University Technical Colleges (UTCs) are government-funded schools with a science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) focus. UTCs were established by companies and universities in areas of high demand for talent. Alongside national curriculum teaching, UTCs also offer sought-after vocational and technical qualifications, and benefit from industry-standard equipment and specialist staff to provide students with skills that are valued by employers. The UTC curriculum has a strong emphasis on ‘real life’ project-based learning, which engages students and develops their personal character. Because of this unique offer, UTCs allow for a broad choice of pathways when a student reaches 18 years old: university, higher or degree apprenticeships, or directly into a career.

I hope you will find it interesting and will find the information you are looking for. ‘A seminary is more than a building, it is a community of formation.’ That is the starting point for the Catholic Church’s understanding of seminaries. St Mary’s College has existed as a formation community for 226 years. It has been in its present location for the last 182 of those years. Formation takes place here in many different ways: but for the sake of convenience we divide those ways into four main strands. They are pastoral, spiritual human and intellectual. You can read about each of those areas by clicking here if you would like to know more. Even though we are much more than a building we are very proud of the buildings the seminary inhabits. You will see many photographs of them on the website and you will also find various ways that you could visit us. You would be very welcome. We are also proud of our seminarians and our permanent deacons in formation. You can read about their experiences on the website, as well as their hopes for the future ministries they will have in the Church in the different dioceses and religious congregations who choose to use us to help form their future deacons and priests.

We have been in partnership with Whitstable Town FC since 2016. We currently operate our Whitstable Town FC Academy under the clubs name to allow clear pathways to progress into the mens reserves and the clubs first team. We hold our education at the club in our brand new classroom and host all our home games for the academy at the stadium. We work closely with the club, providing them with an U7 team each season, from our Saturday Development sessions. We support the coaches on training nights to ensure the coaches are improving and that the quality of session delivery is being improved, so to develop each individual within the club. Our partnership is going from strength to strength with the academy numbers growing. Our academy is one one of the biggest in Kent and is fast becoming well established in the country.

Enabling people live, learn and share to build a brighter future in mind, body and spirit.Henrietta was the manager of a multi-agency youth offending team (YOT). Her passion lies in working with and advocating for, families and children who may be isolated by and discriminated through disability or disadvantage. As YOT Manager she obtained funding for specialist Speech and Language Therapy input, a successful innovation which was taken up UK-wide. Working closely with the speech, language and communication consultant has provided Henrietta with additional skills and understanding around the complexity of communication and language and its impact on educational outcomes and behaviour, she has also had direct experience of working with Deaf Young people. She strongly believes that every child has the right to access language and should be given the very best opportunity to achieve their maximum potential and be able to provide a positive contribution.
