of the Day videos, which can help students worldwide to increase their knowledge on a daily basis. We are working towards making our operation more environmentally sustainable and have so far installed 100s of ultra low energy light fittings and fixtures and sophisticated heating controls. Screen printing is a traditional print process that uses stencils to build up an image. The stencil is attached to a screen - a finely woven mesh attached to a frame. The image is printed by drawing a squeegee at pressure across the screen, pushing ink through the mesh onto paper in those areas not covered by the stencil. There are different ways of making stencils for screen print; the most basic are papercuts, but a more sophisticated technique uses a photostencil: the screen is coated with a light sensitive emulsion and the artwork is exposed onto it. This process allows greater detail than paper stencils, and enables photographic images and text to be used. For each colour to be printed, a separate piece of artwork needs to be created. About the studio and equipment My studio is part of Centrespace Co-operative, a block of 31 workshops and studios that also manage the adjoining Centrespace Gallery. Centrespace, formerly known as Bristol Craft Centre, took over the building, a former print works in 1977. My own studio is a light and airy space of two rooms with an additional wet room for washing out screens. One room houses the print equipment and one is for design and drawing work. The print room uses a self built exposure unit, and includes three printing stations (one tabletop setup and two vacuum beds), and marble racks for drying prints. The drawing room includes desk space for three people and a large lightbox. About the tutor Simon studied painting at Portsmouth Polytechnic and printmaking at Chelsea College of Art, where he received the British Instuition Fund for Printmaking Award. He worked in London for over a decade as a scenic painter and muralist before moving to Bristol in 2002. He holds a PGCE in Post-compulsory Education and has been teaching screen printing to all ages and abilities for over a decade. He exhibits his work regularly.
