Paint your own pottery or create your own craft; it's creative fun for everyone, no matter how old or young you are! So, how does it work? It's easy peasy! Normally, you can pop down to the studio to select your craft, e.g. pottery painting, silk clay, throwing and handbuilding with clay (it's advisable to phone ahead if you want to come down at the weekend as we're often running special workshops). Obviously, not so easy peasy in Lockdown, but we've got loads of take away options to keep you out of trouble whilst at home. If you don't mind waiting for your masterpiece, choose one of the many, many pieces on display on our Take away pages, grab an apron and a paint brush, let your imagination run riot with the wide range of glazes, leave your creation with us for a few days, then collect your glazed work of art and enjoy! We're sure it'll be worth the wait!

Our facilities include a dark room and equipment for intaglio and relief printing, screen printing, lithography and letterpress printing.

FloorSkills Training Centre is run under the personal supervision from two of the country’s leading trainers Sid and Matt Bourne, who have between them won British champion installer and represented the UK in the European championships. FloorSkills only uses trainers who are proven in the trade, we have a select team of instructors and the help of numerous reputable manufacturers. FloorSkills also work in partnership with the BWFA who FloorSkills provides the training towards the BWFA apprenticeship program on their behalf. The main aims of our training courses are to educate fitters while on courses and to enable access to ongoing training. FloorSkills has undergone a rigorous approval process where the contents of its courses and the processes it uses in association with them have been thoroughly checked and approved by leading Manufacturers. At Lappelli, Teresa specialises in running (along with her guest tutors) a variety of craft workshops including enamelling, fused glass, jewellery making, beading, printmaking and needle felting. Our craft classes give you the chance to try a new craft without having the hassle of buying all the equipment! this year Lappelli has been out on the road running sessions at events and craft shows. Teresa also creates a variety of enamel and fused glass gifts including jewellery, bowls and pictures; with her work in galleries and gift shops across the country and worldwide web.

"We encourage, enable, develop, mentor, facilitate, empower and support local creative arts practitioners from a wide range of backgrounds." Since our Foundation, in September 2014, we have staged over 120 exhibitions showcasing a varied body of work, by artists both emerging and established. Encompassing a diverse and multi-disciplinary range of artistic practices including: Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, Illustration, Photography, Sound, Video and Performance Art. A comprehensive list of all of our past exhibitions can be found under 'Portfolio'. Our overarching ‘Philosophy’ is to actively encourage, enable, develop, mentor, facilitate, empower and support local creative arts practitioners from a wide range of background with a priority to engage in discussion around accessibility within the arts in relation to mental health, financial hardship and institutional bias. We have also provided work placements to a number of European students, via the Erasmus + and Gecko programme. Partnering with local Venues, Institutes and schools , we aim to develop a strong community that has access to free space, free mentoring and the ability to grow and learn from each others valuable experience and skills. The spaces are offered for hire and for free depending on the nature of the request and is offered to both emerging artists or collectives that deserve a space to explore and harness potential, or established artists with a strong visual aesthetic. Our initiative is to offer this space first and foremost to west-midlands based artists who wish to strengthen their local artistic community and create a discourse for regeneration. We curate approx one show per month in our two exhibition spaces and these are either from chosen submitted proposals or from exceptional and forward thinking artists that we find on our travels. In-between these exhibitions we encourage groups or collectives with a passion for community welfare and development to use the spaces for poetry , music, discussions, rehearsals , workshops or their own curatorial interests. Our workshop packages are perfect for groups looking for an alternative activity to take part in as part of a corporate event, team building exercise, stag or hen do, birthday party, Christmas party or any other occasion you’d like to embellish with a unique creative spin.  Below is a list of ‘off the shelf’ workshops and packages we currently offer however each of these can be customised to suit your needs. So if you like the look of tie due but also want to give t-shirt printing a go drop us an email and we’ll do our best to make it happen. Similarly if you’d like any of these experiences to come to you please get in touch as a selection of our equipment is portable. Booking a workshop as a group would give you a discount price as well. If you are more than 5 people, you can get it from 50£ per person (regular price 75£) for our usual 6h workshop.
